(Reader's P.O.V.)

    I watch as the Phantom rises over the distorted horizon. Zero falls over in pain, clutching his head. "Zero! Are you okay?!" I try to rush over to him but I'm blocked by a wall created by the Phantom. "Not so fast, Jewel. You're not going to help them this time. These obstacles need to be crushed. Now just sit right there and look pretty while I destroy these pathetic insects." He encloses me inside a box. I try to escape the walls as I'm forced to watch him hurt my friends. "Please! Stop!" I bang on the wall pleading with him. He ignores me and continues his attack on my friends. His focus is entirely on destroying Sonic. Zero is laying on the distorted ground unable to move from the pain. I want out of this box. My mind is screaming, asking this to stop. "Please! I'll do anything! Just don't hurt them!" "(Y/N)! No! Don't! We can handle this guy! Ahg!" Sonic gets slammed into my invisible cage and falls unconscious. The little Sonic gets knocked out too. The Phantom then turns his attention to Zero. "No... please... Leave him alone! I'll do anything! Just stop already!" He turns to me. "Anything? Do you truly mean your words?" I nod. He starts walking towards my prison when Zero grabs his leg. "(Y/N)... don't... worry about me... I'm fine... Don't listen to him... You're falling right into his trap..." The Phantom kicks him aside. "This is between me and your precious jewel. If you want to live, I suggest you be silent." He stands in front of the cage with a smug expression. "Join me and I'll let them live. Refuse and they perish." Just behind the Phantom, I see Zero shakily rise to his feet with his sword in hand. "Don't do it, he won't do what he says. He's a liar. It's like breathing to him." I hear the Phantom laugh, "Oh, Zero. I am many things, but a liar is not one of them. I believe you are the liar here. Using her to get rid of me. Pretending to be her friend when really you're far worse than me. I want to protect her and you are only looking out for yourself." "That's a lie! I care about her more than you do! You just want a new body to call your own!" I clench my fists. "ISN'T IT MY DECISION?! Shouldn't you be asking me how I feel?! I've already decided! Zero I-"
