A Lesson Learned The Hard Way

"Please! Please! Please!" Evie cried out as she looked at her twin sister. "No, absolutely not!" The eleven year old told her twin as she was sick of being Evie's test subject. "Please I really need more practice," Evie told her sister, making Lola sigh as she paused her show knowing she wasn't going to win this argument.

"Fine! But you better not cut me this time!" Lola told her sister making Evie groan. "For the last time it was an accident!" Evie told Lola, making the slightly older girl smirk. "No it's called malpractice.Oh I kinda like that name Mal. I'm gonna write it down. Maybe I can use it when I have kids," Lola playfully told her sister, making Evie look at her in shock.

"Okay first of all, since when do you know big words and second of all why would anyone name their child Mal," Evie asked, making Lola laugh. "Since you started leaving your flashcards out and I don't know it just sounds right to me. I can't really explain it," Lola told her sister, making Evie sigh.

"So we doing this or what because I got some Victorious to watch," Lola told the slightly younger girl, causing Evie to nod as she quickly grabbed her doctor bag and got set up.

"So do you want to go play at the park after this," Lola asked her sister trying to create conversation as she always felt so uncomfortable when Evie would make her do this. "Shh! I'm trying to focus. Have you had any pain lately?" Evie asked her sister in her serious tone that Lola always knew meant she wasn't playing around.

"Not really I mean I do have cramps, but mom said those are normal with periods," Lola told Evie who just nodded as she started writing that down. "So you have your period?" Evie asked her twin, making Lola roll her eyes as Evie knew that already considering they were synched up.

"Okay now how long have you had your period for?" Evie asked, trying to act like a professional. "The same amount of time as you considering we got it at the same time," Lola told her sister with an attitude as she knew Evie was trying to act professional but she found it annoying when Evie asked her questions she already knew the answer to.

"Lola we're acting like I don't know you remember. Now again how long have you had your period for," Evie told her twin sister making the brunette sigh. "It started a few days ago," Lola told Evie who nodded.

"I see and are your flows normal and regular?" Evie asked, making Lola groan as they had just gotten their first period a few days ago. "What does that even mean!" Lola practically screamed out as she was hating all the questions Evie was asking.

"Have there been heavy flows?" Evie asked Lola who shrugged. "I don't know," Lola told Evie who looked at her like she was crazy. "How do you not know! Do you not pay attention to how much blood is coming out of you!" Evie cried out as Lola was starting to concern her for real.

"There is none the tampon is in," Lola told Evie whose eyes widened as she looked at her sister in panic. "What! You're kidding right! Please tell me you're kidding," Evie asked her sister in concern as she had been learning about the dangers of leaving tampons in too long.

"No, why would I do that," Lola asked the slightly younger girl who just looked at her again like she was insane. "You're supposed to change them out all the time! And never I mean never leave them in past 8 hours! Lola are you crazy! When's the last time you changed that one out!" Evie asked, making Lola start to panic as she didn't like how freaked out Evie was getting.

"I don't know a few days now. What's the harm?" Lola asked, trying to mask her concern. "A few days! Oh my god! Lola are you insane! Take that one out right now! And put this on!" Evie quickly told her sister as she handed her a pad.

"What's going on! E you're scaring me!" Lola asked Evie as she began to panic and didn't like how urgent Evie was being without even telling her what was going on. "Lola I'm not playing! Go take it out now!" Evie screamed out, making Lola quickly run to the bathroom, but she came back a few minutes later looking panicked.

"What's wrong!" Evie asked Lola who just started crying as she was scared. "I don't know, I feel really sick right now and I can't get it out. Evie I'm scared. What's going to happen to me," Lola cried out as she quickly sat down and put her head in her knees as she was feeling light headed.

Evie immediately ran to her sister as she gently moved Lola's head up, so she was looking at her. "Lola it's okay. I'm sorry I reacted like that a doctor isn't supposed to do that," Evie told her sister in her gentle voice trying to calm her down as she could tell she really freaked Lola out.

"I'm scared Evie," Lola cried out again causing Evie to nod as she was still worried about her sister, but didn't want to freak Lola out again. "I know, come on. Why don't you try again," the blue haired girl told her sister who just shook her head no as she didn't want to stand up.

"I can't! I still feel dizzy and I feel like I'm gonna throw up," Lola told Evie who just nodded as she helped Lola stand up but as soon as the eleven year old stood up she felt her stomach start to turn as she immediately ran to the bathroom and emptied her stomach.

The blue haired eleven year old quickly ran after her as she helped hold back Lola's hair. "You done now?" Evie asked Lola who just nodded as she kept crying

"Lola it's okay. Why don't you try to get it out again and then we can talk about what to do next okay," Evie told her sister as she tried to remain calm but this was scaring her too. Evie had never been in a situation like this before and it didn't help that their parents weren't home again.

Lola just nodded as Evie quickly left the bathroom and she tried again but just like last time she couldn't do it as she quickly ran back out to Evie.

"You couldn't do it again could you?" Evie asked Lola who just nodded. "Okay come on let's take a look," Evie began but Lola immediately shook her head no as she looked at her like she was insane.

"No are you crazy! I'm not letting you do that! That's gross!" Lola cried out in disgust, making Evie roll her eyes as she went to her bag and pulled out her tools.

"Lola you could get toxic shock syndrome! We can't drive yet and mom and dad are gone again. It's okay I've been preparing for this! You trust me don't you?" Evie told her sister who just looked at the tools in Evie's hands as she took a deep breath.

"I trust you but I don't like the idea of you doing this," Lola told her sister who nodded. "I know but Lola I'm dead serious you could get toxic shock and I am studying to be a doctor. In fact I'm about to start college for a medical field degree," Evie told Lola who just sighed as she knew she could trust her she just hated this.

"Fine! But you wear that stupid mask so I don't have to recognize that it's you and I'm wearing a blind fold and headphones," Lola told Evie who nodded.

"Okay come on now just lay down," Evie told her sister who just did what she was told as she just closed her eyes and tried to not think about what was going on.

"Ow Evie what are you doing!" Lola cried out in pain. "Sorry! I should have used a smaller speculum," Evie told Lola who was going to question her but decided against it as she just wanted this over with.

"Well just hurry up!" Lola told Evie who nodded again. "Okay I see it. This might hurt a little," Evie told Lola as she stuck the clamps in and grabbed the tampon out.

"Is it out yet?" Lola asked Evie who smiled and nodded as she had basically just performed her first actual medical procedure.

"So what have we learned today?" Evie asked her sister once she had finished and it had been confirmed that Lola didn't have toxic shock or any other infections. And her dizziness and nausea were just part of nerves and anxiousness.

"I learned never let you play Doctor with me again," Lola told Evie as she winced a little in pain, making Evie frown.

"Or you could thank me for saving your life and promise not to ever use a tampon again or at the very least change it out before the 8 hour mark," Evie told Lola who just shrugged.

"I guess that is true. Thanks E but let's just agree to never speak of this again and I'm definitely using pads from now on," Lola told Evie who laughed as the two hugged. "Of course just doing my job and agreed we're never telling anyone about this," Evie told Lola, making the two laugh together.

Author's Note: I hope you enjoyed this. I know it was probably a little weird, but it just kinda came to me and I kind of just started writing. Anyway please let me know what you all thought and if you have any ideas for another one shot involving Lola and Evie growing up together please let me know. Again I'm really sorry for how weird this one was.
