- Chapter 3 -

Dive and Survive

Mercenary's POV

Waking up on the couch to the song Carry on Wayward Son by Kansas isn't so bad. Until you begin to feel a pain in your neck because you slept in an uncomfortable position.

Grabbing onto my neck I began to look around angrily while sitting up. I was angry at the fact that I woke up from a deep and comfortable sleep and question why I would have an alarm for that time.

But then I remembered that Kimberly wanted to meet up. I got off the couch got my backpack put a water, some snacks, and a towel just like Kimberly had asked before I went to sleep.

And then I walked out the door, I was going to drive there but realized it was nice out so I decided to walk instead. Once I had neared I checked the time on my phone.

6:40

Okay so I'm early hopefully she won't take long. I slipped through the gates and began to walk in the direction where Kimberly wanted to meet at.

"What are you doin up here?" Someone had asked me while I walked up the mountain. I turned to look at a random girl who had her hands placed on her hips.

"Y'know you're trespassing right?" she told me. I rolled my eyes at what she had said, "Yeah you are too. Wanna be friends?" I asked and then laughed out loud.

Somehow I got her to laugh along with me. "You're weird." she told me and I responded with," Yeah but all the best people are."

Which caused her to laugh. " But sure why not my names Trini with a t, Trini Kwan." She told me while walking closer to me.

"Hi Trini with a t my name's Mercenary Williams. And yeah I know it's an odd name." She had laughed, " That is an odd name but real cool too."

I laughed also seeing as it is the second time today that someone has said that to me.

"Well Trini I'd like to stay but I gotta go somewhere wanna exchange numbers?" She nodded her head and I pulled out my phone to get the third number of the day. Well I'm on a roll ain't I.

She then handed my phone back, "Alrighty then see ya later." I finished her sentence by saying, "Alligator." We both quickly glanced at each other and laughed. We then waved and walked our separate ways.

As I began walking the direction Kimberly told me to, I yank my phone back out and text her.

Mercenary :

Hey I'm by the edge of the forest just like you asked where are you? ~ M

Kim :

Okay omw xo - Kim

Mercenary :

Hurry it's creepy out here... ~ M

Kim :

I'm near calm down xo - Kim

Mercenary :

Okay whatever ~ M

Then as I begin to start walking away, thinking that she actually stood me up, I hear leaves crunching.

"Hey, where you goin?" Kimberly asked seeing as she saw me begin to walk away. Flustered I turn to look at her, on her face was a questioning look.

"Oh uh nowhere so what are we doing here?" I ask her but she didn't respond instead she motioned with her hand to follow her.

Of course I am skeptical but I decide just to follow her. After walking up the mountain in complete silence, we come to a stop.

And this is the part where I believe I had done something to piss her off. Because right now we are standing near a cliff, she's probably planning on killing me and throwing my body off the cliff.

She probably knows I have no one to go home to, so it makes it easier for her to kill me, nobody will search for me. As sad as it sounds it's true.

Thinking about this had made me a bit sad, but I pushed it to the side.

As if sensing my assumptions she begins to explain, " No I'm not going to kill you," I let out an unsure sigh.

"I brought you up here because this is like my secret place. I don't bring people up here, I come alone and dive off the cliff. You should try it, clear your mind off of things, y'know."

I walked closer to the edge and decided why not, so I nodded my head. I turned to her to see her looking at her phone with an angry look.

" Uh sorry Mercenary I really was planning on hanging out but somethin came up. I'm gonna go for a hike to clear my mind, okay?" she asked me unsure of what reaction she would receive.

"No worries I'll just stay here for a bit and take a dive or two." I told her silently wishing she would stay and not leave me here alone with my thoughts.

But to my dismay she nodded and began to walk away waving bye and so we exchanged our, "See you later's" and she was gone.

I sighed and began to take off my clothes to take a dive, when at the corner of my eye I saw a body. Without turning I continued undressing leaving me in my undergarments.

I then ran did a front flip in the air and dived off the cliff, while doing this I heard a not so silent, "No way."

Once I hit the water I decided I would swim underneath and take a path that I saw to go confront my stalker from behind.

While I began walking back to where my clothes were I heard a familiar voice yell out, "Williams! Hey Mercenary where are you?" with worry in their voice.

I then looked closer to see Jason Scott begin to undress. He possibly thought I was drowning and wanted to save me.

Then I interfered.
