Random Advice From Emerald
* Most of this is girl advice, so boy(s) be warned! *
• Roll-on perfume bottles are the way to go in life. All you have to do is rub it on, and you can smell nice without the smell being overwhelming. They're great for if you want to freshen up in public or if you have a sensitive nose. Plus they're tiny enough to keep in your purse without taking up too much room.
• When getting ready to peel off stickers off of a new book, grab a hairdryer, put it on hot, and blow dry the sticker for a few seconds before peeling it off easy-peasy.
• If you don't exactly have the whitest teeth, avoid wearing red lipstick. Your lips may look lovely, but the second you open your mouth, your teeth will look very unflattering (and a little bit gross) against the brightness of the red.
• Always always always wash your face every night. It can be with a face soap or with just water. Just wash your face every night.
• If your thighs rub together and it makes your feel uncomfortable while wearing a dress, rub a little bit of deodorant on the inside of your thighs. It works.
• You will always look better in the mirror than in pictures, which is good because the mirror is closest to what you really look like. So you go, girl!
• When it's that time of month, get yourself a heating pad, curl up with it and some blankets, and watch movies. Alternate the heating pad to the various places where you may be hurting until you start feeling better.
• The buddy system is usually the best way to go in literally any situation.
• Other things to keep in your purse: a tiny hairbrush, chapstick, a portable phone charger, tissues, a small notebook, a mechanical pencil, multiple pony tail holders, and at least 16 quarters.
• Oh oh oh and speaking of purses, make sure that you buy ones with secret pockets on the inside. That way you can have a safe place to keep any items you don't want other people seeing.
• When it's that time of month, try to go to the restroom as often as you can if you have to spend a long amount of time in public. Restroom breaks lower the chances of you potentially having a staining issue.
• Stuck in an awkward conversation with someone you don't know that well? Ask them a whole bunch of questions. Do they have any pets? Where did they grow up? What did they do last weekend? Most people feel comfortable when they're talking about themselves, so therefore they'll become more comfortable around you and then you'll feel more comfortable!
• Make eye contact and smile at strangers you pass by in the halls or down the street. If they smile back, it'll make you feel a little bit better.
