Chapter 5

Ink awoke to a black void it felt suffocating; like a blanket was wrapped around him tightly trying to suffocate him to death, but everyone knew that was impossible, but all sense of safety disappeared when his blurry eye sockets had cleared. A white figure stood in front of him with a big wide black smile which had; no teeth, no lips and no other defining features. Just a black crescent, that he knew was a smile. Along with two round circles he assumed were eyes, they, alike the mouth of the figure also were void of defining features. The figures presence sent an unfamiliar sense of dread through him and the never ending blackness that surrounded him only made him dread more, remembering his previously forgotten dream from before that had also happened in a similar setting it caused him to feel more perturbed then before. He struggled to move and to even breath. He tried to speak so he could question the figure but only found himself sputtering and unable to make any tangible sounds.

"Me and the others are growing bored Ink, very bored." The figure said almost accusingly, like he was supposed to have known to entertained them in some way. "Things have grown repetitive and as a consequence, predictable." They said spiting the word out like it had personally offended them.

Ink tried again to say something but was again met with the same results as before, there was no attacking or fleeing from the figure, he couldn't move. He seemed to be in a state of some kind of paralysis, so he could only listen and hope the figure wouldn't hurt him while he was at their mercy.

"But fear not. We've taken it upon ourselves to rid this multiverse of it's repetitive and boring nature" The figure concluded seeming pleased with themself. Ink became even more distressed than he was before, 'Ourselves', was there more he's supposed to be "entertaining"? Ink wondered shocked. "Well, seems I must send you back now as you've been warned. Now," The figure paused, craning their neck to see behind Ink before continuing. "Remember to breathe." A string of laughs echoed eerily behind Ink causing him to freak out more than he already was.

The figure offered Ink a wink, that slightly confused him, however the confusion was quickly replaced with with panic as the previously black space flashed to life covering the void in the wing dings fount that inverted colors along with the figure as the void flashed dizzily from black to white. Ink shut his sockets tightly, successfully rescuing them from the dizzying flashes of the contrasting black and white.
