Cody takes me back inside, and into our room.

"Well, babe. Now, we offically... Well. How do I say this?" He grins.

"Officially yours?" I suggest, smiling.

"No..." He turns me around, and starts to undo my dress.

"Well, how else would you put it?" I ask him, looking over my shoulder. He kisses my bare neck, and then I feel him smile.

"We can officially..." I start laughing.

"If you say the horizontal tango, I'm going to laugh you out of the room." He pouts against my shoulder, and then starts to laugh as well. The bodice falls forward, and the skirt starts to fall.

"Okay, fine, but I want to. Sometime."

I shake my head.

"And if you don't?" I ask him.

"Ohh, I will." He smirks, and walks off, allowing me to change into my shorts and tank top. We both crawl into bed, and he turns off the light, letting us both sleep.

* The Next Morning *

I wake up to the sound of my ringtone, and check it.

Bubba 🐵:
Ohh my goodness, child.

Bubba 🐵:
STUPID RILEY! WAKE UP

WHY? WHAT IS SO IMPORTANT?!

Bubba 🐵:

What happened now?

Bubba 🐵:
She's gone.

Carly? What did you do now? I swear, Carter, you can't even keep a girl for so long as a year.

Bubba 🐵:
No you imbecile. I'm marrying her two weeks from now. No.... Mom.

OMG! Nvm, back to Carly and you later. What happened to mom?

Bubba 🐵:
She's gone, Riles. She got stabbed in a mugging last night on her way back home.

But... But... But, mommy...

Bubba 🐵:
I'm parked outside when you're ready.

I'll be out in a minute.

I sit on the edge of the bed, holding the covers and the sheets, crying. Cody rubs my back, looking at me.

"Riley?" He asks me. I sniff.

"My mom. She, uh... She's gone." I hold back the tears. Cody hugs my shoulders, and I lean back on him, the sobs getting to much to bear. He sits there with me, rubbing my arms and kissing the top of my head. I get up, putting on pants over my shorts and a see through tee shirt over my tank top. I grab my purse, phone, and shoes before leaving.

I slide next to my brother, who hugs me.

"It'll be okay." He says, and drives off.

* A Few Weeks Later *

I sit on the bench in Carly's room, looking at her.

"You're okay?" I ask her.

"Uh, no." She says, nervously.

"Just imagine that he's at my house and you're going to him on the driveway." I tell her.

"Did that work for you?" I smile

"If I told you yes, I'd be lying." I grin, and Carly glares at me.

"Okay, princess, not all of us have a fairytale romance." She turns around, and sits on the couch next to me.

"You look like something is wrong." I observe, making a face.

"I feel like we're moving way too fast. What if we don't feel this anymore after 6 months?" She looks at me, and I smile.

"When Carter does something, he means it to last. He's like super glue... It's meant to last. When he does something, he has that mentality that he wants it to be forever. So, by marrying you, he wants you to last forever. Trust me, I know." I nudge her with my shoulder, and grin.

"Super glue. I think I might use that." I laugh.

"I call copyright!" She smiles, and the door sounds with a knock.

"Riley?" Cody's voice calls, opening the door.

"Cody, what are you doing? If you film this, I swear..." He puts his hands up in surrender and grins that beautiful grin. He wraps his arms around me, and lays his head on my shoulder, grinning against my neck.

"Ahm! Carter? I need help..." Carly cries, and I smile.

"Just be yourself, he loves you anyway." Carly sighs, and I see her smile in the mirror.

"Okay. I'm ready." Cody gets off, and we walk to the door, me glancing back at her. She nods, and the music starts. Cody and I walk side by side to the altar, and split to our seperate sides. We grin at each other, and the watch as Carly comes down the aisle in her princess gown. I look at Carter, and watch the smile form on his face.

After she takes her walk, and they exchange the vows (she did use the super glue line, and then looked at me), they kiss, and the whole audience awes.

We wait a while, and they come into the reception hall. Everyone hoots and hollers for them, and they blush.

After so long, Cody plays the tape he recorded in the dressing room, after I slap him a couple times.

Carter laughs, and kisses her, sending the audience into more awes.

My mother's memorial video plays, reminding me of the funeral tomorrow.

Cody grabs my hand and squeezes it, smiling at me.

I sadly smile back, looking across the table at my brother, whose smile has dimmed as well. We look at each other, and take a deep breath.

After the videos and the meal, Carly looks at me.

"Fine.." I get up and go to the mic, where everyone looks at me.
