( DATE WITH A DICK )
DINER
[ ☼ ]
Sam, Dean and Elena enter a small dark diner. They all get a good look around. "Well this is...lovely." Dean says.
"Hasn't anyone told you don't judge a book by its cover?" Elena says as she takes a seat by the window. Dean slides in next to her while Sam sits across.
Dean picks up his menu. "Ooo, bacon cheeseburger. I think this place just got better." He says.
"And I'm guessing you'll be getting a Caesar Salad, Sam?" Elena jokes.
"Hey, I'm proud of my salads." Sam says. "And actually, it's the garden salad."
Dean scoffs. "Yeah, like that makes it any better." He says.
"Yeah, well I'll still be alive in 50 years while you two rot in your graves by eating all that fat." Sam says.
"Not if hunting kills us first." Says Dean.
"True." Elena says as she gets a good look around. The diner had a home-y feel to it, families laughing about nothing. She spots an old jukebox in the corner of the room and smiles.
A Waitress comes by with a smile. "Hi, I'm Jolene and I'll be your server today. What will it be?" She asks.
"I'll have the bacon cheeseburger with a side of fries and a beer." Dean says as he puts down his menu.
"Um..." Elena starts. "I'll have the cheeseburger and sweet potato fries."
The Waitress looks at Sam. "And for you?" She asks. Elena and Dean look at Sam for his response. He rolls his eyes before answering.
"I'll have the cob salad." Sam says through clenched teeth as Dean and Elena burst out laughing.
After eating a couple of bites from her burger, Elena gets up to go to the jukebox. She smiles as she enters a quarter and picks a song.
The familiar tune of Katy Perry plays as Elena bounces up and down. Sam and Dean turn their heads in confusion. "What is she doing?" Asks Sam.
"I have no clue." Dean says.
"I love this song." Elena shakes her hips.
Sam and Dean smile and laugh at how ridiculous she looks. A Worker comes over and turns off the jukebox with a stern face and walks away. Elena sticks her tongue out and stomps over to the boys.
Dean wraps his around around her. "Aw, it's okay. No one likes Katy Perry." He says and Elena shoves him off. Sam gives Dean a look that implies him to ask Elena out.
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom." Sam lies and gets up from the table. Before he actually leaves, he silently motions to Dean that he had to do it.
"So..." Dean starts. "You seem overly excited today."
"Aside from falling out of bed this morning, I feel great." Says Elena.
Dean clears his throat. "Great enough to go in a date...with me?" He says.
"Is this your lame way of asking me out?" Elena asks.
"Um...yes?"
Elena smiles brightly. "Then yes! And it better not be boring." She says and gets up. Sam appears and Dean gives him a thumbs up.
After eating out, Elena and Dean enter their motel room. "So tonight I was thinking we'd go out to see a movie and throw popcorn at the hipsters. Then after, I got a special surprise." Dean says.
"Popcorn throwing sounds like fun." Elena says. "Ooo, we should sit in the back so they can't see us!"
"Even better." Dean says as there is a knock at the door.
"I wonder who that could be..." Elena starts.
She she goes to the door and opens it to find a highly decorative box with a giant bow. Smiling, Elena grabs it and heads inside to open it. Dean looks at it in confusion.
Elena drops onto the bed, placing the box on her lap. She opens it slowly to find a long beautiful lavender dress that sparkled. "Aw Dean, you shouldn't have." She says.
"Uh, I didn't send that." Dean notices a small card at the bottom. "There's a card."
Elena picks up the small card and flips it over while Dean texts something to Sam. It was a phone number. Seconds later, Sam bursts in like there's a fire.
"What's going on? What's the S.O.S?" Asks Sam.
Elena looks at Dean. "You sent Sam and S.O.S?" She asks.
"Hey, I didn't send you that dress." Dean says. "What does the card say?"
"It's just a phone number." Elena says.
"Call it and put it on speaker." Sam says. "What could possibly go wrong?"
"Dude," Dean starts. "Jinx much?"
Elena shushes them and dials the number. They all sit and listen to the dial tone. They answer on the third ring. "Elena, I've been expecting your call."
"Dick?" Elena asks.
"And I'm guessing the Winchesters are there." Dick says.
"You've got no right sending things to our doorstep, Dick." Dean says angrily. "Lets fight like real men."
"How did you find us anyway?" Elena asks.
"I've never lost touch." Dick says. "Many of my Leviathans roam around, following your every move."
"What's with the dress Dick-wad?" Sam asks.
"I'll excuse your language for an explanation." Dick says. "Tonight there's a Charity Ball downtown and I need a companion."
"Why me?" Elena asks. "Aren't there like thousands of flimsy women in your contacts?" She says vehemently.
"Your snarky banter and beauty intrigue me." Dick says.
"You disgust me." Elena says.
Dick lets out a chuckle. "I find that as a compliment." He says.
"No way in hell." Dean says.
"I hope you consider my offer." Dick says. "You wouldn't want anything to happen to your previous Winchesters? I'll order someone to pick you up at eight."
Elena hangs up. "It's obvious there's only one solution." She says.
"No way." Sam says.
"Over my dead body." Dean says.
"I have no choice." Elena says.
Dean puts his hands on his hips. "What's to say that this Charity Ball is even real?" He asks.
"Oh it's real." Sam says as he turns the laptop for them to see. "It's all over the news."
"Dammit!" Dean yells as Elena stands up and holds his hands.
"I'll let you guys have your moment." Sam says as he leaves.
"Dean, calm down. It's going to be alright." Elena says. "I'll go and it'll be over in like two hours."
"I just know he's got something up that toothy little sleeve of his." Dean says.
Elena strokes his arm. "I have to. Dick won't hesitate to kill you." She says. "Now I'm gonna go put on this dress."
As Elena leaves to go to the bathroom, Dean takes out his phone and dials a number. "Yeah this is Dean Winchester. I'd like to cancel that dinner reservation please." He says.
Minutes later, Elena emerges from the bathroom in her ballgown. Dean's back is turned to her. "So...what do you think?" She asks.
Dean turns around and takes a good look at his beautiful girlfriend. The lavender dress she wears shows off her curves in every nook and cranny. Dean looks speechless.
"Wow...you look...beautiful." Dean says piece by piece.
Elena smiles and curtsies. "Thank you." She says. "And I know how you feel about this while Dick Roman situation, but I promise I'll be a good girl."
"I don't want you to go." Dean says sternly. "Dick is a...dick. And he likes you so that makes me hate him even more."
"You have nothing to worry about. If it makes you feel any better, I'll think of you when I'm with him." Elena says. "Because I only want to be with you. You're the guy, Dean."
"That doesn't make me feel any better." Dean says.
Elena shoves him playfully. "I'm sorry we couldn't go on that date." She says. "I really wanted to tell you something that I've been wanting to for the longest time."
"Well I hope you have a fun time on your date." Dean says.
Elena sighs. "Don't be like that. You would've done the same thing if it meant saving one of us." She says.
"He's playing you!" Dean says. "It's clear he just wants to get in your pants."
"Do not yell at me, Dean Winchester." Elena says through clenched teeth. "And you're no better. I'm going to that Ball, to save your asses." She storms out of the motel room.
"Great." Dean flops down on the bed.
