Mei went back to her mansion. She opened the door and entered the cold and dark mansion. The Aihara mansion was extremely cold and empty. Mei ended up burning their family portraits except for one picture she didn't want to get rid of. Her grandmother. Mei went through an old box that held her beautiful and happy memories. "Meow" Her cat said and walked up to her. Mei looked at her pet cat and held out her arm

"Good girl" Mei whispered and stood up. Midnight jumped off of her and Mei walked to the kitchen to feed Midnight. Midnight followed Mei heading to the kitchen and sat patiently. Mei grabbed the cat food can and feed Midnight putting her food in her bowl.
"Meow" Midnight said and started eating her meal. Mei went back to the kitchen to prepare her own meal. After her meal, Mei decided to take a shower. She grabbed her towel and some pajamas to sleep in. She entered the bathroom and started stripping herself. Mei let her clothes fall to the floor and stared at her body seeing scars in her arms and a few scars in her body from a couple of fights she fought with people. Mei kept looking at herself and teared up. The only person she saw in the mirror was her mother. They both looked very much alike since they both had the same traits and beauty. Mei's grandmother held Mei closely comforting her. Her grandparents were usually away working around the world while Mei stayed with her parents. She mostly stayed with her mother and after her experience with her mother, Mei went to tell her grandmother

Mei thought it would turn out but it only turned out worse. After her conversation with her grandmother, Mei decided to go back upstairs to watch some TV. About a couple of minutes later, Mei muted the TV hearing cries downstairs. Mei's eyes widen recognizing that voice and immediately ran out of her room. She was about to go downstairs but stopped as she saw her grandmother on the floor bleeding from her mouth. Her grandfather stood there glaring at her
"Sh-she's just a kid! She doesn't deserve to be treated like that!" Her grandmother shouted
"Shut up. Mei will become the next successor to the Aihara Academy and we need her fully prepared" Her grandfather said
"But Alyssa isn't treating her right! She keeps beating her up! Mei doesn't need that to become a successor!" Her grandmother shouted
"Silence! I had enough with your bullshit! Whether you like it or not, Mei needs to learn to become an adult and start acting like it" Her grandfather said
"No...please...Mei doesn't need this...please..." Her grandmother said pleading on her knees
"Shut up!" Her grandfather shouted and started beating her up again. Mei was upstairs watching her grandmother being beaten. Mei clenched her fists tightly and tried to do something but she was afraid. She started remembering what would happen if her mother found out about this. She trembled in fear remembering her mother's cold lavender eyes and her strict voice telling her to not disappoint the family. Mei teared up and ran back to her room. She curled up into a ball and cried as she kept hearing her grandmother's cries. Mei went back to her bed and covered herself up with the blanket. After the beating was over, her grandmother headed upstairs going to her room. She walked in and Mei uncovered herself. She looked at her and whimpered loudly
"Gr-grandma I'm so sorry!" Mei cried. Her grandmother just walked up to her and hugged her tightly. Mei cried and hugged her back tightly. Her grandmother stroked her hair softly comforting her
"It's okay Mei. I promise we both will get out of this place" Her grandmother whispered
"Wh-when I grow up I promise to take care of you. I promise to do my very best and be able to buy a house for us to live in. We will be happy again" Mei said. Her grandmother looked down at her and smiled as she caressed her cheek softly
"We will escape one day" Her grandmother whispered
