Part 1

Griffith and Olivia Pierce sat around the glowing red circle on the dank dungeon floor, reciting chants while holding hands, and in place of the circle a portal began to open. Soon, a small demon pulled his way through it, just enough to poke his head through.

"We have called you here to make a pact," said Griffith. "We will open up the portals to Hell, but first you must give us access to its dark power."

The demon gave out a cynical chuckle. "Oh, really? And how exactly do you plan on doing that? I bet that you two are just trying to trick me into giving you power."

"With this," Olivia said as she held out an amulet."

"T-t-that's..!"

"That's right." Griffith couldn't help but smile to himself. "It's the Egg of Behelit. The only artifact capable of bridging the realms of Hell and Earth. And all we want is access to your power."

Guts woke up again on the hard floor of the forest. Ever since he accidentally killed Gambino, he's been on his own after escaping from the angered mercenaries. He didn't mean to kill him, but it hardly mattered now.

Getting up, he started to walk again towards the next village, where he would replenish his supplies and search for work to get more coins in his purse. The hike there was pretty uneventful, apart from the occasional squirrel or deer, but Guts had plenty of food and didn't bother killing them. A few more miles left...

A gust of wind blew in Guts' face, and immediately he was hit with the smell of burnt flesh, and nearly made him vomit. What exactly happened? At this point he had one real logical option: to run away and hope that whatever happened to the people living there doesn't happen to him. But at the same time, some part of him wanted to investigate and what happened and as well as check for survivors.

A loud animalistic, bovine-like roar echoed, and rushing towards him was a towering Cyberdemon.
