"Coming..." I shouted coming down from Vani's room, rubbing and cursing the one disturbing our sleep at this time. It was already half past 1 in the early morning. Again there was a knock at the door. But loudly this time with a manly voice accompanying it. "Adeii Anshu, open the door man" sighed the voice loudly. I was curious and a little scared to open the door. I took the vase nearby and moved towards the door. "If you are not opening now, man, I'm gonna break the door" said the man at the door exasperated. That turned me completely scared. I held the vase tightly and opened the door trembling. And the next moment, I hit the vase hard on his head as the vase slipped out of my hand.

"Aaaahh...ammmaaaaa" he screamed. I was horrified and started screaming along with him, waking everyone in the house. Jay bro came down running, hearing our voices, and held me, calming me down. He then looked at the man in the door, who was rubbing his head and muttering something under his breath. Probably cursing me. Brother was stupefied seeing that man and hugged him so tightly pushing me off. Literally man, pushing?! I felt rage passing through my every vein. Jay anna[brother] had never done this from the time I knew him.

I glared at the duo hugging each other. "Hushhh..my boy near me" said my brother, still hugging him meanwhile that man was looking at me. I, in return, glared at him again. He looked at me annoyed and came out of the hug smiling at Jay bro. But on a true note, I hadn't seen my brother this happy before. His face glowed like he got something very special.

"By the way, why were you guys screaming?" bro asked him. My face turned red in embarrassment. "Ask that creature.." that man said rolling his eyes. How dare he call me a creature?? Do I look like an alien?? Idiot. Brother was totally confused seeing our glares at each other. "Huh..will u guys tell what happened?" anna asked annoyed totally.

"That..brother..I..I.." I was stammering like hell.

"Will you just tell me Emma?" he sounded raged.

"Bro..that.I had..hithimhardonhisheadthinkinghimtobeathief" I said without a gap and turned my head away.

"Re..relax..baby girl..Deep breaths..tell me what happened, but slowly." he asked me calmly, holding my hand squeezing them for my comfort.

All the while that man was looking at me curiously. "Jay bro, I had hit him hard thinking him to be a thief.. I said shutting my eyes tightly. Silence prevailed. I opened my eyes nervously and the next moment, Jay bro was laughing hard holding his stomach, whereas that man looked at me surprised. My face reddened and cheeks warmed up in embarrassment.

"Oh..my.. my...god!! you are too cute my baby girl" anna said laughing and pulled my cheeks. I frowned at him and turned to go, but he just held my hand and mouthed a sorry, still giggling!!

" So, Em..meet him, my boy, my man, my..my..everything, my Abhish. Abhish Raj.." anna said, smiling and overwhelmed with emotions. I looked at that man..I mean, Abhish. His eyes were brimming with tears too.

"Oh..hello..hello..back to Earth brothers..we are here too" Vani's voice brought them back to the world. Abhish's eyes widened with shock as his eyes met Vani's. She winked at him giggling.

"Oh my..my..god!! Is this my Vani kutty[dear]!! God!! She has grown too big. I still remember her coming running towards me and asking for chocolate with that innocent look of hers" he said shocked and neared her.

Vani hugged him tightly and he just shut his eyes and caressed her hair and kissed her top. I looked at them..shocked!! Especially Vani!! I have never seen her hugging any other boys except for Jay anna, Vandhit, and both her dads. I mean Vandhit and hers. She won't be even comfortable among other boys.

"Ok..Ok. Enough of your love exchanges guys. Now Abhi, meet Emma. Vani's besto and my little girl, my little flower" Jay bro said fondly, smiling at me. Abhish..I mean Abhish anna looked at me smiling and waved his hand. I just stood there looking at him. Uh..yeah glaring at him.

I...I just can't digest that he is too close to my Jay bro and my..my Vani.

"Uh..Won't you wave back? Still, do you think I'm a thief, miss!!" he asked me, smirking. "By the way Anshu, I really got a special and emotional welcome. That was reaaallyy gooddd!!" he said, touching his head, smirking and looking at me and Jay anna.

I couldn't stand there and my cheeks were warming up for every passing second due to embarrassment. I ran towards our room and heard faint calls and laughs. I shut our room door and took deep breaths calming my frayed nerves. I clenched my hands into fists and gritted my teeth, thinking how Jay anna and Vani were close with that new man. I knew that they were already too close and knew each other from their diaper days. But..I can't take that..

"Urghhh....let Vandhit come in the morning, I will tell him about all these" I said myself and fell on the bed to resume my sleep.

I woke up hammering that alarm on its top, rubbing and scrunching my nose.

"Good morning sweetheart" greeted aunty, coming inside with her special coffee, my all-time favourite.

I hugged her and greeted her the same and looked around the room to find any traces of Vani's existence. But no! She was nowhere to be found. I asked aunty about her annoyed.

"Oh..Vani..she is in the living room with Jay, your uncle, and Abhish. God!! Jay is very happy seeing him again" she said dreamily. What a worst morning!!

Who asked him to come here!! "Ok..Emma, just come down freshening up, and let's have bf together. It would be too fun being with Abhish" aunty squeaked in excitement and I faked her a smile and went to freshen up.

"Hey..Vandhit..hel.." I came down running seeing him at the door but was cut off by Vandhit.

"Abhish..." he shouted surprised and stood there with his mouth hung open, looking at Abhish. He just came running and embraced him in his arms and let out a deep sigh as if he got his SWEETHEART. I looked at them rolling my eyes. Again, everyone didn't bother to look at me. Even this Vandhit. How dare he ignore me!!

"Yaar..how much I missed you man!! How are you??" Vandhit asked him hugging. But Abhish just pushed him off and crossed his arms over his chest and looked at Vandhit with brows up.

"Uh..who are you?? I don't even remember you!! Uncle who is he?? Do you know him?" he asked, looking at Krishu uncle. Uncle just shrugged and turned away controlling his laughs.

Jay anna was giggling, even Vani. But Abhish stood there as if nothing big happened.

"Hey..I'm sorry. I'm really sorry yaar." begged Vandhit. Again, I'm shocked. Vandhit had never pleaded with me like this. He would just tease me and would go away laughing.

"Sorry, Mister. I don't know you" Abhish said looking at him and moved to the dining table to dig his bf. Vandhit pouted sadly and neared me. I was like, Finally!! But the thing he asked me was enough for me to kill him.

"Hey, Em...please yaar. Be my saviour this time. Help me in coaxing him, girl" he asked me. No hi, no hello. Even we were meeting after 2 weeks.

"Hey Em..back to the world. Help me" he said snapping his fingers in front of my face.

"I am going to eat. Bye" I snapped at him angrily and went to the dining huffing.

"Abhi...I'm sorry yaar...Really sorry..look at me boy.." Vandhit sat near me pouting sadly. But Abhish looked unbothered. How arrogant!!

"Abhish...I'm really sorry dear. I was all caught up in these official works. I didn't get time yaar. It..it doesn't mean I don't love you" pleaded Vandhit. I was like breaking his face. He..he..never did this to me.

"Ok..ok..now don't glare at me as if you will eat me raw" gulped Vandhit looking at Abhish's glare. Everyone was giggling looking at Vandhit.

"What bothers you? Go man, do your works. After all, they are important to you. Why will you even care? What bothers you about my existence?" Abhish retorted. Everyone turned somber.

"Abhish.." gasped Jay anna.

"Mind your tongue, Mr. Abhish Raj. Don't you dare to open your mouth" spoke Vandhit, rage evident in his eyes.

"Why shouldn't I man? What did you do? Spoke with me only twice in this entire year. That too for a few minutes and you didn't even attend my calls right?? What do you expect me to do? Hug you and pepper your face with kisses!!" yelled Abhish, holding Vandhit's tee. I looked at him, rolling my eyes. Who wanted his kiss? Pervert. "I..I..I'm..sorry..I..didn't mean..to..hu..hurt you" whispered Vandhit with his head hung down.

"Chal theek hai..chodo wo sab[Ok fine..leave it] eat now. You are forg.." started Abhish but Vandhit cut him off in the middle and started shouting in excitement.

"I know what you are saying. Yippee.." shouted Vandhit and hugged him again tightly as if he would run away. But if he does so, I would be dancing like a maniac. Abhish smacked Vandhit's head, and hugged him back grinning. Hushh..overacting.

Too melodramatic. Huh!! Thank god!! After all those dramas, they let us eat in peace yet, both were doing something or other like smacking heads, kicking each other's legs. "Idiots" I mumbled under my breath and stuffed the food into my mouth glaring at everyone.

I came to the living room and sat on the couch with a thud and took my phone scrolling it up and down, with no idea what to do!! Only thing going in my mind was Abhish. Abhish Raj. Who the hell he was? Why was he pampered by the whole family? I just dunno what Vandhit's parents would do, when they meet him?

"So..hi..Miss.." his voice brought me back from my thoughts.

"That is Emma" I snapped back.

"Uh..o..ok..So Emma..I..I'm Abhish, Jayansh and Vandhit's childhood friend" he said smiling.

"As if I dunno" I muttered.

"Excuse me?!" he asked, confused.

"Huh.. nothing..I know.." I said with a plain face.

"Oh..okay..Do you mind if I sit here?" he asked, pointing to the seat near me.

"Oh C'mon Mister..you can..why do you even want my permission? As if you took mine, asking permission" I muttered the last line.

He was taken aback by the tone I used but just nodded and sat near.

"Uhmm..I'm sorry for my act early morning..I..I..didn't mean to hurt you..I'm sorry" I said looking everywhere but him.

"No..no problem dear. I'm okay..I can understand. Don't worry" he said smiling. I just hummed in response.

"Abhi..let's go out today..What say?" Vandhit asked, wiggling his brows.

"Ok..fine. Now stop that stupid expression of yours" Abhish said making a gagging sound.

"By the way Emma, do you mind coming with us Miss?" he asked me curiously. "Why won't she come anna?? There is no fun without her" said Vani winking.

"Yeah..after all, whom will I tease??" asked Vandhit, chuckling.

"Am I really with you guys only for fun? Do you guys need me only for teasing and making fun of me?" I asked gasping.

"Yes of course, what do you think then?" asked Vandhit amused. I looked at him with wide eyes and the next moment, I took the cushion near me and started hitting me until Jay anna stopped me.

"Abhi..stop your nonsense..." said Abhish glaring at Vandhit.

After an hour of their banter, we five left to the mall nearby for our so-called window shopping. I was hell bored. They four were talking and pulling each other. I felt left out. Not that they were not considering me. They did. But his presence didn't go well with me. I know that was wrong.

But I couldn't help. I ENVIED HIM. For being too close with my people. Yeah..Mine. "Hey Em..look, we neared your favorite shop. Chocolates" yelled Vani.

"Vani....." I glared at her. I hate chocolates. "Yipee..it is my thing. Mutual liking Emma" sounded Abhish merrily.

Everyone started to laugh hearing him. He looked at them irritated.

"Abhish..I mean brother..I hate chocolates" I said to him, glaring at these stupids.

"What!! You don't like chocolates" he almost shouted, gaining everyone's attention on the floor.

"So, what's the big deal?? Why are you shouting for that?" I asked him angrily.

He looked at everyone embarrassed, "I..I..m sorry..It's just..sorry.." he whispered. I shook my head at him rolling my eyes.

Silence prevailed until my eyes caught a video game shop. I squealed and ran towards the shop. My love for video games had never faded still. Jay anna smiled looking at my excitement. My eyes widened in shock as I hadn't seen this shop in this mall. Maybe a new one. I was exploring all the new games.

"Brother...." I shouted.

"Hey what happened?" Abhish came running hearing my shout. Why did he come here?

"Huh..I was calling Jay anna not you" I said to him with a straight face. He was taken aback. Probably he didn't expect this, he just gave me a faint smile and left the place.

"Emma..Is that how you will speak?" Vani asked, nearing me, her eyes shot daggers.

I just rolled my eyes at her and as on cue Jay anna came. "Baby girl, were you calling me?" he asked.

I bobbed my head, pointing at a video game in the rack. TOMB RAIDER. He winked at me and took that for billing. I followed him like a puppy jumping and rubbing my hands in excitement. I was on cloud nine as I got my game. Kiddish me!! Defects man!! defects!! Again, they 4 clubbed together and were pulling each other's leg.

I felt lonely!! I paced up and moved ahead of them. I just couldn't tolerate my guys being close with some random fellow!! I fisted my hands and suddenly a pair of strong arms pulled me back. I screamed in shock.

"Hey it's me. Abhish........Relax" he whispered in my ear.

I snapped open my eyes and pulled away from him, jerking his hands away. I glared at him.

"Emma..you okay??" he asked concerned. How fake!! Pervert!!

"Mr. Abhish Raj. That's your limit and you have crossed it. How dare you pull me? Maintain your distance" I shouted at my top voice.

Vani and others came running. "Emma...Control your tongue" chided Vandhit.

"Why should I? This man has crossed all his limits. Pervert!!" I shouted again, glaring at both Vandhit and that monster.

"Emma..shut up.." yelled Vani, holding my shoulders tightly.

"You just shut up Vanathi" I clamoured at her. I was losing my sanity and my mind was of no help. I turned at Abhish, glaring and yelled "You mister, don't you know how to behave? Is this how you were bought up?"

His face turned pale. "Emma. Now you have crossed your limits. Just shut up and move from here.  You were about to hit that door and he just stopped you" Jay bhai said to me gritting his teeth.

I looked at him with tears in my eyes. "Anna.. but he was..." I was cut in the middle by bhai "I.SAID.LEAVE.EMMA" he shouted and his eyes were red in anger.

My knees turned jelly and I looked at him with wide eyes and those traitor tears were rolling down.

"Anshu..have lost your senses??" shouted Abhish. Vani and Vandhit were holding me to make me stand and they were shocked too.

"Emma..that.." I stopped Abhish signalling with my hands.

"I will leave brother and I realize her words now" my voice came like a whisper. I left the place, giving him the game he bought me.

I entered my home and my dam broke. I started to wail loudly. Jay anna's words were still ringing in my ears. I couldn't... He was, he is and he will always be my brother. I even hate to share him with Vani, though he is her brother. But..today, I lost him. I went to my room and fell on my bed crying, pressing my face inside the pillow, preventing the sound from going outside.

"Emma..put these words into your empty brain. You have no family. You have only friends..Friends can never become family and family can never become friends..You can never have family. You unlucky girl..Get this into your head you, bloody dog!!" her words rang in my head again. But this time, it went too deep. She was right. THAT'S TRUE!!
