. . .
My feet slid down the cool stones of the coast I called home, slipping but not allowing myself to fall as I inched closer and closer to the blue waters of the sea. It called to me, beckoning me to come to it, to swim in it, to be like one with it.
It was, after all the place I considered safest. I jumped the final leap to the beach that was hardly a foot or two wide, my gaze traveled down to the sand covering my toes and I wiggled them smiling. My feet pushed me forward, closer to the water and my feet were covered by the ICE cold waters of the ocean, of the sea instantly, but they were the waters of my home. My skin was as use to them as my lungs were to the air.
Slowly I put my hands above my head and dove out, breaking the surface and skimming as close as I could. I swam out as far as I could with my one breath.
It was when that breath ran out that my hand snuck down to my smaller pocket on my knapsack, which was waterproof and reached in through the seal. It closed tightly around my arm. Then finding what I was searching for I pulled my hand out quickly and pulled the thing back over my head. The thing was a blue elemental crystal or also known as a soul crystal and it would enable me to breath underwater.
I took a breath of the cold fresh water swirling around me.
And then I began to swim out to sea.

Two Years ago...
I was swimming above the waves, gasping for every breath as I swam out farther and farther. I had about a mile left out of the twelve I had when I had started the deadly swim.
But I needed to see it.
Needed to cure my curiosity.
About the shipwreck.
My hands fought against the waves for every stroke and I knew I had just met the "wall" when the lactic acid would start producing in my body and slowly my muscles would start to shut my movements down. I fought telling myself I could rest when I got there.
But it was anything but easy. The cold water seemed to want to eat me alive and each movement was like death all over again.
But suddenly I was there, I looked down at the shipwreck below me, it's shape blurred slightly by the liquid I was swimming in. It would have been a beauty to ride it before the accident and the storm. Its name had been Lathracid or better known as Truth, and I knew I had to see it.
Just finished by a noble man the ship had wrecked against the rocks about twelve miles out from our shores, it was said Truth was the fastest sailing ship to ever ride the waves and it was also said it was made out of the finest quality. They said the wood was that of a Grand Oak, polished and sanded until it shined in any light and the stone designs implanted in the boat hull were said to be made from opal, a very expensive stone no matter where you were from.
But it had been stolen about a month ago by a treasure hunter and his crew who, due to lack of experience landed it here. Under the waves of my home land. And now the treasure was whoever's for the taking. I took one last breath and dove beneath the waves, about twenty seconds later I was pulling myself along towards the doors of the deck.
The wood wasn't soaked enough to break off in my hands yet but it almost was. Another few days and the trip would have been a death sentence as it would have been so slow.
It was then that a light caught my eye and I swam towards it, knowing I would have to go up for air soon. Better to cure my curiosity sooner rather than later the ability to find it. I got closer to the light and what I saw amazed me. Several crystals, all of different colors where tied around the main flag pole and one in particular was glowing in the water. I quickly untied it and the rest and put the blue glowing one around by neck.
The others were shoved into one of my many pockets and slowly I took a breath. I had expected the myths to be wrong about the soul crystals, but no, I could breath. I giggled and bubbles escaped my mouth which only made me smile more. I spun around in the waters and slowly made my way towards the deck doors.
Maybe I wouldn't have to make another trip.
I pushed the doors open and swam inside, holding up the blue Crystal as a light source, it's chain still around my neck. The room was lined with about twenty boxes.
Twenty boxes of treasures.

After leaving the ship with pockets brimming with gems and valuable objects I swam towards the shore, still underwater with my newfound water crystal still around my neck. The summer waters were surprisingly warm and calm now so I swam closer to the smooth rocks that lined the bottom of the ocean, I had always wondered what made them like that but it was definitely above my understanding as a fourteen year old.
I pulled myself forward with the rocks until I decided to take a break.
I came to sit on a large part of the rock, holding onto a crack as the soft waves gently now pushed me back and forth.
I leaned up against the rock behind me and surprisingly fell back not finding what I was seeing, tumbling into a dark place that I could barley see in and once again I held up the crystal to see with. I was in a sea cave.
__________The Cave__________
The cave was but a dome with two openings, the one I had just come through and the one directly in front of me. I looked up at the entrance I had just entered by and I decided a little exploring would be fine. I pushed myself up and swam through the dome and into the other opening which seemed to be a dead end. I felt the wall and finding them solid I swam back out of the tunnel end to look at it. I swam back in and looked up, and there was a light. I swam up and my head poked out of the Water to see a room. The room was lined with books and in the middle of the room was a mirror with a big trunk on with side of it, a door went off somewhere else on the left side of the room. Pulling my hands out of the water I lifted myself up and out of the it.
A shiver ran through me and I yanked the Crystal up and over my head realizing I couldn't breath with it on in the air filled room.
Standing up I looked at the books, on the side closest to me my fingers running along the spinal cords and my eyes scanning them as I walked. But I stoped as my fingers reached one.
Magic.
I looked at the next books to find there were more with similar titles but I took a step back knowing magic was forbidden then returned to the mirror which I walked up to, wondering what was so special about it. Looking up at it, it was almost like the glass was swirling and changing before me, I reached out to put a hand on the glass.
But my hand didn't stop, instead of stopping it went right through it.
I yanked my hand back.
This place was starting to creep me out.
I looked at the trunks, one was locked but the other wasn't... I yanked the lid open to find small folds of cloth I grabbed one and unfolded it to find a knife as long as my forearm, I carefully set it back down in the trunk and closed the lid before looking up at the double doors on the left.
My feet slapped against the cold stone floor as I walked towards them and I threw them open to reveal a pool. The pool water was almost the same shade of clear as the mirror if only more magical, a opening showed the sunset and I knew that no normal creature could see the opening from the outside. I slipped into the pool first putting in my foot and surprised when the water didn't feel like water at all. I slid the rest of the way into the pool and sat there watching the sunset and slowly my eyes closed...
___________True Magic___________
Suddenly I was standing in the sun. White grass was below my feet... wait white grass? I bent down to feel the "white grass" and it wasn't grass at all! It was soft and plush almost like a cloud, that is from what I could imagine. I looked up and a chair was sitting in front of me surrounded by multiple smaller chairs, wait they weren't chairs they were thrones, large golden thrones. There was a breeze on my neck and I stood up suddenly and glanced up.
Coming towards the thrones and me were angels. But they weren't angels they were more like gods, God's and goddesses. They slowly sat down with each of their silvery eyes on me.
Jasmine, come to us.
I stepped forward as the voice in my head commanded me and I looked up to the angel on the big throne.
It was a lady, from what I could tell, who had a silvery dress that matched her eyes but her wings were gold, pure gold and I knew it without knowing how.
I bowed bending down to where one of my knees touched the ground. It was as I had been told to do in the presence of royalty and I guess these were even above them.
Stand Jasmine, we are here for you.
I stood up, the voice was in my head but I knew it was them. "Who are you?"
The lady with the gold wings leaned forward.
You know in your heart who I am, but do you know who are you?
Her smile slipped and she glanced at her companions and for the first time spoke out loud. "We have gathered here to discuss the gifts of the moon child."
I gasped, moon child? Like from that old child's poem?
She looked at me.
__________The Poem__________
The moon child,
As she shall be,
Will save our hearts,
And all will glee,
The moon child she shall be,
Born at three to hold the key,
Dragon bound,
And this is so,
Love prevails,
All shall hail,
And the king will fail...
Herself will rise with her clear blue eyes,
And with true aruras,
The king will die.

I looked down then back up at the lady. "Am I her?"
The lady nodded.
___________The Present (a little bit after she started swimming)__________
I pulled myself up and out of the water before quickly circling the room looking for anything that was off or different in the room since the last time I had been there. Nothing was off and I went to the double doors, taking a breath with my hands on the handles.
