Chapter Sixteen: Le Grand Guignol

Nobody's Pov

As everyone settled down the next episode began to play.

The screen turns on and the camera pans into one of the bedrooms in the compound, Klaus's bedroom.

The camera pans over to the hybrid that's currently lying in bed shirtless. His eyes are closed and he's gasping in pain from the blade that's embedded in his chest.

Everyone's eyes widened at seeing the state the hybrid was in.

They couldn't believe how much pain he's in all because of a blade he was stabbed with.

"Damn" Jom muttered.

"You said it" Tem muttered back with a nod of his head.

Tankhun eyed Klaus onscreen before leaning closer to Tay causing his friend to look at him.

"I know now isn't the time but seeing him without a shirt turns me on" Tankhun whispered.

Tay laughed at his friend and shook his head in amusement.

But he had to agree that Klaus was indeed hot especially without his shirt.

Seeing those muscles and tattoos nearly made him drool.

"So, you're telling me that the witches made the blade that's currently inside of Nik?" Holden asked.

Elijah nods as he removes his jacket and rolls up his sleeves.

"Yes.  And every second it remains causes Niklaus untold suffering" Elijah said.

"Why the hell would you stab him with it in the first place?" Holden asked.

"To prevent him from murdering his sister" Pol deadpanned.

"I'm sorry but it was the only way. But don't worry, I intend to remove it" Elijah said.

He walks over to his brother while ordering Holden to take a step back to which he obeys.

"Do you mind explaining to me why you want me to be here?" Holden asked.

"Because of all the people that could be here, you're the only one he wouldn't immediately slaughter" Elijah told him.

Tankhun and Tay shared a glance as knowing smiles appeared on their faces.

Obviously Klaus would never hurt Holden since those two have something going on, especially after they kissed.

Elijah uses a scalpel to slice into his brother along the red scar bisecting his chest. He then jams his fist into the open wound in order to grab the blade.

Holden gags and turns his head away in slight disgust.

"Also, he speaks of you with what is a rare degree, for him at least, of respect and adoration" Elijah added.

Holden blushed and allowed a small smile to appear on his face at hearing that.

Tankhun and Tay smiled at that, allowing small squeals to escape their lips.

Ken, on the other hand, had a frown plastered on his face.

He didn't really know how to feel at the revelation that his best friend has feelings for the hybrid and the hybrid feels the same.

Elijah finally pulls the blade out of Klaus's chest and once it's removed the hybrid's eyes snap open and he groans in agony.

"A wonderful skill that I shall be counting on very shortly" Elijah said.

He sets the blade down on a bowl and grabs a rag to clean his bloodied hand.

"You see, Niklaus will be weak as he recovers. So, watch over him and feed him, if you would. But slowly, please, and from your wrist" Elijah told him.

Holden sighed but nodded his head.

"And perhaps you could use the time constructively? Persuade him not to murder his baby sister" Elijah said.

"That might be a little impossible" Vegas chuckled.

He could tell how angry the hybrid was in the previous episode and he could tell how determined he was to bring pain to Rebekah by stabbing her with the blade.

There's no way Klaus is going to stop until he gets his revenge on her.

And Marcel, of course.

Elijah then turns to Klaus. He places his palms onto the bed and leans closer to his brother.

"Niklaus, it was not my desire to bring you pain, but I will not see you hurt Rebekah. Now, I fear Sabine will be making a final move against us. I intend to find her and to end this" Elijah whispered.

"You better. That bitch is the reason Hayley, Jackson, Jonah and I were nearly killed in that plantation" Holden scoffed.

Elijah nods and goes to leave but stops when his brother weakly calls out to him.

Elijah moves to closer to him in order to hear what he has to say.

"You will pay for this" Klaus whispered, his tone showing seriousness.

Elijah stares at his brother for a few seconds before turning around and leaving the room, leaving Holden alone with the hybrid.

"I just love how he's making threats in the state he's in" Tem chuckled slightly.

The hybrid might be weak but that won't stop him from threatening people, whether it's his siblings or his enemies.

Some time has passed and we're back in Klaus's room where we see that he's still in bed.

The camera pans over to Holden who moves to sit at the edge of the bed

Holden rolls up his sleeve before placing his wrist in front of Klaus's face. Klaus looks at him for a bit before grabbing his wrist and sinks his teeth into it, feeding from him.

A few people couldn't help but wince at what they were seeing.

They really could never imagine letting a vampire feed from them, it's weird and, by the looks of it, painful.

Holden winces in pain and uses his other hand to smack Klaus on the shoulder.

"Slow down, Nik" Holden sternly said.

Klaus feeds a bit more from his wrist before releasing it to which Holden sighs as holds his wrist.

"Sorry" Klaus muttered, leaning back against the pillows.

Holden nods as he grabs a cloth to wipe away the blood.

"Are you still in pain? Do you need something else?" Holden asked.

"As you may have yet to realize, love, the line between what brings us pain and what sustains us is far thinner than one imagines" Klaus told him.

"You talking about my blood or your need to hunt down the people you love most?" Holden asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Both" Porsche whispered to Pete who nodded in agreement.

"I'm too weak for one of your talks right now" Klaus sighed in annoyance.

Holden rolled his eyes as he set the cloth down on the bedside table.

"Nik, Rebekah is your sister. I know that what she did is terrible but you can't possibly hate her and you can't possible want her dead" Holden said.

"Yes, I can. And yes, I do. Why?  Because she has done what no one else has managed to do to me for 1,000 years. Rip my heart out" Klaus said.

"Isn't he exaggerating just a little?" Ken asked while rolling his eyes.

He gets that the hybrid is angry at his sister for what she did but he really shouldn't blame her because at one point she was bound to snap.

And even though his father had hunted him and ran him, and his siblings, away from New Orleans he at least managed to survive.

"You may not know this but back in 1919 my siblings and I were in a jazz club, enjoying our time like we always do. Until I noticed Rebekah and Marcel acting like friends rather than lovers. I could see the way they longed for one another. And, for once in my life, I felt bad that they couldn't act the way they wanted to because of me. So, I held a toast and allowed Rebekah to love Marcel because I believed that not only were we safe in New Orleans but we were happy. And I wanted her to be happy too" Klaus explained.

Klaus pushes himself up from the bed and moves to sit at the edge. He grabs his shirt that was nearby and puts it on.

"I'd let my guard down and given in to happiness, more fool, I" Klaus explained.

He begins to button up his shirt as he turns to Holden who was looking at him and listening intently.

"Turns out, they'd already betrayed me, and brought to town the one thing I'd been running from for centuries...my father" Klaus finished.

Everyone's eyes widened at what they just learned.

They had known from the previous episode that Marcel and Rebekah had contacted Mikael and brought him to New Orleans.

But they hadn't know that Klaus had stopped being the type of person he is and allowed his sister to be happy and find love.

And they hadn't known that by then, the plan Rebekah and Marcel came up with had already been put into motion.

"Oh" Chay muttered.

"Well, when he puts it like that" Macau muttered.

"Oh" Holden breathed out, his eyes wide in surprise.

"Yes, love. Oh" Klaus sarcastically said while rolling his eyes.

The hybrid moves to lay back down on the bed while Holden, who had been standing, walks back to the bed and sits at the edge.

"Alright, I get that you're really angry and want revenge but I don't think that's going to happen. Considering Marcel and Rebekah ran off when Elijah stabbed you with the blade. They could be anywhere in the world by now" Holden told him.

Klaus chuckled as he made eye contact with the male werewolf.

"Oh, love, I'm not so sure about that. If they really want to hide from me they'll need a cloaking spell, and for that, they'll need a witch. And we already know how witches feel about vampires, especially a Mikaelson" Klaus explained.

"That is true" Gertrude muttered.

She knew how witches felt towards vampires especially the Mikaelson's.

And she was basically the same as those witches.

While doesn't have problems with vampires in particular, considering she has come across a few and they were pretty cool, she doesn't necessarily like the Mikaelson's.

She's learning to tolerate them for the sake of some peace between the supernatural beings, but she'll never find herself liking them or getting along with them.

"So, as far as I'm concerned, they have nowhere to go but New Orleans" Klaus grinned.

Holden sighed and shook his head, knowing that the hybrid had a point.

"Sadly" Chan sighed, running a hand through his hair.

Some time has passed and we see Klaus sitting on the edge of the bed. He's attempting to stand but failing as he's still weak.

Holden, who was sitting on the couch scrolling through his phone, shoots up and rushes to the hybrid.

"Nik, you're still weak" Holden reminded him.

Klaus nearly falls forward as he stands but Holden catches him. Holden wraps his arms around his waist and guides him to the bed and sits him back down.

Tankhun and Tay grinned at Big and Klaus's interaction.

"I'm still hungry. There's a fresh blood supply in the kitchen" Klaus said.

"Nik, you and I both know you won't make it that far. So, be a good little boy and get back into bed" Holden ordered.

"Someone is bossy" Pete chuckled.

"Just like someone I know, huh?" Vegas asked with a smirk on his face.

Pete blushed but that didn't stop the smirk from appearing on his face as he leaned in and kissed Vegas on the lips.

The smirk on Vegas's face grew at that while Macau gagged in disgust.

"If I had a quid for every time a woman and a man has tried that line on me" Klaus chuckled.

"You'd have no money" Holden sarcastically smiled.

"I beg to differ. Some women and men actually find me quite charming" Klaus told him.

"He speaks the truth. He's charming as he is hot" Tankhun nodded.

Tay chuckled at his friend, nodding his head in agreement, while Kinn and Kim looked at their brother weirdly.

Porsche and Pete looked at each other, they didn't want to admit that they agreed with Tankhun.

Don't get them wrong they love their boyfriends but they can't deny that Klaus is charming and hot.

Holden yelped in surprise when Klaus places his hands on his hips and pulls him closer so that he was standing in between his legs.

Holden looked down at him, his hands resting on his shoulders, while Klaus stared up at him.

"And if I recall, you're definitely one of them" Klaus smirked.

"And I don't know why he does" Ken muttered.

He doesn't understand why his best friend has feelings for the hybrid, Big can definitely do better than him.

Holden felt his cheeks turn red at Klaus's words, and his smirk, before clearing his throat.

"Let me guess, you have more things to add to your story?" Holden asked.

Klaus nodded and, without removing his hands from Holden's waist, spoke.

"I was hooking up with a werewolf named Lana. She had given us tickets to an Opera called, Le Grand Guignol" Klaus told him.

Holden frowned at hearing Klaus reveal that he was hooking up with someone back then. He knew that the hybrid fooled around with tons of people in order to let off steam, or to just have fun, but it always seemed to irk him.

Tankhun and Tay grinned at Big's jealousy.

Pete, Pol, Arm and Ken were surprised at seeing Big being jealous when it comes to Klaus.

They have never seen him that way, not even with Kinn and he had a crush on him.

"Of course you like opera" Holden huffed.

"I always had a particular soft spot for Le Huguenots. I like the story" Klaus shrugged.

Klaus began rubbing soothing circles on Holden's hips as he continued speaking.

"It was a tale of forbidden love, a Romeo and Juliet of sorts. On the day they are to marry, family and long-festering hatred intervene. Thousands are massacred. A father even kills his own child in the final act. I can almost appreciate the irony" Klaus explained.

He removed his hands from Holden's hips and slowly stood up from the bed.

He walked past Holden to which Holden followed after him as the two of them made their way to the living room located on the second floor.

Klaus walked into the room and reached a table that had a bottle of scotch on it and began pouring himself a glass.

Kinn sighed at the sight of the mini bar located in the living room.

He really wanted a scotch for himself since this entire thing was giving him a headache.

Holden crossed his arms over his chest while leaning against the wall.

"Not sure that helps, Nik" Holden told him.

"Not sure it doesn't" Klaus said as he took a sip of his drink.

"Fine, drink that scotch since it's better than letting you drink my blood from my wrist. I don't care what Elijah says" Holden huffed.

"Don't speak to me of Elijah, love" Nik sternly said.

"Nik, he's your brother and he loves you" Holden told him.

Everyone nodded at that because they could tell that Elijah loves Klaus no matter what he does.

"Yes. He does, and he proves it time and again, even when my father enlisted him to kill me" Klaus said.

"You keep saying kill, but you're immortal. You can't be killed" Holden frowned, confused.

"Oh, but we can, love. And my father was the only one with the means to do it. A white oak stake, fashioned by my father to take from us the very thing he forced upon us all  our immortality" Klaus explained.

"So he brought a white oak stake with him the day he arrived at New Orleans?" Holden asked.

"Yes, he did. Elijah tried getting rid of my father or at least tried getting the white oak stake from him but he failed. My father overpowered him" Klaus explained.

"That's gotta suck" Pol frowned.

"Yeah, he tried to stop his father on his own to protect his siblings but failed" Arm nodded.

"Poor guy must've felt guilty for not being able to stop that madman they call father" Pete added.

"Elijah has always carried guilt for that night for not stopping our father. I told him not to blame himself. When your father wants to kill you, he wants to kill you. Nothing you can do about it" Klaus finished.

Holden opens his mouth to say something but stops when he hears a phone vibrate.

Klaus sets his glass down and takes his phone out of his pocket.

"Oh, I hate to be a know-it-all. My sister and her lover have been spotted in town. So, story time endeth here, I'm afraid" Klaus grinned.

He walks over to a statue on the table and knocks it over. The statue breaks and inside was the indestructible white oak stake.

Everyone's eyes widened at what they were seeing.

"Woah, is that..." Jom trailed off.

"The white oak stake? Yes, it is" Gertrude nodded.

Holden's eyes widened at what he was seeing. He uncrossed his arms and walked further into the room.

"Is that..." Holden trailed off.

Klaus nodded as he crouched down and picked up the white oak stake.

"A white oak stake, my own special version. And, unlike my father's, this one cannot be destroyed" Klaus told him.

He grins at the werewolf male before vamping out of the room.

Everyone's eyes widened when they realized that Klaus was really going to kill his sister.

And he can definitely do so, especially since he has the white oak stake.

"Nik!" Holden yelled as he sprinted out of the room.

He sprints out of the compound and reaches the street and begins to look around, trying to find Klaus.

When he finally spots him he sees him feeding on a random man he stumbled upon.

Everyone shifted in their seats at the sight of the hybrid feeding on a random human.

They really don't like seeing him feed on other people and would rather if he, and other vampires, just drink from blood bags.

"Nik, what are you doing?" Holden asked.

Klaus releases the man that he was feeding on and sends him on his way before turning to Holden.

"Well, if you have to ask, you obviously haven't been paying attention. I'm going to kill my sister but I needed some substance to fully help me heal especially since you weren't going to give me anymore of your blood" Klaus explained.

Holden scowled and made his way over to the hybrid.

"When I first activated my werewolf curse I was 12. Fucking 12. I killed someone at such a young age and do you know how I felt afterwards? Guilty. I felt guilty because I didn't know the person yet it was my fault their life was taken away. That's what you're going to feel if you kill Rebekah. Your sister. You won't be able to survive if you're the one to end her life" Holden explained.

Everyone remained silent during as they took in Big's words.

The ones from the mafia were born to kill because in the life they grew up in it was either kill or be killed.

And they were taught that you either let the ones that hurt you get away with what they did or you retaliate and get your revenge.

But just because they do those things because of their line of work, it doesn't mean they feel good about it.

Killing someone, taking someone's life away, no matter if they're innocent or not, they carry a giant weight on themselves for the rest of their life whether it's from guilt or not.

They understand that Klaus is angry because of Rebekah's betrayal but they also understand that if he really does kill her, something they hope he wouldn't do, he will realize what he has done afterward and be filled with guilt.

"I'll tell you what I almost didn't survive, love. My sister bringing the most vile creature ever to have walked the earth down upon me" Klaus scowled.

"Yes, she did a terrible thing by bringing your father. But hunting her, and Marcel, down to the ends of the earth and by terrorizing them the way you yourself were terrorized, you'll be no different than your father" Holden sternly said.

Vegas allowed a small frown to appear on his face as he looked down at his hands.

The former bodyguards words stuck to his head.

Because while his father was a terrible person and a terrible father he was no different than him because of everything he had done in the past.

Klaus let out a scoff and took a step closer to the werewolf male.

"I've been called every shade of monster, but that's new. My father? Mikael was the monster monsters were afraid of. Come. Let me show you" Klaus said.

He grabs Holden by the arm and vamp speeds out of the street.

"Where the hell is he taking him?" Ken asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

The scene changes and we see Holden and Klaus standing in front of the old opera house.

Holden looks at the old opera house from head to toe and sees the ruins that Mikael left from his visit in 1919.

"Is this..." Holden trailed off, looking at Klaus.

"You know your city's history. That night in 1919, when the opera house burned down on this very spot? That was my father at his worst" Klaus told him.

"What did he do?" Holden asked, curious.

"Mikael put on a show. And what a show it was. Mikael captured Marcel and tied him to a cross and put him on the stage for everyone to watch. Mikael compelled the audience to watch it all, applaud as if it were the drollest of comedies, and then to leave celebrating a terrific night at the opera. I tried to save Marcel but my father had other ideas. Rebekah attempted to intervene. All these years, I actually believed she was trying to save me" Klaus explained.

"Maybe she was. She probably felt guilty since it was her fault" Macau shrugged.

"Yeah but it kind of sounds like she was trying to save Marcel, not Klaus. Especially since her lover was the one tied up" Chay told him.

"But then big brother swooped in just when we thought all was lost. He told us we had to run. And so I ran, beaten like the dog my father believed me to be. And as we fled for our lives, he burnt it all to the ground. And with it, we assumed, Marcel" Klaus finished.

Holden frowned, now he knows why Marcel seems to hate the Mikaelson's considering they left him to die.

He doesn't blame him, considering the hatred he feels towards his former boss and so called friends when they just left him in the abandoned warehouse.

The ones from the mafia, mainly the ones from the main family, shifted in their seats as they felt guilt creeping up in them.

They didn't know that Big hated them but they understand.

After all, they did leave him there and didn't even bother taking his 'body' with them before the place exploded.

Yes, he may have been alive the entire time but even so they should've taken him with them rather than just leaving him.

If he hadn't escaped when he did then he really would've died.

"I lived, but all that we had built died, as did the last shred of me that felt human. That is what my father took from me that night" Klaus said.

He turns around and grips Holden's arm and pulls him closer to him.

"I assure you, Holden, I will not terrorize my sister and her lover for centuries. Nor will I humiliate and torment or dehumanize them. No, none of that. I will simply and quickly end them" Klaus grinned.

Klaus leans in and kisses Holden on the cheek, causing the werewolf male to blush, before vamp speeding away.

Tankhun and Tay squealed at the kiss Klaus gave Holden and grinned happily.

Yes, they realize that the hybrid is on the hunt to kill his sister but if they were being honest they really didn't care about that.

They were mainly invested on the scenes between Klaus and Holden.

"Nik, wait!" Holden yelled.

But it was too late, Klaus was already gone.

Holden muttered a curse under his breath and began sprinting, hoping to find Elijah and warn him that Klaus is on the hunt for Rebekah.

Everyone tensed up a bit and looked at each other.

They wondered if Big, or even Elijah, would really be able to stop Klaus from killing his own sister.

The scene changes and we see that night has fallen.

The camera pans to the cemetery where we see Holden sprinting inside, hoping to find Elijah or maybe Rebekah.

Holden sighs in relief, and worry, when he saw Elijah and Rebekah together.

"She really didn't leave. She really stayed" Porsche breathed out.

"Well isn't she stupid" Kinn muttered, shaking his head.

Rebekah herself knows that Klaus is going to kill her because of her betrayal and instead of being smart and fleeing, she decided to stay.

If she really does die it's her own fault for not leaving.

"Guys!" Holden yelled.

Elijah and Rebekah turn around and are surprised to see Holden running towards them.

"Holden, what are you doing here?" Rebekah asked.

"What am I doing here? What are you doing here?" Holden asked once he reached them.

"I agree. Rebekah, you should be on the other side of the world by now" Elijah told his sister.

"I doubt that would've been far enough" Tem muttered.

Rebekah sighs and shakes her head at the two of them.

"You, Holden and I know that wouldn't have been far enough" Rebekah said.

Holden sighs and opens his mouth to say something but doesn't get the chance to do so as someone beats him to it.

"GET AWAY FROM HER!" Klaus roared.

Everyone in the theater violently flinched at the roar, they hadn't expected that.

The three of them flinch and turn around to see Klaus standing on the other side of the cemetery.

"She's mine" Klaus declared.

His grip on the white oak stake tightens and his eyes turn yellow as the veins protrude on his face and his fangs come out.

Elijah holds Papa Tunde's blade in his hand. The blade shakes as Elijah's vampire face comes out and he bares his fangs at Klaus with Rebekah quickly doing the same.

Holden clenches his jaw and flashes his werewolf eyes and gets into a fighting stance.

The four of them are ready to attack.

As the screen turned black, indicating that the episode was over, everyone couldn't help but feel tense.

But at the same time they felt anticipation building up inside of them.

They wanted to know what was going to happen, they wanted to know if Klaus really was going to kill Rebekah or would Big and Elijah stop him.

It's fair to say that they were ready to watch the next episode.
