[32] Let Go
CHAPTER 32- Let Go
Izzy's POV
I woke up snuggled into my mom's warm embrace. I sighed with a smile and leaned into her for a second, but quickly realized there was nothing covering my arms. I yelped and jumped up, quickly throwing on a sweatshirt as my mom woke up sleepily.
"What's wrong babygirl?"
I shook my head, gripping the ends of my sweatshirt with my fists.
"Nothing, you scared me I didn't expect you to be here when I woke up."
The lie must've worked, becasue my mom smiled and touched my cheek.
"I'll always be here."
My phone buzzed on the bedside table, ruining our moment.
Jakeee; Hey! Would you be able to fit me into your schedule for today(:
Izzy; Well... that depends what you were thinking of doing... I am a busy girl you know(:
Jakeee; Oh I know! I was thinking we could get breakfast and just do whatever?
Izzy;Sure! Just tell me where to meet you!
Jakeee; Nonsense, I'll pick you up in twenty.
"Who are you texting?" I looked up from my phone, trying to hide the goofy grin that always took over my face when I spoke to Jake.
"Uhm, No one... Just a friend."
She nodded and got out of bed, "I have a meeting today, but it's only until one. What are you plans for today?"
I shrugged, "Might be going out for a little, but I'll be home before dinner."
My mom smiled and nodded before walking out. As soon as the door shut I snapped into action, rushing to get dressed so that I would look decent for Jake.
~*~
"So where to know?" I giggled, as Jake finished singing a familiar song obnoxiously loud.
"Well we could go to the movies?"
My brow furrowed as I checked the time on my phone.
"Go to the movies at eleven o'clock in the morning?"
Jake nodded enthusiastically, "Don't tell me you've never been to a morning movie?! Aw they're the best! You basically have the whole theater to yourself! You can lay across the seats and just chill. It's AWESOME. We're so going. Put your seatbelt on."
*
"This is so weird." I whispered, as Jake and I walked into the empty theater clutching popcorn and drinks.
He nodded with a smile, "Me and my dad used to do this. He'd pick me up from school without my mom knowing and bring me to the movies. I didn't realize then that he was breaking their custody agreement, but now that's stopped so I haven't been here in so long this early."
I nodded and we took our seats in the middle of the theater. Jake laid down across seven of them while I only took up five. Tentatively, he reached over and took my hand, intertwining our fingers as I felt his intense gaze on me.
"I forgot to remind you how beautiful you look."
I ducked my face to hide my blush and huge smile.
"Jakeeee."
He let out a laugh, the sound making my stomach warm, "It's true! You look great Iz."
I peeked up at him and chuckled, "Thank you."
A strange look came over his face, "Can I try something?"
Shyly, I nodded and he began to lean. My heartbeat sped up considerably and I found myself moving to meet him. Our lips pressed together softly and a fire ripped through my body. All at once, Jake pulled away and shook his head.
"I'm sorry you must think I'm such a creep and with all that happened to you.. I'm such an idiot."
I shook my head and kissed him again, cutting off his ramblings.
"Jake it's okay. I liked it." I admitted shyly.
A lazy smile crept over his face as we both turned back to the movie, but I could feel his eyes on me the whole time.
~*~
"Bye." I murmured, leaning over to kiss Jake again. My heart fluttered as his hand touched my cheek.
"Bye." He said, in a soft tone.
I couldn't keep the huge smile off of my face as I walked into the house.
"Izzy?" I slowly turned to see my mom standing there, and she didn't look happy. "Who was that boy?"
I shrugged, "Just a friend."
She shook her head, "That didn't look like just friends. I don't know if I want you dating so soon."
I rolled my eyes, "Mom we're not dating. We're just friends."
She frowned, "Friends don't kiss Izzy. I don't want you dating."
I could feel my anger growing, "Well you don't really have a say in that do you?"
Her face showed surprise, but she quickly recovered.
"Actually, I do have a say. You're my daughter Isabella. You're seventeen."
I snorted, "Look mom, we're friends. I don't really care what you have to say about it."
My mom frowned, "I don't want you seeing him."
I shook my head angrily, my voice rising, "You can't do that!"
"I can. And I will."
My dad came down then, hurrying down the stairs as he heard us fighting.
"Woah woah woah, what's going on?"
I smiled fakely, "Mommy doesn't want me to have a life."
With that, I stamped up the stairs and slammed the door to my room.
~*Demi's POV*~
I ran a frustrating hand through my hair, "She's so difficult."
Wilmer ran his hands up and down my arms, "What's going on, what happened?"
I shook my head, "She just got dropped off my some guy and I look over and they're kissing!"
He nodded, staring at me blankly, "That's it?"
I stamped my foot, "Wilmer! Do you forget what happened to her!? Are you not even a bit concerned about this?"
He sighed, "Demi of course I'm concerned, but I trust her more than I trust my protective instincts. I want to rip off every guy's head that even looks at her, but I trust her judgement and you should too. Izzy is obviously trying to work through it and move on, but it's going to be difficult and we need to hold a loose leash."
I pushed away from him, annoyed at his logic.
"Why do you always have to be against me?!"
Wilmer's expression was a mix of amusement ad annoyance, "Did you really just ask me why I take her side? Demi you're not a child."
I scowled at him and stomped up the stairs, slamming the door to our bedroom behind me as I tried to ignore the fact that I'd just imitated Izzy.
~*~
I was lying in bed for only about ten minutes before the door opened. I felt the bed shift beside me, but didn't move. Wilmer slowly moved his hand up and down my side before deliberately pressing his lips against my neck, dangerously close to my sweet spot.
"Stop it." I muttered, swatting him away.
"Hermosa." He breathed, this time hitting the most pleasurable spot on my neck directly. I couldn't hide my audible moan and I knew he was smiling.
"What do you want." His hands turned me over and pulled my body against his.
"I want to talk. You can't just expect me to not talk to you about this."
I sighed, and rubbed my face into his white t-shirt.
"I know, you were right."
His arms wrapped around me and his chin rested on the top of my head, "You just need to learn to pick your battles. Eventually she has to get over this and we're supposed to be there for her to lift her up, not hold her back. This could be the boy who breaks her heart, or her could be the one to hold it together when things get tough. Your job is to either pick up the pieces or give your blessing."
I groaned and inhaled the scent of his Cologne, "Why are you so fucking smart."
I could feel him chuckling underneath me, "I'm not. I've told you that before. I just know a thing or two about relationships."
We laid there for a couple more minutes until I turned to kiss him and a jolt went through my stomach, sending me running for the bathroom with Wilmer hot on my heels. He held my hair back as I threw up into the porcelain bowl. Fortunately, the sickness passed as quickly as it came, and I sat back into his arms, breathing heavily.
"What was that?" I moaned, wiping my eyes.
A chill went through me and my entire body became paralyzed.
"Wilmer what's todays date?"
He tone was confused, but he answered anyway.
"May twenty-fifth."
I shook my head, counting back the numbers silently.
"Demi what's going on?"
I shook my head and turned to face him.
"I'm late."
