( I CHOOSE YOU )
When Elena arrives at the Charity Ball, there was so many people outside the building that if you looked at it far away, they would all look like scrambling ants.
The limousine that she was ridding in finally parks in front of the building. The Driver gets out of the car and opens the door.
"Mr Roman will escort you into the ball." He says in an English accent. "Have a wonderful night."
Elena steps out with her dress in her arms. The Driver speeds away as she walks on the steps. When Elena finally reaches the door, a guard stops her.
"Name please." He asks.
"Uh-uh Elena Gilbert." Says Elena.
The Guard looks at the list briefly. "I don't see your name. Sorry, I'm gonna have to ask you to vacate the premises." He says.
"But Dick Roman invited me." Elena says.
"Says you and about 20 other girls, now go." He says.
"She's with me." A familiar voice says that makes Elena cringe.
"Sorry Mr Roman." The Guard says nervously. "I didn't know, sir."
Dick pats the Guard on the back. "Easy mistake, Frank. I'm the most eligible bachelor according to Fortune 500." He says. "Miss Gilbert." Dick offers his arm to Elena and she hesitates a little before taking it. As soon as they enter, cameras swarm around them. Elena thought she was going to go blind from the flashing lights. "Look at this, this could all be yours if you want it to be." Dick says.
"I'd rather burn in hell."
"That could be arranged."
Meanwhile, Sam is watching the whole thing on his TV. Apparently President Obama was there, so the network decided to put it on TV. Dean was nowhere in sight.
"Dick Roman has just arrived with his date." The announcer says. "Who is this girl? Her dress is absolutely gorgeous!"
Back with Elena, Dick had her talking to the richest people in America. She could've sworn she even saw Oprah.
"Elena, if you'll excuse me." Dick says as he leaves with some people she didn't recognize. For some reason she felt the need to follow him, but a blonde woman was flapping her gums.
"So where are you from?" She asks
"Mystic Falls, Virginia." Elena says.
The Woman smiles. "Oh Virginia. Do you own a mansion there or something?" She asks.
"No." Elena follows Dick movements with her eyes. "Will you excuse me?"
She follows Dick through the swarm of people. A couple of people try to talk to her, but she keeps pushing through the crowd. Elena manages to find him in a closed room behind glass. She peeks behind a wall and sees Dick arguing with someone she didn't know.
"Excuse me." A stern voice says. "What are you doing back here?"
Elena turns around to see a big and round Guard behind her. "I-I-I was looking for the bathroom." She says.
"Down the hall."
"You know, I have the sudden urge not to go to the bathroom." Elena says as she leaves back to the ballroom.
Elena walks back to the ballroom, thinking of something that has been bothering her the whole night. She knew that Dean was angry and was probably sitting around at a bar. She missed him.
"Would you care to dance?" Someone asks from behind her.
"No, I just want to-" Elena is cut off by a familiar face. "Dean?"
"Hi." He smiles.
"How did you get in here?" Elena asks.
"I may or may not have snuck in here through the vents." Dean says and Elena smiles. "It's best if we don't think about it."
"And I don't think I've ever seen you look this hot in a suit." Elena says.
"I might have stolen this too..."
Elena reaches out I grab his hand. "And I'm glad you're here." She says.
"I couldn't have you mad at me." Dean says. "I knew you only did this to protect Sam and me and I should've realized that."
A jazz song begins playing as Elena smirks at Dean. "Now how about that dance?" She says as she pulls Dean to the dance floor.
"That was just for show." Dean says.
"Come on James Bond." Elena says. "Dance with me."
Elena pulls Dean onto the dance floor amongst other dancers. Dean places his hand on her hip, pulling her close. Their noses were practically touching.
"I didn't know you could dance." Elena says.
Dean looks down at his feet. "I don't, I'm just a fast learner." He says.
"Show off." Elena says.
"But you do really look beautiful." Dean says. "It reminds me of that time when we had to save Bela from that ghost ship and we had to go to that party. You looked beautiful in that dress you wore."
Elena smiles. "You remember that?" She asks.
"It's the first time I knew." Dean says.
"Knew what?"
"How I felt about you." Says Dean.
"How do you feel about me?" Elena asks.
"I—" Dean starts.
"I believe you stole my date." Dick says as Dean and Elena separate. "How did you get in here? You're name isn't on the list. Guards!"
Two Guards Elena recognized as Leviathans approach Dean. "Really? You're such a dick!" Dean yells as they grab his arms.
"That is my name." Dick says. Once Dean has left the building, Elena tries to leave but he grabs her arm. "You can't follow him, you're my date."
"You can't keep me here." Elena says.
"Oh I think I can." Dick says. "Or you can kiss those Winchesters you love so much goodbye." Elena watches Dean's head finally leave the door and she frowns. "That's what I thought. Now I have to go accept my award, don't leave." Dick exits the dance floor.
"Excuse me Miss?" Someone says and Elena turns around. She was hoping it was Dean, but it wasn't. "Pictures from your dance?"
Elena smiles a little. "Thanks." She says as the photographer leaves. She opens it to find about five pictures of her and Dean dancing together. They looked happy.
In one of the pictures, they stared at each other with such hope in their eyes, hope that everything would be alright. But there was also love. Elena knew that Dean had always loved her, but now, the feeling was mutual.
Dick just got in the stage as the crowd cheers. Elena smiles as she runs out the door and Dick's watchful eyes follow her every move.
Dean has just opened his door to the Impala when he hears frantic footsteps following him. He turns around and sees Elena out of breath.
"Aren't you—" Dean is cut off by Elena's frantic lips.
"I don't care if Dick comes after us because we can beat him." Elena says.
