I jump to my feet and look at the man standing before me." Ah... my old master, or should I say murderer!" I say venom lacing my voice. He pulls out a sword and I use my magic to make my own sword appear. I pull it back and pounce at my old master slashing my sword every which way. Just like before... I slash his shoulder but unlike before, he stabs my arm. I scream in pain and immediately shut my mouth. Good going big mouth!!! Someone could have heard! I clutch my shoulder and slash again this time hitting his left leg." Gotcha!" I say as he grunts. My victory is short lived as he grabs his sword and stabs me through my chest. I gasp and fall on my back as he pulls his sword out. I am gasping for air when I see two blurs running around. My eyes feel heavy and I feel someone pick me up bridal style. Just before I black out I hear some voices.

"Nicole!!!"
"Kid wait!"
"This girl belongs to the court and she will be punished for her betrayal! Don't worry, your pathetic magicians taught her well she is healing herself as we speak, even if she doesn't know it. The court will see you soon..."
I then closed my eyes unsure if I would ever open them again...

When I wake up I am laying on a table. Oh no... the ceremonial execution table! I didn't know much about the Court of Owls but I did know that if anyone betrayed them then they would execute them brutally... I sit up and feel some pain in my chest, my wound is gone but it's sore. I scowl and hop off the table landing gracefully on my feet. I walk out of the room and quickly take out the guards watching me. You taught me too well... I then Sprint down the hallway avoiding flying arrows and slashing swords. I skid to a stop when I see someone in my way." Move and I won't hurt you..." I say my voice cracking. The Talon laughed and crossed his arms.

"Last time we fought I put my sword through your chest..." he said lunging at me and pushing me up against a wall. I gasp as the wind was knocked out of me. I struggle against his grip as more members of the court appear behind Talon." Time for your execution." He said and I growled." Since you were once a Talon we will give you a special treatment..." he said as he dragged me across the marble floors towards the main room. I screamed and struggled against his grip but he was just two strong.

They hung me up with chains and my hands were now above my head. I was a couple of feet off the ground and I sighed. I'm going to die... I look ahead as the master of the whole court steps forward and clears his throat(but I know it's really a woman)." This girl is being charged with mutiny! Nicole has abandoned us and left us. She was once a powerful Talon and partner, but now she will be punished unless she wants a chance to redeem herself..." the whole court looked at me and I growled.

"I do not regret my actions! You can kill me if you want but I will heal myself with my magic so there's no use trying!" I say confidently. Then my former master steps forward and speaks.

"We could rewrite her brain and change all of her memories... then she could be a Talon forever!" He said and I gasped. I had forgotten about their device that changes a person's brain waves." This process takes almost two days but won't it be worth it?" Talon asked the master and he/she nodded in agreement. I was cut down and dragged away to a private room.

"You'll regret this! DO YOU HEAR ME!? YOU'LL BE SORRY!!!" I scream as they slam the door, locking me in the room with my former master. He hits me on the head making me black out...
