Avalon looked away for the millionth time, trying to find something else to pay attention to, looking as nonchalant as she could manage.
This was getting ridiculousー she felt like eyes were on her every time she looked away.
Sharp, unmistakably maroon eyes.

She'd never felt this nervous under someone's gaze. It was pissing her off. She was going to have to do something about this..
Waiting until the bell rang and the class let out to go to fifth period, Avalon stood outside the classroom door and waited for a certain someone to step though. The moment he showed himself out the doorway, she grabbed onto his wrist and yanked him off to the side, with quite a bit of strength, given her size.
Being as tall as he was, Rune nearly tripped and fell on her from the force of her tug. He'd barely had the chance to give her a curious look before she started talking.
"Hey, pal. Wanna tell me what the deal is?"
He blinked once.
"I'm sorry?"

"Don't play dumb! I've felt your eyes burning a hole through my head all day. There something you wanna say?"

Rune almost smirked a bit. So she'd noticed himー he'd quite honestly done his best to be discreet. He was liking her more and more by the minute.
He stood up straight to his full height and crossed his arms, looking at her a little too smugly for her liking. "Does it bother you?"
She glared at him.
"Yes, it bothers me! Knock it off! It's creepy."
Rune tried not to snicker to himselfー she had quite the spirit. He was taking quite a liking to this one girl. Never had he met one like her.
Avalon's glare hardened.
"There you go staring again! I'm trying to have a conversation with you! What's your problem?"
He wasn't even explaining himself! Everything about him pissed Avalon off.
"... Do you have lunch this period?"
This confused her enough to break her glare as she blinked at him.
"... What?"

"Lunch."

Avalon paused for a long moment before she narrowed her eyes at him. "....why?"
What was this creep trying to pull exactly?
Wearing a stupid grin, he leaned further towards her, making her lean away in disgust. He looked undeterred, smirking still as he spoke. "I was curious about whether or not you'd grant me the honor of sitting with you?"
Avalon looked incredibly surprised by this, and quite honestly, horrified.
She was offended! He'd just met her! He must've been one of those guys who just likes people for their looks...!
Looks like she made a mistake dressing up today... A mistake she didn't intend to duplicate.
"N...no! I.."

"Unless of course..." He tilted his head and laid a hand on the wall to support his weight, effectively pushing her back to the wall as he leaned over herー that seemed to make her look like a frail little girl for just a moment before she hid it behind her glare.
"...you're seeing someone?"
His words made Avalon's cheeks flush immensely, and it made Rune's heart skip a beat for a moment. How endearing...
"N... None of your business! Leave me alone, weirdo...!"
Shoving him out of her path, she quickly shuffled away, and Rune watched with a grin as she headed towards the cafeteria, her cheeks still a cute shade of pink.
An intriguing girl, indeed.
