'I can't do this...I can't do it to him...' your mind was in overdrive with guilt, of being marked by another dragon slayer, as you waited for the blonde to mark you. However, his teeth never pierced your skin. He just pulled away to look at your face, your eyes were shut tight with tears in the corners. The man knew that just like him, you wouldn't be satisfied to be marked by one and other, only your actual mates would do.

Realising his teeth hadn't sunk in, you opened your eyes to see him looking into yours, "I couldn't do it!" he growled angry at himself, that here you were one of the most beautiful women he'd seen apart from his mate and yet he couldn't do it.

Wrapping your arms around your bare chest you sighed in relief. "Me either!" you glanced away, now feeling a little embarrassed at your current position. "I'll get ermm..." you went to get off when he stood up, your legs wrapped around him as a strong arm wrapped around your back, the other picking the bottle of whiskey up off the side.

"I could do with sharing a bed with someone." His voice was raw with emotion, just like what you felt. Nodding you pointed to where the bedroom was located, while he carried you with ease. Opening the door he saw the cosy looking place you'd rest your head at night. Not wasting anytime he waltzed in placing the bottle on the side, sliding in the sheets with you still attached to him.

"Get comfy then!" he growled making you raise an eyebrow at the comment.

"You do realise it's my bed your sleeping in?" you snort as he just glares, you don't flinch at the man as you snuggle in between his legs. The bare skin of your back against his rippling abs, that were doing it for you but not enough to betray your mate.

"Yeh, I get it. Drink!" He commented passing you the bottle he'd brought from your work. "So, I know your names (f/n). Your manager used it enough. What slayer are you?" he was all about talking as you laughed.

"Star dragon, plus if you know my name it's only polite a girl whose tit was just in your mouth knows yours." Your attitude was back to the sass he remembered from the bar making him chuckle.

"I guess you do, short stack. It's Laxus" he laughed making your choke on the drink.

"Wow...aren't I honoured, the Laxus Dreyer, the lightening dragonslayer that attacked his own guildmates. Such as pleasure and what a pair we are." You sounded sarcastic making him curious about how you knew so much.

"You know about that, huh? So, clearly you have a story, Little Miss Sassy." Laxus chimes in making you look into his eyes so you could see his reaction with what you were going to tell him.

"I was with Phantom Lord!" it was his turn to choke on his drink. "So, technically you're in bed with the enemy." You laugh looking away in shame.

"From the look in your eyes, you regret the choice you made and well I can't judge." He smiled at you kindly, making you feel a little more at ease. Both of you then went into what you had been through as children, what it was like in your guilds.

Of course, your ears perked when he discussed a certain pink-haired mate of yours, but not once did you give away that he was your true mate. You also noted he didn't once mention who his true mate was either.

The sun was rising by the time the two of you fell asleep in each other's arms and even though both of you had been alone, the two of you no longer felt that. As if you had found a friend to bare the mistakes of your past with.

Waking way past midday, the sun was beaming through the open curtains as you leaned up looking down at the gorgeous man below you, that could have been your mate if the two you had gone against everything that your very being had said was wrong. Leaning forward you kissed his lips softly, as his hand instinctively pulled you deeper into the kiss.

Even though you now knew each other as what you would class best friends, the two of you still craved the touch of another. Knowing that you wouldn't be sexually intimate with the other, but the odd kiss here and there couldn't hurt. If anything it gave you both the feeling of being needed by someone else.

Pulling away you looked down into the open blue eyes, as your chest was pushed against his, "Morning Beautiful!" he muttered wrapping an arm around your waist as you lent your head on him.

"Morning Muscles!" you responded noticing the sun is shining. "The storm finally stopped." You made in passing as he glanced out the window.

"Yeh." Is all he responded before there was a silence eating away at the two of you before he sat up and placing you between his legs looking into the blue eyes. "Why don't we travel together?" he smirked as you looked a little stunned, confused before he placed hand on your cheek. "Look, we're both shit people so may as well stick together?" he shrugged making you laugh.

"Plus, I'm thinking of going to an island to pay my respects. Normally, people that aren't in Fairytail can't go but I'm not of Fairytail anymore, however, maybe you can ask forgiveness from the first master." He shrugged "Oh, did I mention it's hot so you can put your body in a sexy ass bikini!" he wiggled his eyebrows making you laugh.

"Fine...when do we go?" acting as if he defeated your will but, to be honest, you were looking for a new adventure. With that, he filled you in the with the plan to leave within a month across the sea meaning that you would have motion sickness which you weren't happy about.

Meanwhile back at Fairytail the constants for the S -Class trails were announced. Natsu is one of them choosing his best friend Happy, flying blue exceed as his partner. Other contestants were.

· Freed with Bickslow to help

The thing was they were heading to the same place you were, along with their master, Laxus's grandfather and the other three S-Class Mages, Erza Scarlett, Gildarts Clive and the lovely Mira-Jane Strauss. Also, travelling to the island was Gajeel and Wendy's exceeds, sensing danger to come which they weren't wrong about, as Fairytail were attacked part way through their S-Class trails by a dark Guild called Grimoire Heart, looking for the black wizard Zeref.

However, as Laxus and yourself headed to the island after them, not realising exactly what you would be walking into something in your gutted felt off and it wasn't from the motion sickness from the boat. "Laxus....do you sense that?" you looked at him from your position on the floor in a bikini, as he sat also looking a little green himself.

"Yeh!" was all he commented as you crawled to the edge of the boat you were on, looking towards the island, Laxus doing the same before his face pales at the sight ahead.

"I thought you said there was a big like tree thing?" you clarify as you start to hear the sound of thunder and lightning begin to clash amongst the waves and from the look on your travelling companions face, there was something wrong about the island.

"This is as far as we will be going" the captain commented not realising the storm was due to Laxus's rage building, that the sacred island of Fairytail, where their first masters grave was being attacked.

"It's fine. Beautiful, we're swimming the rest grab your shit!" the man growled not happy, you knew he missed being part of Fairytail from the month that you'd spent together. So, doing as you're told you threw your bag on your back. Laxus grabs you jumping in the water. "Stay with me!" he snapped protectively as you neared the shoreline.

Getting to a large ship Laxus grabbed you "Hold tight!" he commented before you were moving at lightning speed and the nostrils picked up a scent. Laxus then let go of your waist crashing lightening down in front of an older man. Even though you knew your mate was there you went on the defensive, letting Laxus speak since you were technically trespassing.

"Time to show me what you can do beautiful!" the blonde commented making you nod before speaking to his former guildmates lying beaten and bruised on the floor. "Huh? How pathetic. It looks like this old man beat all of you without breaking a sweat." Laxus rough tones calling out relaxing the area around you.

When you heard his voice your cheeks blushing as you glanced back at him smiling "Yeh you're right" before a woman with red hair the woman you remember as being called Erza.

"Why are you here Laxus? Also, where did (f/n) come from?" she sounded annoyed but also relieved.

"I came here to visit the founder of Fairytail's grave with beautiful here. I used to be a member of Fairytail after all and well (f/n) goes where I go." You were a little embarrassed about how he was speaking about you in front of your mate, who seemed to be focused on the fight luckily.

"I came here to visit the grave of first guild master Mavis, and look what I found the former second masters here too. And since you're already in this place, I may as make this your grave to." Lightening started to flicker around the guy as you just stood your ground waiting for a turn, dying to play since you hadn't in so long, stars were practically dripping out of your fingers.

"I never thought Makarov had such a stuck up grandchild!" the man with long grey hair wearing an eyepatch commented making you snarl. "And what do we have here a stray!" he glared at you as you were about to snap, Laxus put an arm out.

As the three of you started emanating power, the members of Fairytail knew you were powerful and sure it wasn't as powerful as Laxus or Hades but still you were dripping with starlight, and as Natsu looked at you, he knew Laxus hadn't marked you, he knew you would be his when this was all over.

"Finally Makarov, you have someone in your Guild who is at the level of your strongest man Gildarts!" the man Hades snides at Laxus, attacking as if you weren't even there.

"Huh?! The old man once told me, when facing a strong opponent, I must be careful. And it doesn't matter how strong the guy is, what's more, important is to keep standing up to him!" you looked at your friend smiling proud of his words and them hitting home to you. "Isn't that right Natsu?" the blonde questions the pink-haired hotty on the floor.

"Laxus!" the boy comments making you glance back at his beaten state that you're using every inch of your being from attacking the man for hurting your mate.

"Hmm, how naive of you! Let's see how long you can keep it up? I'll give you a chance to warm up kid!" still the man ignored you making you growl. Laxus smirks at you wiggling an eyebrow. "Bring it on, I'm waiting!" the older man comments.

"This will be fun! Won't it, babe!" Laxus comments making you nod as you stared at the man who was ignoring you. As fast as lightening Laxus moved his fist connecting with the man, as you run to the other side 'STAR DRAGON ROARRRR' you yelled just missing your target before Laxus and yourself began syncing your attacks with each other.

Chains of magic came flying at you from all directions "YOU PESKY STRAY!" the man screamed at you as you giggled at him and the frustration you were causing him.

"I've not had this much fun in ages!" Jumping the air weaving between all the chains with such precise accuracy until you're above the man, your leg aiming for his head "STAR TALON ATTACK!" you yelled the man grabbing your ankle with such a grip your scream in pain.

"(F/N)!" Laxus yells as you have a chain attached to your ankle and then your throat.

"Strays need to be put down!" the man laughs as you grip the chain trying to break it as the members of Fairytail look on in horror. Your tiny body is being slammed repeatedly into the floor before he stops to deal with Laxus since the dragon slayer goes full out. Lying there limp on the floor, bleeding and bruised a feeling you'd never felt. Physical pain!

'Is this what pain feels like'? you thought to yourself 'Is this how I made people feel'?. Natsu was trying with all his might to crawl to you, his instincts were telling him to get to the girl bleeding out on the floor. Whereas to you, the world was silent for once as you took in a deep breath before you began to push yourself up to your feet, neither Hades or Laxus realising you weren't down.
