Chapter 2- Hold my hand

Myul-mang walks to her through the frozen time while Dong-kyung just stares at him in awe and confusion as she expected the white truck to hit her.

(Doom (멸망) · SHIN MINYONG starts playing in the background as Myul-mang starts walking towards Tak Dong-kyung)

He asked her with a smirk "So do you trust me now? Choose now, will you die here, or take my hand?"

She thinks for some time and utters "My answer is......." Myul-mang interrupts and says "me". Dong-kyung takes Myul-mang's hand and lets him help her up. As they cross the street, she gasps in amazement as she sees time rewind to before the incident like nothing happened. Myul-mang warns her not to let go of his hand if she wants to live , she proceeds to grip his hand tighter not letting go.

They sit in starbucks, still holding their hands, and Dong-kyung tries to find a polite way of asking what the heck he is. Myul-mang reminds her of all the impossible things she's witnessed him do, but Dong-kyung is struggling to accept the truth.

Myul-mang sighs heavily and causes a sudden disruption in the air causes all the street traffic lights to flicker and shut down simultaneously. A still confused Dong-kyung asks him "Are you something related to electricity?"

He scoffs at her and pointedly looks out the window and tells her to do the same. Dong-kyung gapes widely as she sees several comets shoot across the sky. The people around them start to panic, they start screaming saying it's the end of the world. She pleads with him to stop the comets and that she trusts him now , he mocks her laughing with a smirk "What? This isn't my doing. How will I stop the comets? As you said my identity is related to electricity right?"

She says again and again " I said Cut it out , Okay okay I got I got it stop the comets stop it already"

She sighs in annoyance and grips his hand even harder , Myul-mang returns everything to normal and explodes the comets in the air causing a firework.

Myul-mang then proceeds to say to her with a smirk "I am not so nice am I? That is the guy you have struck a deal with , so keep that in your mind that I'm bad". Dong-kyung sighs and feels offended at his words and says to him "You're a monster"

Suddenly, Myul-mang gets lost in his thoughts as he hears a man running to the rooftop from afar. Myul-mang says "Enough fooling around now I have to go, I hope you enjoyed the show of my powers , consider it a celebration of our partnership in this contract" , he proceeds to get up but Dong-kyung is reluctant and doesn't let go since he told her to hold his hand if she wants to live. He covers her wrist with his other hand, leaving a bracelet made of a thread with a shade of hot pink.

He then says whenever she wears this bracelet she won't feel any pain and that he's fulfilling his promise to make her dying days painless. But also to ensure that she doesn't run away, she has to "recharge" it every day before midnight by holding his hand. He reminds her to choose the one wish that she wants and walks off saying her name "Tak Dong-kyung".

She yells at him asking him how he knew her name and he disappears then after a while , the white truck driver enters Starbucks and she asks him whether he saw anything weird today on the road near the Seoul national university hospital and the driver looked puzzled denies and says "No, nothing bad happened" , She thinks to herself "So I guess it never happened"

Myul-mang arrives at the rooftop of a prison and there is a guy standing on the edge of the terrace, the culprit who stabbed the five people in Seoul downtown before , the one who Myul-mang promised that he will return the doom too.

The man pleads to Myul-mang saying he's been hearing voices in his mind of people cursing him to die and he can't take it anymore. Myul-mang snaps his fingers and that guy gets pulled away from the edge and he lands at Myul-mang's feet and Myul-mang refuses to allow him to have the relief of dying. Myul-mang proceeds to tell him with a smirk "I told you to not try to die, So why do you keep doing it? Like I told you before, bestowing doom is my authority."

Myul-mang gently presses his head , which increases the amount of voices making it louder in his mind and the guy goes in the corner of the terrace and start crying a lot , he then says to the murder "Three of the people you stabbed died and two are in coma. But you're still well and alive, so shouldn't you be thanking me?" The murderer says "That wasn't my plan , I didn't mean it" , Myul-mang laughs aloud and says "As if life ever goes the way you plan it, right?"

Myul-mang vanished just as the police arrived and grabbed the culprit and threw him back in the cell.

Meanwhile on the streets of Seoul, Dong-kyung ignores a call from her cheating ex and goes to her best friend's house. Where she finds Na Ji-na curled on the ground, lamenting that it's all gone. Dong-kyung covers her mouth in horror to realize the power outage that Myul-mang made Ji-na lose all her writing for the upcoming episode.

Ji-na doesn't see the point in rewriting it since her work hasn't been getting a good response anyways. Dong-kyung keeps the editing team's criticisms of the webtoon to herself and convinces Ji-na to get back to her computer to write. She can't bring herself to tell her Ji-na about all the crazy things happening to her lately.

In a nearby convenience store , Dong-kyung then gets a call from Doctor Jung who's worried she's not taking her diagnosis seriously. He warns her the pain will be unbearable, but Dong-kyung muses that treatment can only slightly lessen the pain - she'll die painfully either way.

She then tells Doctor Jung "So you're telling me to choose between an excruciating death and a less excruciating death. Is that it? I don't want both". He pleads with her to not get any bad ideas. She then looks at her bracelet for a while and says "I have already made up my mind"
