Chapter 9. Paradoxes

A day Later.

The Riders have soon begun explaining everything that has happened to them during this past week and and on what's been happening.

"So these beings from beyond the stars came here to get these crystals?" Heather asked, gesturing to the five different colored Gemstones that look like claws of a Dragon. "Are there any more of this?"

The Riders glanced at each other and nodded.

"There are like three more of these gems." Hiccup pulls out something from his satchel bag which are three more Dragon Claw Crystals one is pink, the others two were Silver and Gold. "These gems are called the Dragon Claw Crystals or what we like to call them Power Crystals, They hold the powers which help us turn into the legendary warriors called Power Rangers, the same transformation we turn into to stop Con from attacking."

"Okay, hmm." Heather was now in deep thoughts.

"It's hard to take in huh?" Hiccup asked.

"Yeah, I mean it's really unbelievable if you guys just suddenly told me about this all stuff out of the blue even if that Con guy didn't attack so suddenly like yesterday, I'll have a hard time to believe you but after what happened I think it's safe to say that what you say might be true." Heather admitted to tell them that a part of doesn't want to believe any of this however a part of is so inclined in believing her friends especially her Boyfriend Fishlegs who came with the Twins and Snotlout to look for some information regarding Con The Mercenary.

"Okay let's say we believe what you all say are true but that doesn't explain why that man just came in here and caused a major havoc on my wife's Island?" Dagur asked.

"Yeah, from the way he looks he doesn't seem to be human." Astrid pointed out.

"That is true." Hiccup put his hand together underneath his chin. "But the way he fought us are not the same way Alectron's forces fought he uses some basic attack moves on us in every single attack he made, not only that he seem to be new to his powers."

"Now, come to think of it. It does look like  his attacks are so sudden like they were random and he practically acts as if we were target practice for him." Astrid said.

"He did say that he wanted to 'Test' out his powers and unnatural strength to the best of his abilities against all those strongest opponents he face and from the way he do that, he all straight out and attack you all at some point blank and doesn't even analyze of there's a countermeasure against him. And he just stayed calm and caught you all off guard to beat you." Stated Heather.

"RGH!" Growled Dagur. "Seriously, I'm so frustrated right as if I wanted to pay that guy back!"

Hiccup sighs as he knows what Dagur felt Con had killed many Royal Berserker Guards as well Mala's own men and if he was in their position he knows that he'll do it too.

"I know how you feel very well Dagur, but I think revenge can come later and we should worry about Mala who's due on giving birth." Hiccup suggested and Dagur started his meditation.

"Yeah you're right, Mala poo would be disappointed if she found me all day sulking." Dagur said as he look at the crystals in front of him and counted that they seemed to be only eight of them. "Hey, if these gemstones are meant to be claws of a Mystical Dragon how come there are only eight of them?" He suddenly asked and they all looked at him.

"What do you mean Dagur?" Astrid asked Dagur.

Dagur seems to have started fixing them all up by sizes to form some kind of Fingers. From Red to Green. "See this The Red one looks like the Middle Finger or claw in this matter and it's longer and the blue one is the Index, The Yellow one is the ring finger, the thumb is the fat one the black and the green one is for the Pinky finger and this goes the same for the three." The Two Rangers and Heather look at the Claws in the table as they try to study.

"Oh my Thor, I think you're right, these look like claws of a Dragon." Exclaimed Astrid.

"No wonder they were called Dragon Claw Crystals." Breath out Hiccup in awe. "Oh man, Fishlegs is gonna flip if he learns about this new discovery!" He Laughed at the thought and the others agreed.

"That's Fishlegs for you, he never missed out on anything Dragon related knowledge." Snort Heather.

"And that's one of the reasons why you like about him, do ya huh?" Teases Astrid and Heather blushes in embarrassment.

"Oh shut up, You're one to talk Ms. "Who has a thing for a guy that is a heroic dragon rider type." Kind of guys." Heather said trying to make Astrid remember their talk about who they like back on the edge and Astrid blushed at this.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Astrid said looking away, blushing now as well.

"Anyways, I his we should asked both Ms. Hoxworth Anderson and Guardian about this if these things are indeed claws of a Dragon, they should be ten out of them and two are missing." Hiccup said as he tried to see the missing gaps of these mysteries regarding the Dragon Claw Crystals and their connection to it.

"That's true but let's focus on the matter at hand, like; who's Con The Mercenary and where did he come from?" Astrid added. "And where did he get that rock powers."

"Something tells me that there's more to this than meets the eye." Hiccup said as they all looked outside the window glancing at the sun set on the horizon.

Meanwhile On Alectron's Castle.

The Warlord himself was in a private room as a certain Vampire warrior Dragla came in to approach her Master and bow to him. 

"M'lord, DeathClaw has returned and he has some interesting news." She said.

"About what?" Alectron turns away from the Holographic image of a strange looking weapon that was being built. "This has to be very important." He said, crossing his arms as he turned to face Dragla who had her head down.

"It's about the progress of Project X." She said and smirked. 

"So, Phase two has already begun." Mused Alectron.

"Indeed M'lord, it looks like the manifestation is starting faster than we seem to hope it would."

"Excellent, what else?" Alectron said.

"It looks like he already have brought in one candidate for Project EX-tras."

"That's least to be expected from such primitive beings they have weak immunity even for the likes of Cryztalis." Alectron snorted at that. "Now then, what do you know about the "Candidate" that DeathClaw brought?" He asked.

"Just as you thought M'lord, Human beings have weak links and therefore they took strong side effects of the Cryztalis or the Emerald Crystals. And now with just one word of "encouragement" from DeathClaw he successfully make the EX-tra attack the Rangers head on." Dragla explained.

"And?"

"And he almost won, if it weren't for the Red Ranger to tap into his power and caught the Ex-tra off guard."

"Where's the Ex-tra now?"Alectron asked.

"His being treated on the Medbay right now M'Lord, through the healing tanks." She told him.

"Does he show signs of self  regeneration?" Alectron asked.

"Well…." Before Dragla could answer, Wrenched had burst into the room.

"SIRE, SIRE SIRE!" Wrench exclaimed excitedly.

"WHAT IS IT WRENCH?!" Growled Alectron.

"Oooh, I'm sorry M'lord but sir you gotta see this!" He told his master, causing both Warlord and Dragla to look at each other.

Back in the Lab Wrench ran across the room and went to his computer as both Alectron and Dragla came in as Wrench play something through their monitor.

"Take a look at this!" He gesture to the screen on which got two's attention and raised an eyebrow.

"Okay what the hell are we looking at?" Hissed Dragla.

"I assure you this is very alarming." He pressed something to his console and something played out on the monitor. "See this, it's a diagram reading for a quantum charge." He explained.

"Quantum Charge?" Alectron couldn't help but ask.

"Quantum Charge; it's the name of the energy used for our teleporter pods and Quantum Drives."

"You mean the equipment that helps us goes even faster by breaking through space to another?" Dragla asked.

"Yes, but that's not all." He then shows up two more readings.

"Hmm now what's this?" Alectron asked, pointing at the green line of frequency.

"That M'lord, is the same frequency readings that my equipment scanned while building that Danger Beast Dokugaga to fuel it with Cryztalis and if my calculations are correct." He aligned both lines and soon it turned one big and strong frequency. "The Quantum tunnelling, also known as tunneling is a quantum mechanical phenomenon whereby a wavefunction can propagate through a potential barrier or more. And right now, The energy signatures that my equipments are detecting is from the frequency signal created by not only the Quantum Drive reactor that we installed within Beast Fighter Dokugaga but also it's payload of Cryztalis and if this readings are saying that both Quantum Tunneling and Cryztalis are fusing as one energy can only be one thing." This soon brought the eyes of Dragla and Alectron widen in realization.

"That means…." Dragla began as Alectron finished for him.

"An unfortunate earthling has come in contact with a broken reactor and when it explodes it releases both energy and now is being mutated by it." Laughed The warlord. "How unfortunate indeed,  wrench I want you, Wreckage and Ironclaw goes to the coordinates where you detected those energy readings and brought back the EX-tras!"

"At once M'lord." Wrench said bowing with Dragla. 'If my theories are correct this Human is not only being mutated by the Crysalis but was also given by an unexpected strong and and high level of quantum energy from the Quantum Drive and if the mutation went perfectly he'll be able not only to go places after places as if his teleporting and if he could mastered this powers he can bend both space and time as well and then within power they he might actually opens a breach through another reality.

Back to the Riders.

Snotlout, Fishlegs and The twins were tasked to look for information who's Con The Mercenary which was recognized by one of the Berserker Guards who survived his onslaught on Caldera Cay.

"Man, do we really have to find who this guy is?" Snotlout asked.

"Yeah, I mean didn't we just find out from one those Berserker Guards who that dude was?" Tuffnut added.

"I mean what's the point of this?" Snotlout asked. "We could be out there fighting Alien butts!"

"Yeah, what's the deal here Fishy?" Ruffnut asked and Fishlegs asked.

"Getting a name from the guy who attacks is one thing, getting a background check on who con is and where he came from is completely different." Fishlegs pointed out of them.

"But we already passed like ten booths!" Groan Snotlout.

"We just have to keep looking for information on who's con. And it's also unfortunate for us to attract too much attention." Fishlegs reminded them that they left the Crystals that help them morph.

"Oh right!" Sighed Snotlout.

"But we can't just walk around here all day and keep asking questions about one guy!" Grunted Ruffnut.

"My sis is right, can't we eat first?" Pleaded Tuffnut.

"Okay fine I saw an Inn somewhere here maybe we can get some people there who might know Con is."

NARRATOR: {As the Riders look for clues on who's Con The Mercenary was and why he did what he did and where he got those powers they were unaware that Alectron's army are already making a move as they now plan to retrieve the second Ex-tra.}

Said Ex-tra successfully cracked open a breach around him which pulled in an unexpected stranger with a very familiar looking Dragon With him.

"Toothless, What the hell happened where are we?" The Mask stranger asked and said Dragon made a low growl for him. "Okay so if you can't tell where we are, there can only be one thing and from what I see here, this looks like a work of Demons they're trying to trick us by confusing us so stay alert."

NARRATOR: {As expected a certain event awaits our rangers, as Alectron built his secret weapon that will win him against his battle against the rangers and took the Dragon Claw Crystals, meanwhile Hiccup and Astrid had just discovered some new mystery regarding said Crystals and now are trying to filled in the gaps to connect all dots to their connection to the Dragon Claw Crystals and them being chosen as Rangers and what happened to the other two Crystals.}

Back On Caldera Cay.

As Hiccstrid talks things out with Dagur and Heather who at one point decided to touch the silver and Gold Dragon Claw Crystals.

They soon now have the same bonding as the Riders after touching it.

Meanwhile on Alectron's Castle.

Wolfang was looking over their planetary Surveillance cams searching for the Rangers secret base.

"Come on, give me something useful, We must find the Drakonian Earth based that created that blasted defense Robot, so far it's the only hindrance that prevents us from conquering this planet and claiming what our master own." He keeps switching feeds after feeds to search for a hidden base that's where it all it took as he found a weird looking Island. "Hmm, that Island is most likely a perfect match for our target." He grinned and soon he spoke through the P.A. "M'Lord you better come here to the commander I have good news!"

Back to Wreckage, Ironclaw and Wrenched they soon reach their destination and as expected wrench's equipment started glitching.

"Hmm." Wrench started smacking his small equipment. "As I expected, with the quantum tunneling effects are getting higher a powerful surge of it affects all electronics." He mattered.

"Are you sure we're in the right place?" Ironclaw asked.

"I'm sure my reading are not faulty however if it's glitching that means a surge of the Quantum energy is high and close we better keep moving." Wrench said. 

"Then why don't we cross that forest maybe we have a high chance to find that Ex-tra there." Wreckage suggested.

"Yeah, you better be right." Wrench said. "Then let's go, we can't fail Lord Alectron."

And soon enough they found him floating mid air. They struggle for a whole half an hour to get through him as their minion guards were keep being sent through some broken breaches Wrench theory was indeed correct this Human is now basically a walking teleportation device and now they have to countered this one's unstable control of his quantum Charge and by doing so, Wrench counter it with a device on which absorb the energy around the Ex-tra which in results caused some of the broken pieces of breaches around their target started closing as if the breaking of the reality was stop.

However, what they didn't know was that a Certain Black Dragon Rider was lurking in the shadows thinking they're demons.

As the Riders/Rangers are all accounted for they didn't know that Alectron has finally discovered their secret based Camp Big Falcon.

And Alectron has now plan to use a second Beast Fighter named; Baizanga to attack the base while the Rangers deal with Con who's now completely.

"Now then Con, Are you willing to help me out against the rangers?" Alectron asked.

"Despite parting ways from my clan's old ways and going solo, once a mercenary for hire always a mercenary that is the pride and honor of my clan and the sacred cod and since you help heal me quicker from my wounds, I practically have no choice but to pay my gratitude to you by accepting the deed and finish the job." Con said with a bag of gems and golds attached to his hips.

"Is that so... then go seek out the rangers and claim my prize!" Grinned Alectron as Con bow and was teleported to the Northern Markets where Snotlout, Fishlegs and the Twins were at. "As for you, Go Mighty Baizanga! And destroy Draconic for good!" He laughed maniacally.

( Baizanga looks like from Voltes V but completely different I'll be drawing it tomorrow. )
