Music for my heart

Fast paced sprints
Long distance and endurance

My heart is beyond fragile
The athletic strain
Forcing it to beat faster
Filling me with fear
That I will be overwhelmed

The soothing rhythmic
Manipulation of ivory
Beneath my fingers and
Reverberation of my larynx
Calm my soul

The harmonious noise
Relaxes my heart

It is not a wishful hobby
To fulfill a fantasy
It is a necessity

Without it I am unable
To live as I will
I do not simply create
music OF the heart
I create music FOR mine

This poem was inspired by a friend of mine. I found out that she does music as a subject because it slows down her heart beat to combat the adverse effects of her competitive athletics. I thought, "Woah, that's so kewl!" so I wrote a poem about it 👅 Presenting Poem #9. Hope you like it. Vote and Comment pwease!!!
