"Hi guys..." I say waving to the team as Zatara introduces me. They wave back and I let my hand fall to my side. They are probably acting too. What if they are only helping me so they can find out what I know? Then they will come for me and kill them! I am snapped out of my daze when Kid Flash puts a hand around my shoulders. He must have seen how nervous I was...

"It's ok, you'll do great!"He whispers in my ear then he speaks out loud." So what's your hero name gonna be?" He asks me crossing his arms. I think about this and shrug.

"How about Kid Fate?" Miss M asked everyone who thought about it and agreed. I smile.

"Kid Fate it is!" I say joyfully. I put on my helmet and make my voice low." Beware the magical and mysterious KID FATE!" I said in a silly voice and flying a little bit off the ground. Everyone laughs and I come back down taking off my helmet. Then I remember something and frown.

"What is wrong new friend?" Aqualad asks me. I look at him and sigh." I don't have a place to stay..." I say quietly, but Kid Flash was close enough to hear me. He smiles and runs around me to Zatara. He whispers something to him and Zatara nods.

"You can stay here at the mountain. Since you don't have any belongings you can move in right away." He said to me and Miss M and Superboy smile. Miss M then told me that they lived here too and that if I need anything, just ask. I nod in agreement and yawn, I was sooooo tired." I will show you to your room and you can get some rest. Tomorrow you will train with me so you can control your powers better." Zatara said to me walking down the hall. I gave the team a wave and followed him to a decent size room at the end of a long hall. I thank him and walk in, the door sliding shut behind me. I wonder if I can make myself change into my pajamas... I wonder to myself. I look down at myself and see that I already changed! What the? I think. I shrug it off and hop on the soft bed, I slide under the covers and fall asleep. But the memories come back...

I look at the three people in front of me and they seem like they are studying me." What do you want!?" I ask them, fear filling my voice and a lump rising in my throat. They answer calmly as if this isn't the first time they've kidnapped someone...

"We want you to be a Talon. It is a great honor and you will learn to fight like the best and in turn, you aid us with your powers." The white suited man said to me." In other words, we teach you to fight and also to control your growing powers and in return you use your gifts to help our organization." The man said again. At the time I didn't see why not, they offered to help me and I help them. I won't be homeless and helpless. It think for a moment before answering.

"I'm in."

I wake up sweating and I yank the covers off of myself. I breath in slow deep breaths. Just a dream, just a... nightmare! I think to myself rubbing my temples when I heard a soft knock on my door. Confused, I get up and open the door. Miss- I mean Megan is standing there in the doorway. When the door is fully open she hugs me tight." Are you okay!? I could sense strong emotion coming off of you from all the way in my room." She said to me looking right in my bright blue eyes. I sigh and let her in. When she is sitting on my bed I look in the mirror and see myself: a 14 year old girl with dark brown hair and bright blue eyes. I rub my tan arm and turn to look at Megan.

"I'm not sure how to explain it..." I say sitting down next to her. She hugs me and smiles.

"If you like, I could look into your mind and we won't have to talk about it..." She said to me and I looked away. Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt for someone to know. Someone to understand... I look back at her and nod. She puts a hand on my head and I could feel her going through my thoughts an memories. She reels back and breaths fast. I start to cry and she hugs me really tight. I don't want her to let go, but she does." I understand now, thank you for sharing." She said getting up and leaving my room. I smile and lay back down... no nightmares tonight! I think and before I knew it, I was asleep.
