Chapter Twelve: Apres Moi Le Deluge

Nobody's Pov

Everyone settles down since they had to admit they were anticipating the next chapter, wanting to see what would happen.

Gertrude nodded once everyone was settled before playing the next episode.

The screen turns on and the camera pans to the compound.

We head inside and into the study where we see Elijah, Hayley and Holden.

Drawings were placed onto the table that was in the middle of the room. Elijah stood near the table while the Marshall siblings were sitting on the couch together.

From what Holden has gathered Davina has been drawing a woman named Celeste, who happened to be Elijah's old lover, and now Elijah is confused as to why Davina would be drawing her.

Everyone raised an eyebrow at the information they just learned.

To say they were curious would be an understatement, especially if an old lover of Elijah was involved.

They all leaned forward a bit in order to learn a bit more of what was to come in this episode.

"The Italians call them strega. The Yoruba of West Africa call them aje, meaning mother. Where my mother was from, they called them häxa, and here we call them witch. Over the centuries, vampires have fought them and fought beside them, bedded them and burned them. Whether adversary or ally, they have been a force to be reckoned with. Their ancestral magic anchors this city. There's never been one all-powerful witch until Davina" Elijah explained.

Footsteps are heard and all three of them turn around to see Klaus walking into the study.

"Who is now tucked in safe and sound down the hall under my protection" Klaus said.

"What protection? He's just using her as a weapon" Ken scoffed.

That girl was nowhere near protected, not when the hybrid is the reason she lost Timothy.

Holden looked at Klaus and Klaus looked at him. The two stared at each other for a few seconds before looking away.

It's quite clear that after what almost happened between them the other day has created some awkward tension between them.

"Understatement of the century" Tankhun scoffed, rolling his eyes.

Tay nodded in agreement as he crossed his arms over his chest.

The two of them were still very angry at the fact that they didn't get to see a kiss between the werewolf and the hybrid.

Not only that but no doubt it would be awkward between those two because of what almost happened.

Klaus looked down at the drawing of Celeste before looking at his brother.

"Your Celeste was quite beautiful and a portent of evil, according to our volatile artist in residence" Klaus said.

"Yes. Perhaps Davina's mistaken what she calls evil for power. Celeste was certainly very powerful in her day, but she's been dead for over two hundred years. I don't understand. Why all these sketches now?" Elijah frowned.

Klaus shrugged as he sat down on a nearby chair.

"Why does any witch do anything?" Klaus asked.

"For power" Holden muttered.

He laid his head down on his sister's shoulder to which Hayley wrapped an arm around him, holding him close.

A few people couldn't help but nod in agreement with the former bodyguards words.

It's true. So far from what they have seen it's clear that he witches only care for power.

While a few others couldn't help but smile softly at the interaction between the Marshall siblings.

All of a sudden they hear a loud crash coming from Davina's room causing all of them to turn around.

Klaus sighed and sarcastically said, "well, that's going well".

"If you were trying to win the girl's trust, perhaps poisoning her one true love was not the most splendid idea" Elijah told him.

"Oh. Are there any more inopportune deaths you'd like to wave in my face?" Klaus asked.

"Give me a month. I'll get you a list" Elijah sarcastically smiled.

Holden laughed at that while Klaus just chuckled and shook his head.

Everyone laughed at the reply Elijah gave to his brother.

All of a sudden another crash was heard causing them to turn around once more.

Klaus let out a sigh of annoyance as he stood up from his chair.

"Young, old, dead, or alive, witches are a pain in the ass" Klaus said as he turned around and left the study.

"He shouldn't be talking. He's a pain in the ass himself" Macau scoffed.

A few people laughed at the young boy's words while Pete shot him a look and smacked his shoulder.

Macau pouted to which Vegas laughed and ruffled his little brother's hair.

Holden let out a slight laugh before closing his eyes as he kept his head on his sisters shoulder.

It was quiet in the study for a bit before Hayley spoke up.

"Elijah" Hayley softly said.

Elijah hummed but didn't look at her as he was too busy staring at the drawing of his old lover.

"I don't blame him. Celeste is beautiful" Jom nodded as he himself stared at the drawing.

"And dead" Tem deadpanned.

Jom shot him a glare while Porsche snorted and shook his head in amusement.

"There's something you need to know" Hayley told him.

Holden opened his eyes and picked his head up and raised an eyebrow at his sister, wondering what she meant by that.

This made Elijah turn to her and give her a confused and curious look.

Everyone raised an eyebrow at the female werewolf, wondering what she needed to tell Elijah that sounded so important.

And why did she look so guilty?

But before Hayley can say anything the room began to shake as books and a few other objects tumble over.

The three of them share confused and concerned glances as they stood up.

What was happening right now could be passed off as an earthquake but it wasn't because they could feel the entire building begin to shake.

Everyone's eyes widened at the unexpected actions.

"What the fuck?!" Ken yelled, confused and surprised by what was happening.

"What the hell is going on? Where did that freaking earthquake come from?" Pol asked.

All eyes turned to Gertrude but, as expected, she said nothing and just gestured to the screen.

Basically telling them to continue watching and all will be explained soon.

Everyone either sighed or glared at her before doing as told since they did want answers.

"What the fuck?!" Holden yelled, his eyes wide in confusion and shock.

Ken let a faint smile appear on his face, happy that he had said the same thing as his best friend.

Holden rushes out of the study with Hayley and Elijah following behind him.

The three of them reach the balcony and look down into the courtyard. Klaus and Marcel rush out of Davina's room and do the same.

The vampires are looking around in confusion while trying to keep their balance. Rebekah walks into the courtyard and looks around before looking up at the others.

"What the hell is going on?" Rebekah asked, confused.

Klaus grits his teeth before grimly replying, "Davina".

Everyone's eyes widened at what they just heard.

Davina was the one that caused the entire compound to shake?! How the hell was that possible?!

The scene changes and we're back in the same room.

Rebekah and Holden were sitting on the couch, Klaus was sitting near the small bar with a glass of whiskey in his hand and Elijah was sitting on the desk chair.

The camera pans over to Sophie who was standing and looking down at the picture of Celeste.

"What the hell is she doing there?" Porsche asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"Well, she's the one that started everything when she linked herself to Hayley. I guess she's kind of like their ally" Pete shrugged.

"Plus she might have answers since her niece was involved in the harvest like Davina" Arm added.

If there's anyone that could figure out what's wrong with Davina, it's Sophie.

"So you have stolen the remains of the very person that Davina's been drawing for months. Would you care to explain this startling coincidence?" Elijah asked.

Sophie shook her head and looked at Elijah.

"I can't. I didn't even know who Celeste Dubois was until I-" Sophie started but stopped.

All of a sudden Davina screams and the house begins to shake violently, once again.

Sophie looks alarmed while Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah looked merely irritated. Holden, on the other hand, was beginning to grow concerned for the young witch.

Everyone couldn't help but laugh at the looks on the Mikaelson siblings faces.

It's clear that they were expecting another earthquake to happen again so it's no wonder they weren't panicking, just irritated.

However, they themselves were beginning to grow concerned for Davina.

They just wanted to know what the hell was wrong with her.

The shaking stops and Sophie looks at the others with wide eyes.

"Was that Davina?" Sophie asked.

"Charming little habit she's developed" Klaus sarcastically said.

"And the earthquake I felt earlier?" Sophie asked.

"Also Davina. And, she's taken to vomiting dirt" Rebekah added.

A few people felt their eyes widening at that, they didn't know she was also vomiting dirt.

A few people couldn't help but gag at the new information they learned while shaking their heads.

Something was definitely wrong with Davina if she not only caused the earthquake but vomited dirt.

Sophie's eyes widened and visible panic wash across her eyes.

"Oh. We have a huge problem. I thought that we had more time, but we need to complete the Harvest now" Sophie said.

Scoffs inside the theater were heard from basically everyone.

"Oh please, that bitch just wants to complete the harvest so that the witches don't lose their power" Vegas rolled his eyes.

"And she wants her niece back since that's the whole reason she did all of this" Pete added.

"Said the desperate witch, conveniently" Klaus scoffed.

"I'm serious! That earthquake you just felt is a preview of the disaster movie that is about to hit us" Sophie told them.

"And why should we believe you?" Elijah asked with a raised eyebrow.

"You've met Davina, you know her story. For months now, she's been holding all the power of the three girls sacrificed in the Harvest ritual. A force that was meant to flow through her and back into the earth. One person was never meant to hold that much power. It's tearing her apart, and it will take us down with it" Sophie explained.

Everyone absorbed all the information they just learned and glanced at each other.

They knew that Davina was powerful but now that they know that all that power came from the other girls that had been sacrificed.

For months she had been holding that power and it's clear that she was never meant to hold it for that long, especially when it's clear she can't control it.

A dread feeling came down on all of them.

The harvest has to be completed.

Meaning, Davina really does have to die.

Holden scoffed loudly causing all eyes to fall on him as he stood up.

"This is insane. You're insane. Your coven is insane" Holden rolled his eyes.

"Love..." Klaus trailed off but the male werewolf ignored him.

"First the awkward tension now ignoring him. What the hell?" Tankhun muttered under his breath.

"I just want them to kiss. Something we should've gotten before" Tay sighed.

They didn't just hate the awkward tension between those two, they hated that Holden was now ignoring him.

They hope it doesn't remain that way forever.

"You dragged my sister into this mess. My sister, who is pregnant might I add, has been attacked by you and those other bloodthirsty witches since day one. Now you want us to hand over Davina and slit her throat. You're insane" Holden scowled.

"Holden, it's the only way. We have to finish the harvest, return the magic back to the earth and Davina along with the other girls are resurrected. If not then the magic consumes her and she dies for real" Sophie explained.

"Is there seriously no other way?" Macau asked, concerned for the young pretty witch.

"There has to be another way. They can't just sacrifice her" Chay frowned.

Everyone looked at the two young boys before looking at each other.

None of them knew what to say and they sure as hell couldn't tell them that there was another way because there wasn't.

Sophie said it herself.

The harvest has to be completed and for that to happen it means Davina has to be sacrificed.

Something that none of them wanted.

"All of this is because of you and your crazy coven. Davina is a freaking child that shouldn't be in this position in the first place. None of you deserve to have that magic back" Holden scowled.

"Love-" Klaus started but Holden ignored him and stormed out of the room.

The hybrid sighs, feeling oddly upset at being ignored, before taking a sip of his whiskey.

"Stop ignoring your future boyfriend you idiot" Tankhun muttered under his breath.

The scene changes to the courtyard and we see Holden walking downstairs with a chocolate bar in his hand.

As he reached downstairs he paused when he heard the sound of muffled sobs.

He turned around and walked towards the sound. He found his sister standing with her back facing him, her shoulders shaking as she softly cried.

Holden frowned and hurriedly made his way towards her, placing a hand on her shoulder once he was near.

"Hales" Holden softly said.

Hayley jumped, clearly startled, and turned to face her brother.

Holden's frown deepened when he saw her red eyes as well as tears streaming down his sister's face.

At seeing the state that Hayley was in a few people couldn't help but frown as confusion and worry coursed through their bodies.

"What's wrong with her? Why is she crying?" Ken asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I have a feeling it has something to do with Elijah. Remember, she was going to tell him something" Chan said.

"And lets not forget she looked guilty" Kim added.

"Hales, what's wrong? What happened?" Holden softly asked.

He turned her around and gently cupped her face to gently wipe her tears away with her fingers.

"It's nothing, Hol. Don't worry about it" Hayley told him, offering him a small smile.

Holden rolled his eyes before sternly saying, "that's bullshit and you know it. Now tell me what's wrong".

Hayley sighed but knew that her brother wasn't going to let this go, not when she was so upset.

"That's true. Trust me, I'd know" Ken nodded.

Whenever he was upset, whether it was related to work or personal stuff, he'd stay in his room in order to cry and avoid the eyes of everyone else.

The last thing he wanted was for people to see him cry and see him as weak.

But, considering he and Big were roommates, Big caught him.

He tried to wave him off, assure him that it was nothing and that he didn't need to worry, but Big was stubborn and persistent and made him tell him what was wrong.

And, no surprise, he did.

And while Big didn't understand what he went through and couldn't relate, that didn't stop him from being there for him.

It didn't stop him from hugging him, holding him close, while running his fingers through his hair and reminded him that no matter what he would always be there for him.

As those memories resurfaced Ken allowed a small smile to appear on his face.

Those memories just made him miss his best friend, his brother in all but blood, even more.

"I messed up, big time. And now Elijah hates me" Hayley told her brother.

Holden frowned at that and pulled his hands away from his sisters face.

"What do you mean? What did you do?" Holden asked.

"While you were at the festival with the others Sophie called me. She told me that she needed my help and in return she would help undue the curse that the witches put on our family. She told me I had to find out where Elijah buried his old girlfriend, Celeste, who was a powerful witch. I went back to the plantation and read through Elijah's journals and found where he buried her and told Sophie. I told Elijah and he was angry and betrayed. Now, he's avoiding me at all costs and I understand he has the right to do so but it just hurts" Hayley explained.

Holden's eyes widened at everything his sister just told him, he definitely wasn't expecting that.

Nearly everyone had the same reaction as Big.

Although a few others couldn't help but be on Elijah's side since what Hayley had done was an invasion of privacy.

Not to mention they were surprised that she would help Sophie, of all people, after everything she has done.

Tankhun, although he very much likes Elijah and Hayley together, believes that Elijah avoiding her is justified after what she did.

"Oh, wow" Holden muttered, rubbing the back of his neck.

He looked at his sister and when he saw she was on the verge of crying again he sighed.

"Hales, what you did was wrong since that was an invasion of his privacy. But don't worry too much about it. Elijah is a noble man and while he may be upset at the moment it won't stay that way forever. He'll forgive you eventually. I mean, if he can forgive Nik for all the shit he does then he can definitely forgive you" Holden told her.

"You think so?" Hayley asked.

"Yes, I do. Just give him a few days to cool down and he'll forgive you and things will go back to normal between the two of you" Holden told her.

Some people couldn't help but smile and nod at Big's words, he did have a point.

Elijah is a noble man after all and forgives easily, Klaus would know, and while he's angry at Hayley he will forgive her eventually.

It'll just take time.

"Never thought someone like him would give good advice" Porsche muttered.

Then again, he and Big weren't friends so he didn't really know anything about him.

Hayley sighed, "I hope you're right".

"Of course I am. I'm always right" Holden grinned smugly.

Hayley rolled her eyes and laughed to which Holden smiled, happy to have lighten her mood.

Everyone couldn't help but laugh or roll their eyes at his words.

While some let smiles appear on their faces, knowing that Holden just said that to get his sister to brighten up.

"Cocky idiot" Ken scoffed, his lips twitching upwards slightly.

All of a sudden footsteps are heard and the siblings turn to see Klaus walking towards them.

"What are you doing?" Klaus asked, his eyes moving to the box of cans.

"Oh. I was gonna take these to the-" Hayley started but Klaus cut her off.

"If you say bayou I will find a nice comfy dungeon and throw you in it" Klaus warned her.

This made a few people glare at him or groan loudly.

"Again with the freaking threats!" Macau yelled, throwing his arms in the air.

"Does he not realize that she's carrying his child? Meaning he'll throw both of them into a dungeon" Chay sighed.

"Nik!" Holden yelled, shooting the hybrid a glare.

"This is not the night to be out there, love" Klaus sternly said.

Hayley rolled her eyes before speaking, "for anyone. But some people don't have a choice".

Holden nodded at her words to which Klaus glances between them with his lips pressed together.

"Right" Klaus said before grabbing onto one of the boxes.

The siblings look at him with raised eyebrows and he looks at them.

"Love, you grab that lot and come with me" Klaus told Holden.

He then looks at Hayley and says, "little wolf, follow us".

As he leaves the siblings look at each other before shrugging as Hayley follows after the hybrid with Holden following after her once he grabs the other box of cans.

"Uh...what is he doing?" Tem asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I don't know" Jom muttered, furrowing his eyebrows together.

They, along with everyone else, were confused as to what the hybrid was doing.

To which Tankhun and Tay looked at one another and rolled their eyes.

The scene changes to the church where we see people inside either sitting on the benches or standing off to the side.

The camera pans over to Klaus, Holden and Hayley walking inside where they see Father Kieran talking to people while handing out blankets.

Everyone couldn't help but feel bad for the people that are seeking refuge in a church since it was beginning to get hectic outside.

And they don't even know that the worse is yet to come.

"Oh those poor people" Chay frowned.

Those innocent people were obviously scared and confused and he just prays that everything goes well.

When Father Kieran sees them he immediately hurries towards them.

"We still haven't gone through all that you've already provided, Klaus" Father Kieran said to the hybrid.

Klaus places the box that he's holding into his arms before grabbing the box Holden was carrying.

"Well, this newest bit isn't from me" Klaus said, gesturing to the Marshall siblings.

"Well, at least he's honest and not taking all the credit" Vegas shrugged.

Everyone just nodded.

"Oh" Father Kieran frowned slightly.

He turned and handed the boxes to someone before turning back to look at the Marshall siblings.

"That's very kind of you..." Father Kieran trailed off, confused.

"Hayley" Hayley introduced herself.

"Holden" Holden introduced himself with a nod of his head.

"And these people are?" Hayley asked, looking around.

"I asked Father Kieran to give them shelter. He suffers from an incessant desire to do good" Klaus told her.

Everyone either shook their heads at his comment or rolled their eyes.

There was nothing wrong with doing good and helping out other people.

"It's called being a good person and doing good. Try it out if you're capable of doing so" Ken sarcastically said.

Chan, who heard him, couldn't help but snort in amusement.

Klaus then looks back at Father Kieran and steps forward.

"But now, I need you to be useful. Marcel and Davina have disappeared" Klaus revealed.

Father Kieran's eyes widened as did Holden's since he didn't know those two were gone.

Everyone had the same reaction as the former bodyguard and the priest.

They hadn't known that Davina and Marcel were missing but then again they should've seen that coming.

It's clear that despite his lies Marcel did care about Davina and after learning that the harvest has to be completed, that Davina has to be sacrificed, he's not going to let that happen.

Klaus let out an annoyed sigh, "I assume from the stupefied look on your face they haven't sought refuge in your attic".

"No. Those days are gone" Father Kieran shook his head.

"Then energize your resources. I don't need to remind you how important it is they be found" Klaus sternly said.

"Yes" Father Kieran sighed.

He took his phone out in order to make some calls and walks away from the three of them.

Hayley and Holden are looking around in confusion at all of the people congregated inside.

Suddenly, realization dawns on them as their eyes widen as they look at each other before looking at the hybrid.

"What realization?" Porsche asked with a frown.

"Keep watching and we'll find out" Ken muttered with a shake of his head.

"Nik, these people, they're werewolves. And the priest, he said that you donated the food" Holden said.

"You're helping them?" Hayley asked in shock.

"They're not your werewolves. They're my clan. From very far back. They've fallen upon hard times, and their plight has brought out the philanthropist in me. What can I say? Must be Elijah's influence" Klaus shrugged.

While Hayley was staring at the hybrid in shock and confusion Holden couldn't help but let a small smile appear on his face.

He could clearly see the care in Klaus's eyes for these people. His people.

Everyone was shocked that Klaus Mikaelson, of all people, was not only helping werewolves but werewolves that apparently were his people.

They couldn't believe that he had actually cared when they were certain that he would just leave them to rot.

Looks like they were wrong.

Tankhun let a soft smile appear on his face before leaning towards Tay who turned to look at him.

"He does care he just has a hard time showing it" Tankhun whispered.

This made Tay nod in agreement as a faint smile appeared on his face.

"What do you mean, your clan?" Hayley asked.

"The blood that runs in their veins runs in mine. And in our child's" Klaus told her.

Hayley and Holden look at each other before Hayley lets out a sigh while shaking her head.

"This family gets more complicated by the second" Hayley said.

Holden snorted and nodded his head in agreement.

Everyone couldn't stop themselves from laughing while nodding their heads in agreement.

"Understatement of the century" Pol chuckled.

Arm smiled at him and nodded before, without really thinking, resting his head on his shoulder.

Pol blushed but didn't say anything as he really wasn't complaining about being this close with Arm.

Porsche and Pete looked at the two before looking at each other and grinned knowingly.

Klaus chuckled before looking at Hayley.

"Listen, Hayley, word of advice when dealing with Elijah? Don't do as I do. Just apologize. He's accomplished in many things, but he is a master of forgiveness" Klaus told her.

He turned around and walked away.

Hayley watches him leave and blinks a few times, trying to comprehend what just happened.

"Did Klaus just give me advice?" Hayley asked, turning to her brother.

"Yes he did" Holden chuckled.

"The world must be ending" Macau commented out loud.

This made everyone laugh in amusement while Gertrude just chuckled and shook her head at the boy.

The scene then changes to the plantation house and we head to the backyard where we see Klaus, Elijah, Hayley, Holden, Rebekah and Father Kieran.

It was raining heavily outside to which everyone was wearing coats and had umbrellas to protect themselves.

Hayley and Elijah were, surprisingly, sharing an umbrella.

"Didn't expect that but, then again, he's not cruel enough to let her get soaking wet and get sick" Kim shrugged.

"True" Chay nodded, a small smile on his face.

Klaus and Holden were sharing an umbrella.

Tankhun and Tay grinned at that and did their best to hid their squeals.

Rebekah and Father Kieran had their own.

They were standing near a hole they had dug up and the camera pans inside the hole where we see a coffin.

Everyone's eyes widened slightly at seeing the coffin and they felt a little uneasy, considering they don't know what's going on.

"Uh, witch lady, mind explaining to us what they're doing?" Ken asked.

"My name is Gertrude" Gertrude reminded him.

"Did you forget that I don't care? So just tell us what's going on" Ken rolled his eyes.

Gertrude glared at him and considered doing a pain infliction on him but decided against it.

For now, at least.

"To put it short there was no magic in Celeste's bones meaning Sophie can't use her for the harvest. So, the Mikaelson's are going to use their mother to complete it since there's no other dead witch they can use and it's the only way they're going to complete the harvest" Gertrude explained.

Everyone's eyes widened at that.

They didn't know the Mikaelson's were going to use their own mother for this ritual.

But, if that really was the only way for the ritual to be completed then they don't really know what else to say.

Gertrude just sighed before resuming the episode.

Klaus turned to his sister.

"Did you find them? Will he bring her?" Klaus asked.

"He'll bring her" Rebekah said solemnly.

Holden frowned, not knowing if that was true since Marcel is protective of Davina and he knows that he wouldn't want her to be sacrificed.

Yes, she might be brought back later on but it still doesn't change the fact that she has to die.

"And it doesn't change the fact that she's still a kid that shouldn't have to be doing this in the first place" Pete sighed.

Vegas couldn't help but nod in agreement with his boyfriends words.

Davina is a literal child who shouldn't have to be sacrificed in the first place.

"Are you ready to do this?" Father Kieran asked.

Klaus sighed before looking at Holden who nodded and took the umbrella from him and watches as the hybrid took out a dagger from his pocket.

"Always and forever" Klaus said.

He uses the dagger to slice his palm and lets blood drip over his mothers grave.

Everyone couldn't help but wince at what they witnessed and the fact that Klaus was just so unbothered by what he did.

Hell, Kinn and Vegas couldn't help but wince as well.

Holden winces at what he saw while Klaus is calm and just hands the dagger to his sister who did the same.

"Are you alright, Nik?" Holden asked.

Klaus couldn't stop his heart from beating at how concerned the male werewolf looks for him.

"I'm fine, love. Nothing I can't handle" Klaus reassured him.

Holden slowly nodded his head as Klaus took the umbrella from him before wrapping an arm around the werewolf's shoulder.

Holden said nothing and merely leaned into the hybrid's side as the two of them turned to the others to see Hayley slicing her palm.

Tankhun couldn't help but smile softly at the interaction between those two.

He was happy that the awkward tension was gone and that the former bodyguard was no longer ignoring the hybrid.

He just hopes that now that things are back to the way they are with those two, they will get to have their first kiss.

Once they've all dripped their blood into the grave, Father Kieran takes the dagger and throws it into the grave.

"It's done" Father Kieran said.

Everyone nodded at that.

Now all they have to do is head to the cemetery and complete the harvest.

They just hope that Marcel does bring Davina.

"I hope he doesn't" Pete muttered.

He knows that the harvest has to be completed but he still doesn't like the fact that a child has to be sacrificed in order to do so.

Vegas sighed as he wrapped an arm around his boyfriend.

"I don't like it either but there might not be any other choice" Vegas told him.

Pete pressed his lips together and just kept quiet.

The scene changes to the cemetery where we see that the Mikaelsons along with Hayley and Holden have joined Sophie at the cemetery.

They're waiting for Marcel and Davina to arrive to complete the Harvest. Suddenly, flames start to erupt near the entrance, startling everyone.

Everyone in the theater jumped at the fire since they themselves had been startled.

Klaus, who still had his arm around Holden's shoulder, pulled Holden closer to which he leaned more into him.

As expected, Tankhun let a smile appear on his face at what he saw.

Tay did too but he quickly composed himself as he reminded himself what was happening.

"Fire" Sophie said.

After a moment, Marcel appears, carrying Davina in his arms. As he walks toward them, flames follow them in a trail that licks at Marcel's feet. Once they get to the altar, Marcel sets Davina down.

The camera pans to Sophie who holds the ceremonial athame over the flames before she heads toward Davina.

"Do you believe in the harvest?" Sophie asked.

Davina nods nervously and says, "I believe".

Everyone held their breaths and leaned forward, watching the scene with nervousness and fear.

Once she says the words, Sophie raises the blade and slits Davina's throat with it to which Rebekah, Hayley and Holden flinch and look away.

Everyone flinched at Sophie slicing Davina's neck like it was nothing.

The ones from the mafia couldn't help but look away.

Yes, they are known to kill their enemies or anyone that betrays them but they can never imagine themselves harming a child.

Chay whimpered to which Porsche wrapped his arms around him and pulled him into a comforting embrace.

Macau hid his face in Vegas's shoulder to which his brother wrapped his arms around him and held him close.

Pete looked away from the scene, trying to contain his tears, and placed a hand on Macau's shoulder and rubbed it gently.

Davina gasps in shock and grabs at her throat before she falls back. Marcel catches her and lays her down on the ground. Just then, the rain stops and Davina's skin glows gold as the magic leaves her body and flows into the earth.

The camera pans over to the other harvest girls that were sacrificed and we see Davina lying with them.

"After the Harvest comes the Reaping. Their sacrifices made and accepted. We call upon our Elders to resurrect the chosen ones" Sophie said, looking up at the sky.

As she finishes she looks down at the girls and waits, expecting for them to be resurrected.

But...nothing happens.

This makes everyone look at each other feeling uneasy.

Everyone is tense as well as the atmosphere.

"No, no, no" Pete muttered, shaking his head in denial.

"Please, no, tell me it's not what I think it is" Porsche muttered, his eyes growing wide.

Nobody says anything as they were too invested in the screen and wondered what was happening.

They were hoping, they were praying, that nothing went wrong and that the harvest had been completed, that Davina would be brought back and not remain dead.

Sophie begins again, "we call upon our Elders to resurrect the chosen ones".

Still, nothing happens.

Holden frowns, feeling tears begin to build up in his eyes, while Sophie becomes flustered and is close to tears.

"Resurrect your chosen ones. Please? I beg" Sophie pleads, wanting something to happen.

Unfortunately, nothing happens.

The girls, including Davina, are still lying on the ground dead.

When it becomes clear that something has gone wrong, Sophie falls to her knees and sobs.

"No!" Sophie yelled, finally letting the tears stream down her face.

She crawls towards the body of her niece and holds onto her as she cries and sobs.

Everyone's eyes widened in disbelief at what they had just saw.

They couldn't believe it. They didn't want to.

"Oh my god" Jom breathed out, his hand coming up to cover mouth.

Tem sighed and looked down at his hands, not wanting to look at the screen anymore and not wanting anyone to see the tears building up in his eyes.

Tay closed his eyes and turned to bury his head on Tankhun's shoulder, silently letting his tears fall down his face.

Tankhun sighed, rubbing his face to stop his own tears from falling, before embracing Tay in a comforting hug.

Pol hugged Arm as he cried and Arm hugged him back, trying his best to hold in his tears.

Ken frowned in sadness while Chan sighed and ran a hand through his hair in sadness and frustration.

Chay pulled away from his brother and threw himself into Kim's awaiting arms.

Porsche sighed before burying his head into Kinn's shoulder and softly cried. Kinn said nothing and just held his boyfriend close, leaning down to give his head a kiss as he rubbed his back up and down.

Macau didn't need to look to know what had happened, he just cried more into his brothers shoulder.

Pete was crying ans sobbing as he wrapped his arms around his boyfriend and buried his head into his chest.

Vegas closed his eyes in sadness and just held onto his little brother and his boyfriend and did his best to comfort them.

Not only did something go wrong during the ritual but Davina was dead, she was gone.

And there's nothing anyone can do to bring her back.

Rebekah and Hayley start crying while Elijah and Klaus look on in disbelief.

"Oh my god" Holden muttered, letting his tears fall.

He turns around and buries his face into Klaus's chest to which the hybrid didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around him and hold him close.

Tankhun, as much as he wanted to, didn't smile at the interaction between the two of them.

He couldn't, not when Davina is dead and nothing can be done to bring her back.

The camera pans over to Marcel who looks nothing but devastated and depressed.

However, when he looks at Klaus and their eyes meet he shoots him a look that is full of nothing but hatred.

Marcel says nothing and simply speeds away.

Everyone couldn't help but feel sympathy towards Marcel.

After all, he was the one that had saved Davina from the first harvest ritual and promised to keep her safe no matter what.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

In the end, he still lost her and he's not getting her back.

It's the fact that he didn't just lose a girl he saved, he lost a girl he saw as a daughter.

Klaus sighs and looks at Holden who was holding onto him, his head still buried into his chest, as his shoulders shook as he cried.

"I've got you, love. I've got you" Klaus whispered to him.

He held him close, tighter, while rubbing his back up and down to calm him down.

Everyone managed to calm down, some were still upset and some were still crying, but they were getting a bit better.

"Are you all ok to continue?" Gertrude softly asked.

Nobody said anything and just nodded their heads, they weren't in the mood to speak.

Gertrude nodded back before resuming the episode.

The scene changes to the compound where we see Marcel rushing inside.

He doesn't hesitate to grab whatever furniture there is and throws them into walls, letting out his grief and anger. He continues to do that, grunting and yelling as he does so.

Everyone remained silent as they watched Marcel lash out and throw the furniture.

They understand what he's feeling, they understand that this is hard for him.

Vegas could relate to Marcel since the way he's acting right now is the same way he acted when he lost his mother.

Ken himself could relate to Marcel as well since he acted the same way when he was informed of Big's death.

Losing someone you love the most does that to a person.

Footsteps are heard and the camera pans over to Klaus who is walking into the compound.

Holden is following behind him with his hands in his pocket.

"That won't bring her back, you know" Klaus said as he approached Marcel.

Marcel turns to him and furiously points a finger at him.

"This is your fault! I should have never let you anywhere near her!" Marcel yelled.

"Marcel-" Holden started but he was ignored.

"This city was fine before you came. We were fine! Davina was safe, she was in control! If you hadn't gotten her worked up, if you hadn't killed that boy!" Marcel yelled, glaring at the hybrid.

"He's right" Ken muttered.

"Ken" Chan sighed but Ken shook his head.

"You know it's true. He's the reason Davina was so worked up in the first place since he kidnapped and threatened Timothy. He's the reason Davina almost lost her life and even though she survived it doesn't change the fact that she lost Timothy because of him. Everything is all his fault and you can't convince me otherwise" Ken sternly said.

He had to side with Marcel on this one.

Klaus is the only person that is to blame for everything that happened, including Davina's death.

Everything would've been better if that hybrid had left and never looked back.

"My condolences the girl is gone. But don't lose perspective. We still have our community. The vampires of this town-" Klaus started but was cut off.

"I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE VAMPIRES!" Marcel screamed out in rage.

Klaus, surprisingly, flinched at that as did Holden who stared at Marcel in sadness.

"She is dead! Do you hear me?!" Marcel cries out, tears beginning to form in his eyes.

Everyone tried their best not to cry but it was hard.

Especially when they can hear all the emotions in Marcel as he spoke, showing just how devastated he was.

Klaus speeds towards Marcel and places his hand on his shoulder to which Marcel glares at him, ready to fight.

However, instead of a fight Klaus stares at him for a few seconds before pulling him into a hug.

Marcel, although shocked at what's happening, slowly wraps his arms around the hybrid and hugs him as he silently cries.

"I'm sorry. You may think I know nothing of your grief, but you are wrong" Klaus told him.

He pulls away from the hug in order to look Marcel in the eye.

"In the days after I fled this city, I thought you were dead. It was years before I could speak your name, so keenly did I feel that loss. I'm sorry" Klaus softly said.

Marcel says nothing and just lets more tears fall down his face. He buries his head into Klaus's shoulder as he cries to which the hybrid holds him tight and comfortingly.

"I'm sorry" Klaus whispered into his ear.

At everything they just witnessed everyone couldn't help but let tears stream down their face.

Hell, Kinn, Vegas and Kim had tears streaming down their face as well.

But they understand that losing someone you love is not easy. It never is.

The camera pans over to Holden who has tears streaming down his face as he watched the interaction between the two of them.

Hesitantly, he walks towards the two of them and stands behind Marcel.

He places a comforting hand on the mans shoulder and rubs it, offering him comfort as best as he could.

"I'm sorry, Marcel. I'm so sorry" Holden whispered.

The three of them stand there in the courtyard with Marcel's cries and sobs filling the air.

As the screen turned black, indicating that the episode was over, everyone couldn't help but sigh.

Everything they just watched was overwhelming to say the least.

"How do you all feel about taking a little break?" Gertrude softly asked.

Everyone glanced at each other before looking at the witch and nodded their heads.

After everything they just watched, a break was definitely something they needed before moving onto the next episode.
