Friday June 10th 2016: Morning
I was woken up that morning my the jolly melody "Into the Woods" that Colin was singing. I groaned, but did as I always do in the morning, check my phone for any new notifications. It just so happened there were some. From Jacquelyn at 4 in the morning:
Fade_Darker: Hey Hansel, I found something interesting, you might want to see this...
Fade_Darker: "File Download" 67 kg
Fade_Darker: Hansel, there's people at my door, I don't know them.
Fade_Darker: Hansel, they just kicked down the door!
Fade_Darker: Oh my god Hansel, I have to hide!
There were no further messages. I immediately tried calling Jacquelyn. I waited past the first buzz, then the second, third, forth, then voicemail. I was worried, I tried the local news. New school board agenda, School play, nothing about any sort of break in.
"I made waffles!" Colin said excitedly, "Why are you so down?"
"Nothing," I replied, I grabbed a waffle off the plate, and ate it. Say what you want about him, but he isn't a horrible chef. I clicked on the download. It was a bunch of patient medical reports.
It listed each of our names with a different diagnosis beside it:
Ty Stone - Severe Allergies
Alicia Hunter - Anger Management Problems
Marissa Dietz - Surgery Complications
Colin Villeda - Broadway Syndrome (BS)
Corrina Day - Bipolar Disorder
Brenton Thames - Diagnosis still pending
I pondered this until Tracy burst into our room. "Alright y'alls we don't have a moment to waste, have you ate? Good. Let's head out the door."
Tracy somehow succeeded in getting us all out the door and into her van in 10 minutes. Which knowing my friends, is a miracle. Driving through downtown Brewville was a sight to be seen. We had fun pointing out some interesting buildings, like "Enticing For Adults Only". We finally found 402 Sheep Street. The building was not labeled but it looked a lot like a hospital.
"Alright," I said, "So according to the little 'hint' I got, we need to check out floor 4," Leah wasn't going to be there for another 1 hour, so I thought it would be fine to look around a bit before hand.
The building was empty, furnished and all, but no one was using it. Even stranger, every light was on, and no doors were locked. It was almost as if someone wanted us here. We reached the elevator.
"I'll go check it out first, cause karate." Alicia said, she winked at us as the elevator doors closed shut.
We waited intensely for the door to reopen. It seemed to take forever, but suddenly the door opened, and inside lay Alicia, with a ninja star stuck in her head, a note attached to her simply stating, "Welcome Patients".
