(Sonic's P.O.V.)

    It was early morning and only a few hours left until the big battle and Infinite's brilliant plan. I use the word brilliant loosely. To be honest I don't think it'll work. I mean there's so much we still don't know. And despite what I told (Y/N), I don't actually trust Infinite. I'm only helping because of (Y/N). If she wasn't here, that would be a different story. But enough about that. Where's a hog supposed to get food around this place? I end up wandering about until I see something I wish I didn't. "WHAT THE HECK!"

(Infinite's P.O.V.)

    I awake to the sound of the blue one screaming. What's he going on about now? "What seems to be the problem now, hedgehog?" "Problem? PROBLEM?! The problem is that you're in my friend's lap!" Why would he be bothered by that? Wait... Don't tell me... "Sonic, you wouldn't happen to have feelings for little miss (C/T) would you?" His flustered silence is all the answer I need. "Oh, this is delicious... The hero's got a crush MY girl. How cute." "Y-Your girl! I think you need to get your head on straight! She doesn't belong to you!" "Oh? And what? Are you trying to say she belongs to you?" "W-Wha? N-NO! I'm trying to say she doesn't belong to anybody! She's her own person!" I laugh at his reaction, seeing him like this really brightens my mood. I'm only teasing him. It's nice to bring up morale with something playful.

(Reader's P.O.V.)

    I wake up to the sound of Sonic screaming and Zero teasing him about it. "Okay, boys... That's enough of that. You've had your go at each other. Can we please focus on preparing for the fight ahead of us?" They both silently nod. I get up to leave and plant a kiss on Zero's cheek. I look back before exiting. Zero's face looks smug and Sonic next to him looks shocked. What were they even talking about before? I shake the thought out and make some breakfast for everyone. We only got a few hours and there's no way I'm going to battle on an empty stomach. We all ended up eating breakfast in silence. Every now and then I see Zero give Sonic a smug look when he holds my hand or leans on me. Is he trying to make Sonic jealous? After breakfast, we all head to the weapon arsenal to get geared up. Once again Zero does something that makes Sonic angry. He hugs me from behind looking over my shoulder while I'm trying to charge my (F/W) wispon. "How can you put up with him doing that?" Anger a little evident in his tone. I think Zero might be taking it a bit too far with his affectionate antics. "Okay Zero, that's enough. I need to get myself in the right head space or our plan might just fail again." He sighs and gets off of me, going to the whetstone to sharpen his blade. Sonic lets out a sigh soon after. What's wrong with these two?
