Characters Insight
We almost had four main leads in our book, with many notable supporting characters who had created an exceptional impression and had been the driving factors of twists and realisations. And, I thought of giving a brief insight into some of our characters. So, let's get started!
Vanathi:
We met her as a woman who was feeling vulnerable and broken. Unknown to her, she had fury on Vandhit, her close friend whom she married and got divorced. Of course, that's logical! It's our human psychology to get angry at things or persons who are one of the reasons for our sufferings and she faced the same. But, she never hated him nor despised him. Though she suffered, she never let him blame himself.
She stood for him, she was there to hold him, whenever he was about to fall and, indeed, she's his sunshine in his scary nights! I would say that she is the iron lady of our book. Though facing humiliations, she held her head high and spread love. And this is how we women should be! Face the world with heads upright and, hearts as strong as steel!
Vandhit Acharya:
We were introduced to him as the ex-husband of Vanathi and, as the CEO cum founder of the Acharya Productions. Initially, after hearing his story about her being his childhood crush and after realizing the current scenario of their relationship, somewhere in our hearts, we assumed him as the reason for Vani's suffering. And that's what he went through. Guilt and pain of destroying his friend's life. But had he? He had rather helped her to witness what wedding is on its real means, by divorcing her.
Though he knew she would suffer a lot and by watching her suffering, he would die for every passing day, he let her go. He became her moral support, a kind of support we all may not get. He always kept her in his prayers not because she's suffering but because he loves her and could never tolerate anything less than best for her. He's the angel in disguise for Vanathi and, I would say he had taught us, especially me that loving and caring for someone unconditionally would always bring peace to our hearts when we witness them being joyful.
Emma Summers:
Our feisty yet sweet girl! Oh god, she's just a baby for me! She's the girl of sassy comments and a heart of gold. We know the trauma she faced in her life and, the wall she had built around herself. She had thought that she has no one to call her family. Was she right? Nope! She got a big family and she's very possessive of them. A scratch on anyone among them, the person who caused it would be found buried deep inside the ground.
She had always stood with her friends. Whenever they need a shoulder to cry on, she stood right in front of them, opening her hands wide. She always cared for them and love them all unconditionally. She's known for her childishness and stubbornness and was pampered by everyone. She had been the apple of their eyes. She's the kind of friend and sister whom we all should get in our lives, who would stand by us and kick off the obstacles.
Abhish Raj:
Ah! My heartthrob! What can I say? Handsome? Brilliant? Oh, he's the mixture of everything! Okay, I'm exaggerating, I admit. He's a man who defines the word gratitude and love from all angles. The families of his friends had showered him with love which he was deprived of. He let go of the past and led a practical life. But would the grief subside? It won't. Though he had accepted everything he wasn't ready to forget and forgive and, he was afraid of facing it all again.
He's the man, who's down to the Earth. He's the man who values the importance of relationships and the intensity it holds up. For the love the families had given him, he's being forever grateful for them by standing and facing the chaos on their behalf. He is that loyal fellow for whom we all look to have with us. But shouldn't we be the same when we expect someone to be? We all should be grateful for everything we got from people. It may be small or big but being grateful is important as it defines who we are!
Jayansh:
Aww... such a sweetheart he is! Isn't he? He's a supporting character, to be honest. But the role he played in every one's life is abundant. He had changed them to good. He laments for not being with his sister and friend when his parents decided to get them married. He blames himself for not breaking the wall that his baby sister, Emma had built around herself. He felt devastated when his soul friend faced all the chaos at the small age of 15.
But, he made to sure recreate their lives. He indirectly took the role of being the mender and healer in their lives. And you guess what? He did it. He loved Emma more than his sister and pampered her which indirectly made Emma realize that she got a big family. He held Abhi's hand firmly, without letting him vanish in the ocean of sorrows by pulling him along. He made Vani and Vandhit realize that nothing had happened wrong with them and taught them to look for new meaning in everything they see and experience. He pulled Vandhit out of his guilt and, made Vani stand for her life. In short, he's the kind of brother and friend we all wanted!
Mr & Mrs Krishan and Mr & Mrs Acharya:
Parents of all the kids. Though they had made a blunder by getting their kids married, they grieved for it for years. But they never restrained them from meeting and caring for each other. They loved not only loved their kids but also others. Imagine if they had ignored Abhi and Emma when they were undergoing lots of pain, would these two ever overcome their pains? Imagine if they had restrained Vanathi and Vandhit's relationship after their divorce, would they ever found peace in their lives? A big NO!
And I genuinely feel that every parent of our society should have this kind of mentality. As said, the intentions of people matters. There is no need to react to some random person's comments and, there is no need to live our lives thinking about others speculation if the intentions are pure. Sorry if this had offended anyone here!
Mr Andrew Summers:
Our Andrew uncle, who's the reason behind everything I would say. I mean, if he hadn't helped Vandhit's dad during his financial crisis, their kids would have missed a lot of relationships. Being a single parent, he had raised his daughter like a princess with a heart of gold.
Riddhima, Vikas, Rupali and Brinda:
As I said, some supporting roles had helped the main leads in everything. They are those supporting roles who had helped our main leads.
Vikas and Riddhima had loved their better halves unconditionally which helped them love their life and themselves once again. These two had taught Vani and Abhi to have a new perspective of life which is only filled with love, care, support and motivation.
Rupali and Brinda had relieved their soulmates from worry. Both Vandhit and Jayansh were afraid that they couldn't have the same relationship with their lovable ones throughout their lives. But these young and lovely ladies hugged them tight and said, "We would love everything and everyone around you." Thus made their way into our men's hearts and their families hearts.
I have a lot of reasons for starting this book. Basically, I wanted to write something simple yet with deep meaning. Secondly, I wanted to introspect myself on my understanding of life and wanted to pen down my views on it. Successfully I had done both I guess.
The more and more I wrote about the characters, their pasts, their emotions, the more I learned. I can see that I have transformed while writing this book. I can now view the lives of others by putting myself in their shoes and, I started to respect and understand the emotions of people even more. Thus, I don't know whether this book had given something valuable to my readers, but it had given me a lot and would always give something new for every read I take on this book.
And I hope I have justification for this book with the epilogues as it contains a leap of two years and depicts how their lives are going after they resolved their pains and stuff.
So as the book is completed, I have a few questions for you all.
1) Who is(are) your favourite characters and why?
2) Which is your favourite scene or incident from the book and why?
3) Would you guys like it if I start a book that will contain one-shots in the POV's of our supporting characters. Like Jay's POV when he got to know about Vandhit's and Vanthi's wedding. Would you guys like it?
Please don't scroll down without answering these questions above as this will be the last time I would be asking questions regarding this book and I think, I deserve to know your views on my book *pleads with puppy eyes*
