Talking with Varric as you worked was difficult since your fellow dwarf had obvious feelings towards you, and he wasn't scared to show them, as he tried to charm you with every single way.

Like now you were trying to write down the supplies which had arrived a moment ago, and Varric caught a sight of you - and he knew it was the perfect moment to mess with you.

"How are you, my dear Y/N?" he smirked and you turned your gaze to him.

"Oh, hi Varric." you answered before you tapped your pen to the paper, ensuring you got all the supplies right. And after a successful check, you hopped down from the box and met Varric's eyes, but you quickly averted your gaze from them, knowing what that expression meant.

"You're being shy with me, aren't you?" Varric snickered and you shoved him lightly. You knew this was coming.

"No I'm not!"

"Yes you are!"

You felt blood rushing to your cheeks but you spent all your willpower to prevent it - damn Varric and his flirting, always getting you blushing.

"Please just stop, I'm not being shy with you, I'm just... tired."

"Yeah, tired. Sure." he waved his hand like he was shooing a flea away. "By the way, you're cute when you try not to blush."

Now you were definitely red, but you couldn't give in. Varric grinned and opened his mouth, but you stopped him before he could say anything.

"I'm not blushing! It's cold here, please, let's go inside." you wrapped your arms around yourself to make your lie more believable and Varric sighed before he grinned at you again.

"Okay then... but I know you love me."

You scoffed. "In your dreams, storyteller."

But even though you tried to act like Varric's flirting just annoyed you, you couldn't help the bubbling feeling in your stomach as you listened to them - you were definitely falling for him, but you just couldn't admit it. Not to yourself, and definitely not to the others.
