Meet the artist

I was born in 1990 in grand ol' Canada-land. I have a BA in Environmental Studies/Geography. From 2010-2016 I worked in various academic and government labs assisting with various environmental science/wildlife/ecology projects involving field work and lab work. I worked as a field tech in the Canadian Arctic for June-July of 2016 (and might be returning in 2017). I am now an animation student at Alqonguin College :D

How long have you been drawing for?

I've been casually doodling since I was about 4 years old, but REALLY started in spring 2004 when I first saw Inuyasha on the TV. I then rapidly became obsessed with all things anime and began drawing seriously. Check out my sketchbook tour video here! Up until starting animation in Sept 2016 I was mostly self-taught, with the exception of a few high school art classes (2006-2008) and some workshops using pencil crayons (2007). I have experience teaching art to beginners as well!

What program do you use?

For digital artworks, I use a combination of Fire Alpaca and Adobe Photoshop (CS3). I draw lineart and colour in Fire Alpaca and use Photoshop for adding effects like gradient overlays, lighting, artistic filters, adjusting curves and histograms etc.

Why I draw Drarry?

Why I draw Drarry - it was my first OTP (one true pairing). I've read A LOT of fanfiction for that pairing - some of my favourites are linked in this post here:

Oh my Goodness, this is the best kiss I have ever drawn, and it's because I used REFERENCE.
I am now at the point where I can draw some of my favourite smutty scenes from HPDM fic and I'll actually like the output. @_@
If anyone's read "Starts with a Spin", that was inspiration for this image. Any HPDM scene works, but I dunno, it just really works well in that fic.

A lot of the 8th-year-epilogue-what-epilogue-harry/draco fanfics out there have them playing private seeker games, where it's just them against the snitch (a really good one is Bond by Anna Fugazzi on A03/ff.net). These games often seem to be a plot device wherein there is a lot of angst and eventually the boys let loose and have fun and then stuff happens.

Harry noticed Malfoy up ahead, smirking back at him, and put on a burst of speed to catch up.
"C'mon on Potter, that snitch won't catch itself!"
The thrill of competition, of simply flying, made Harry's gut flip with an excitement he hadn't felt in forever. An answering smirk opened his mouth and he shouted back, "Oh you're SO on, Malfoy!"
He caught a glint of amusement in Malfoy's eyes as they raced forward.

And bonus:

Harry had stopped for a moment, just hovering near the hoops. Internally he made the excuse that he needed to adjust his glasses, but really he just wanted to watch Malfoy. The Slytherin was casually looping around the pitch, rolling and pitching and dipping this way and that. In their previous games Harry had never had the chance to appreciate how elegant a flyer Malfoy was.

I was too lazy to finish Draco's right hand, but let's pretend it's facing away from the viewer. It looks too much like a stump though so I might have to actually put effort into changing that.. >_>

Been reading a lot of HPDM fanfics lately (what else is new, frig I have no life), and any HPDM probably recognizes certain overused (but no less convenient and awesome) cliches... force bonding of some capacity, private detention with inevitable intimacy, someone being doused in "lust" potion, etc.

My OT3 Seriously they should just all be together (there are some pretty well done ffics out there for it).

More of a sketchy feel to this one, but I like it :D Hermione's hand placements took me a while, and I give up. I think they look okay.. and physically possible.
