As I slaved through my FST/Pre-Calc final, I couldn't help but think of the "adventure" we were about to go on that afternoon. As I finished the final trigonometry final, I smiled down at my paper, stood up and walked out the door. We had planned to meet in our school's cafeteria and then head out, as none of us had any other finals later that day.

"Look who finally showed up," teased Ty, "Was that FST/Pre-Calc exam to difficult for you?"

"Not everyone can finish their exams in 15 minutes Ty," Marissa interjected, "and hey Brenton!"

"Hey!" I replied. I did my own little head count, I saw Marissa, Tracy, Alicia, Ty, but no Corrina? "Is Corrina not coming?" I asked.

"I tried dragging her over here, but she was really insistent on reading her kindle, and writing more Disney fanfic. And I'm serious, has anyone read one of her fanfic, there should be a support group for those people," Alicia said.

"Oh, I'm sure they can't be that bad..." Tracy said optimistically. To which Alicia just responded with her disturbed face to emphasize that they were, in fact, that bad.

"Oh Brenton, I should probably tell you..." Marissa started

"Hey everyone! Are we all ready for some murderer hunting? This is so much like this one broadway musical, "Into the Woods", because you know, we're going into the woods," he then went on to sing a song from that very musical.

I moved within "whisper range" to Marissa, "Why is he here?". He, is Colin Villeda, he's a good person, he can just drive me up a wall sometime.

"I'm sorry, he found and and you know he can't take no for an answer," Marissa whispered back to me.

"If you ask me," Colin said enthusiastically, "This is going to be fantastic, anyone want an avenger cookie."

"NO ONE ASKED YOU COLIN!" I burst.

After a fair amount of silence, Tracy finally spoke up, "Well then," Tracy said, "I have the van in the parking lot, lets get going."

One awkward car ride later we arrived at the Prybank woods. Very close to the specific spot where Lili was found two months ago.

"So what exactly is the plan, search for evidence, survey the area," Ty asked, "and by the way, I brought lunch!"

"I think surveying the area sounds good," I said, "who knows, there might be something left from the investigation that the police didn't find"

"Hmmm, look at this!" Alicia yelled, she pointed out a churro wrapper, "was it possible she was eating a churro at the time of her murder?"

"Let me see that," Tracy commanded, she immediately examined the receipt attached to the churro wrapper, "Hmm just as I suspected, the last four digits of the debit card used to pay for this churro are the same as Lili's debit card." We all looked at her strangely, "I'm not a stalker... or an identity theft." she clarified.

We all laughed. "Or you could have just looked at the date and seen that the churro was purchased on the same night of the murder," Ty said in his know-it-all tone.

Suddenly all of our phones buzzed, the following appeared on the screens:

"Well that's a discrete way to abduct a child, inside a churro vending truck, real smooth." Alicia joked.

"Wait, is there any way this churro truck abduction is somehow connected to the murderer?" Marissa observed.

"You're right, I mean really there can't be more than one churro truck in Summer Valley, that would be ridiculous." I said.

"Actually there's two, my father owns..."

"NO ONE ASKED YOU COLIN!"
