((This is my second or third time in six months. I have no shame.))

((Also, ship ideas for the twins? I have already done Artemis, Jason, Wally, and Zatanna. (Not telling who for which twin bc spoilers for Displaced and Emancipation and my Robin's Cousin series) But do y'all have anyone you'd like to see them with?))

Washington, D.C.

July 04, 14:00 EDT

"Welcome to the Hall of Justice." Green Arrow smiled proudly at Speedy as he stood with Batman, Robin, Aquaman, and Aqualad before the grand building.

"Headquarters of the Justice League." Aquaman added, hands on his hips.

"Oh man." The group of heroes turned around to see Flash and Kid Flash zoom up, the younger  of the two speedsters crossing his arms over his chest. "I knew we'd be the last ones here."

The group talked for a few minutes before making their way towards the building, walking through a mob of people snapping pictures of them. Speedy snapped at Kid Flash not to call them sidekicks anymore and Kid Flash apologized, stating that he was overwhelmed.

"You're overwhelmed, Freeze was underwhelmed, why isn't anyone ever just whelmed?" Robin mused, entering the building to see the gigantic statues of the founding seven members of the Justice League. "Oh, maybe that's why."

The doors beneath the statues opened, revealing Red Tornado and Martian Manhunter, who greeted the younger heroes and welcomed them into the inner sanctum, listing off the privileges they now had. Kid Flash and Robin bumped fists as they followed the two Justice League members into the inner sanctum. The teens all took seats except for Speedy, who crossed his arms and glared at the backs of the League members as they went to leave for a quick meeting.

"That's it? You promised us a real look inside, not a glorified back stage pass." He growled.

"Its a first step, you've been granted access few others get." Aquaman tried to calm the oldest teen down.

Speedy went on a rant about respect while Green Arrow tried to get him to stay, ultimately failing as Speedy tossed his hat on the ground and stormed off, leaving everyone in a stunned silence.

That is until the computer went off, alerting everyone of an incoming message from Superman. He told the Justice League of a fire at Project Cadmus before being interrupted by Zatara, who alerted them of Wotan's plan to blot out the sun. Superman admitted the fire was small and that local authorities could handle it before disconnecting.

Batman told the remaining teens - Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Robin - to stay put as they weren't ready to deal with League threats before exiting with the rest of the Justice League members that were present. The three remaining teens quickly decided together to go to Project Cadmus to solve the Justice League's case before them, as a sort of poetic justice, Robin hacking the computer to get the coordinates and information they needed on Project Cadmus before they took off.

It wasn't long before they arrived at the site of the fire, Kid Flash running ahead to save two men falling from the building after an explosion knocked them out of the window.  Robin was right behind him, running up the fire engine to grapple into the building, helping Kid Flash into the window. Aqualad used the firemen's hose water to create water twisters to raise him to the window so he could climb in.

"Appreciate the help." He chided his companions.

"You handled it. Besides, we're here to investigate. Poetic justice, remember." Robin replied with a smirk, typing away at a computer while Kid Flash looked through files.

Aqualad walked into the hallway, staring off at the elevator at a strange creature as the doors closed. "There's something in the-"

"Elevators should be locked down." Kid Flash cut him off as Robin raced by.

"This is wrong." Robin pulled up his holographic gauntlet, showing the path of the elevator. It went much deeper than the building.

Aqualad pried the doors open, staring down the deep shaft. Robin shot a cable up at the ceiling, catapulting himself down into the elevator with the other two in tow. They landed on floor twenty six. Aqualad opened the doors and they stared at the wall to wall basins before Kid Flash took off running, ignoring Aqualad's call. He stumbled to a stop when he saw these giant monstrosities walking on four limbs in a line go by, nearly crushing him, Robin and Aqualad racing to catch up to him.

"No, nothing odd going on here." Aqualad stared in awe at the beasts as they walked by.

The trio continued onwards through the level, coming upon floor to ceiling containers with creatures inside of them, electrified. Robin went up to the computer, plugging his gauntlet in. "They call them genomorphs. Wow, look at the stats on these things. They're living weapons. Wait, there is more. Project Kr and Project Ag. Both are triple encrypted, I can't - "

"Don't move."

The trio of former sidekicks froze as a man known as Guardian ran into the room. He had one of the genomorph creatures on his shoulder. They tried to reason with him, almost getting through to him, but ultimately had to fight him, narrowly escaping. They followed Robin to the lowest level, where the two mystery projects were being held. The doors opened and they raced out, being spotted by that mystery creature Aqualad had noticed heading into the elevator on the top floor. They ran down one of the hallways to the door marked Kr, making it inside before Guardian and his army of beasts caught them.

"We're safe."

"We're trapped." Aqualad corrected Robin.

"Uh, guys? You might want to see this." Kid Flash called over to his companions. They walked over as he raised the lights, eyes widening when they say what was in the containment chamber.

A young clone of Superman.

Kid Flash walked up to the chamber. "Big K, little r, the atomic symbol for Krypton."

"Robin, hack."

Robin told the two others everything he learned about the clone, designated Superboy. Kid Flash stated how wrong it was that they were keeping the clone like this and Aqualad told Robin to set the clone free. Robin did just that.

The clone opened his eyes and flew straight at Aqualad, tackling him. He punched him multiple times in the face before Kid Flash and Robin tried to yank him off. Superboy easily took down the three of them, knocking them all unconscious before opening the door for the Cadmus scientists waiting outside.

Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqualad woke up strapped in their own containment chambers, staring down Superboy on the other side.

"What? What do you want?" Kid Flash frantically asked, unnerved by the telepathic voice he heard in his head that woke him up. "Quit staring your creeping me out."

"Uh, KF, how bout we not tick off the guy who can fry us with a look?" Robin warned his friend. He started to pick at his locked wrist with a hidden lock pick while his friends talked to Superboy about his life and tried to turn him to their side.

They were making progress when the head scientist came in and sent Superboy away, placing a genomorph on his shoulder. Superboy walked out and through the hallways, past a door marked Ag. He stopped when he heard Aqualad call out to him.

The trio looked up when the electrified rods that were prodding them suddenly powered down, shocked to see Superboy standing there. Robin freed himself, telling Superboy to get Aqualad while he got Kid Flash. The four of them ran once they were all free, stopping only when Superboy faltered in his steps.

"What is it? We have to go, like, now." Kid Flash called to Superboy.

"Project Ag." Superboy grunted, turning down the hallway and running towards the door he had passed earlier. The trio looked at each other before following after him. They stopped outside the door as Superboy ripped it open, all of them staring wide eyed at the glass box implanted in the wall. "What the-"

Inside  was a boy with silver hair and an all white suit, a collar around his neck and chains on his wrists and ankles. He hadn't noticed the four boys at the far end of the room until they approached the glass. The boy looked up and glared at them. "Who are you? You don't look like scientists."

"We are here to free you...er...Project Ag?" Kid Flash rubbed the back of his neck, looking at the other teen. The boy in chains scoffed. Kid Flash nudged Robin. "How 'bout some hacking, Rob?"

Robin plugged his holographic gauntlet into the computer that was stationed outside the glass and began typing rapidly. A moment later the chains around the teen fell off along with the collar. He smiled at the other four boys. "Thank you."

"Don't thank me yet, I still need to get this chamber open."

"Allow me." The boy smirked. He began vibrating so fast the group could barely see him. He stepped forward, phasing through the glass and appearing next to the quartet. "There. Now, do you know how to get out of here?"

"We'll figure it out as we go. Come on!" Exiting the room, none of them noticed the shadow lurking in the back of the glass box.

The group started to run through the hallways, Superboy stopping to fight the genomorphs that got in there way. Aqualad called out to him and he followed. They made it to another level when they started listening to Superboy's directions.

Eventually they made it to the lobby when a beastly creature came out of nowhere and attacked them. Robin devised a plan on the spot, carried out by Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Superboy to take the beast down. Unfortunately, they also took the building down with them.

When the rubble settled Superboy lifted it off the five of them, and they cheered. Kid Flash pointed the moon out to Superboy and surprisingly Superman showed up.

Along with the rest of the Justice League.

Superboy approached Superman with a hopeful look, one Superman met with a discouraging look. He declared himself Superman's clone and the League was shocked.

"Start talking."

After they explained everything to the League, Batman told them he was shutting them down, that they weren't doing it again.

"I'm sorry. But we will." Aqualad declared.

"Aqualad, stand down."

"Apologies, my king. But no. We did good work here tonight. The work you trained us to do. Together on our own, we forged something powerful. Important."

"Why let them tell us what to do? Its simple. Get on board, or get out of the way." Superboy glared at the League.

Mount Justice

July 08, 08:04 EDT

As the League was setting up the mountain for the newly established team and Batman was briefing them on how things were going to run, the silver haired teen bounced on the balls of his feet, anxiously looking around.

"Wait, six?" Robin asked, catching Batman's wording.

Everyone turned to see a new girl enter the mountain. "This is Martian Manhunter's niece, Miss Martian."

"I'm liking this gig more and more." Kid Flash elbowed Robin. "Hey, I'm Kid Flash. This is Robin, Aqualad, Superboy, and ...what are we calling you again?"

"Quicksilver." The boy replied.

"Anyways, its cool if you forget their names." Kid Flash kept talking to Miss Martian, the others drawing near to her.

Quicksilver kept to the back with Superboy until they were called over by Robin, the new team starting to get to know each other.

Or so they thought.
