Being chased
Third, they will become protective.
{LAXUS'S POV}
I only relax after I set Mira safely on the ground. She smiles sweetly at me.
"Thanks for saving me, Laxus." She says. It's unnecessary, because I would save her even if she didn't thank me. It's still nice though. Natsu and Gajeel also land with their girls.
Because of silent agreement, we form a protective triangle around them. You protect my mate, I protect yours.
I ask the critical question. "Mira, what happened to the bastards who dared kidnap you?" All three girls get very guilty looks on their faces.
"Umm, y-you don't have to worry about them anymore." Mira says nervously. I suddenly imagine Mira transformed into her satan soul form, and beating up her captors. That's my girl.
"I swear, I won't let anyone close enough to do anything like that ever again." I state simply.
"No need to be so protective." She shrugs off my concern. I growl a little. When did Mira get so damn irritating? Why won't she just let me protect her? Oh, right. Of course. She's Mira.
Mira suddenly starts walking away. The other girls follow her cue. My growling increases. "Where do you think you're going?"
"Obviously," she looks over her shoulder at me and rolls her eyes, "back home to Magnolia."
Something rustles in the bushes in front of her. I quickly situate myself in front of Mira, ready to defend her from any threat. Shock first, ask questions later. I almost fry a poor little chipmunk.
{MIRA'S POV}
I thought Laxus was bad before, he's triply bad now. The three of us sit in a corner of the guild hall, as far away from the other members as we can possibly get. Still, they stand between us and all "potential harm", the dark aura emanating from them rivaling Erza's after someone eats her strawberry cake.
Finally, I can't take it anymore. I stand up. Laxus immediately comes to my side.
"Be careful." Lucy whispers. I know she doesn't mean me. Like the book said, I've never been safer. She means, be careful so the guys don't do something to our guild mates they might regret once the mating season is over.
"I will." I whisper back. Then I go to the master. "Master, this has to stop. Can you do something even if it's just for a few hours?"
Laxus narrows his eyes suspiciously. "What—"
"Now, my children!" Master yells. Everyone in the guild suddenly pulls out a bunch of chains. Laxus, Natsu, and Gajeel knock out dozen each with their punches, but some members, like Erza, Gray, Wendy, and Juvia, manage to wrap their chains around them.
"To the basement!" Erza commands, opening the doors to the basement. They throw the struggling dragon slayers inside. Laxus leaps for the exit, for me, only to be shut in.
"Barricade!" Erza yells. People quickly start throwing tables chairs, anything really, at the basement doors, wedging them shut.
"Those are anti magic chains. They should hold even the powered up dragon slayers for a few hours." Gray says. We all breathe a sigh of relief.
"Lucy, Levy, we have a few hours. What do you want to do?" I ask them.
"Leave!" They reply immediately. We all run for the exit. We decide to walk around Magnolia.
It's funny, I felt so cooped up with Laxus, but now that he's not here, I feel... empty, alone. I can tell the other girls feel the same way.
As if reading my mind, Levy says, "Ya know, maybe we should go back."
"Yeah." Lucy agrees.
"Agreed." I affirm. We turn around, only to be confronted by two people in black cloaks with the hoods up, wearing masks.
"Ha, ha, very funny, Emery and Misaki. We know it's you, so you can take off the masks." Lucy says.
"Uh, Cal, who's Emery and Misaki? Are those our names?" One of the masked people scratches his head, confused.
"No, you dolt! That's the ice dragon slayer and her mate. They're on their way, and if we don't hurry, they'll catch us and ruin the master's plans." The other one, Cal, slaps his partner. We slowly back away. They're so focused on themselves, they don't seem to notice we're escaping.
"Oh yeah. Sorry." He apologizes.
"What are you waiting for, Herman? Get them!" Cal, yells, pointing to where we were.
"Uh, where are they Cal?"
"Dammit, they're getting away! After them!" They chase us through the streets. We head for the guild hall, but on the way there we see people we know. It's Gray and Juvia.
Wait a minute. Are they holding hands? Is this a date?! Yasss, Gruvia!!! No wait, this is no time for me to be shipping!
"Gray! Juvia!" We yell, running towards them. When they see us, they immediately break apart and blush. Aww. Then our masks assailants appear behind us.
"What's going on?" Gray shouts as the dumb one, Herman, blasts us with wind magic.
"Get the guys!" We cry. Cal also appears behind us. Gray and Juvia's eyes widen and they take off.
"Now I don't know about you girls," I say, "but I'm sick of sitting back and letting Laxus protect me. I won't go down without a fight."
We share a look. I transform into Satan Soul. Lucy pulls out her keys and whip. Levy prepares to cast her solid script magic.
"Bring it. We called for reinforcements, so you're about to meet the entire dark guild of Dark Eclipse!" Cal boasts.
{GAJEEL'S POV}
"Those are anti magic chains. They should hold even the powered up dragon slayers for a few hours." I hear Gray say. Ha! Have they forgotten that I'm the iron dragon slayer? Who needs magic? I start eating the chains, and in a minute, I'm free.
"Strong enough. Yeah right. Can you even call these anti magic?" Salamander snorts, lighting his body on fire and melting chains right off, turning them into a puddle of red hot liquid iron at his feet.
"Piece of cake." Laxus grits his teeth, and the air smells like ozone. I suddenly recall that electricity and metal don't mix well.
"Laxus don't!" I shout, but it's too late. The mighty lightning dragon slayer shocks himself, as Laxus's magic is sent back at him by the metal chains, and we're hit too. 10,000 volts of pure electricity jolt through my body as the basement is filled with lightning, making my bones rattle and my muscles spasm erratically.
Finally, it ends, and I flop to the ground, smoke coming out of my mouth. It takes forever, like five minutes without my Shrimp, but I manage to gain enough control to struggle to my feet.
Salamander and I share a glance. He seems to have gone through the same thing I have. We turn to Laxus, who's still on the ground.
"NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!!!"
Laxus also struggles to his feet, and looks at his chains. They're unscathed. "Dammit."
He focuses, veins bulging in his arms, and he breaks the chains with sheer physical strength. He cracks his knuckles, and glares at the door. I too turn to face the barrier between me and Shrimp.
We're about to ram the door with all our magic and strength, when it opens. Gray and Juvia and standing there, panting.
The only thing that holds me back from killing them is that deep down inside, a small part of me knows that we're part of the same guild, and I'd regret it later if I killed Juvia. The rest of me wants Shrimp, and these two just removed my only obstacle.
Then they look up, and I'm feel a wave of cold in my gut. Why do they look so panicked? Why don't I smell Shrimp?
"They were being chased." Gray pants.
"Juvia should have stayed. She should've helped Lucy, Levy, and Mira fight. Juvia's very sor—"
Juvia doesn't even get a chance to finish her apology. We blast past her, following their scents. I smell the exact moment when Shrimp got scared. When she started running. We track their scent all the way to the scene of a battle.
My girl put up a fight before she was taken. Over two hundred bodies lay around the place where Shrimp's scent disappears.
Please be safe Shrimp.
