Chapter 2

"Jay..." a low voice growled, followed by static. Jay awoke to see the Operator standing in front of him, as well as the hooded man and Tim standing next to him. No mask ... just Tim.

"Tim, what are you... leave! Get away from them!" Jay screamed as he quickly backed up, making sure to keep his eyes on Tim. Tim did nothing but stare at him, eyes empty and dull.

"Tim! Come on!" Jay screamed, even louder this time. Tears began to stream down his face. He stopped backing up and did nothing but stare at Tim.

Everything was silent. The leaves on the trees around him fell frozen. The sound of static and wind died down to complete silence. The owls stopped their calls and the crickets stopped their chirps. Jay found himself unable to move, unable to breathe.

Blood ran down Tim's face as he spoke in a deep, frightening voice. "I'll never love you."

"Jay! Jay, wake up!" Tim screamed. Jay quickly opened his eyes. He noticed that he had been gripping Tim's arm, so much to the point that blood began to drip down Tim's arm and onto Jay's fingers.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry!" Jay pleaded as he stood up to get towels to clean the mess. Before he could go, Tim quickly grabbed his arm and pulled him back to the couch.

"Worry about that later. What happened?" Tim asked, concern showing in every inch of his face.

"It's the nightmares! Every single time I close my eyes it's like this. I... I'm so sick of it! I just want it all to end." Tears began to violently stream down Jay's face as he buried his face in his hands. Tim pulled him in for support as Jay buried his face in Tim's shoulder. They kept on like this for a while, the time only able to be measured by Jay's tears. By the time he had calmed down, he was out of tears.

"Tim," Jay said under muffled breaths. His face was still buried in Tim's shirt.

"Yeah?" Tim questioned as he slowly lifted Jay off of him.

"I... I need to tell you something..."

"Yeah?" Tim had no idea what was coming next. It could have been something related to what had happened in Marble Hornets, or it could have been something related to his personal life. It could have been anything, considering the circumstances.

"I, uh... oh, God. This is harder than I thought it was going to be," Jay said as he shook. He sucked in a breath of air and unsteadily let it go. He did this one more time, then twice more, and finally a third time. Tim just sat and waited patiently. He could tell that whatever Jay was about to tell him was important.

"Alright... My dream. It was about... us. I was in the woods, and you were there, along with Brian and the Operator. There was a lot of static, like usual, and then... it stopped. Everything went silent and you had blood on your face and you told me something. It was what made me freak out and cause your arm to bleed. You... you told me that..." Tears began to stream down Jay's face once again. He thought that he had ran out for a while, but he was wrong.

"Jay. Calm down," Tim said sympathetically as he wiped away Jay's tears."What happened?"

"You told me that... you would never love me..." Tim's eyes sparked with sympathy. His usually tough expression became softer.

"Jay, you know that I... love you," Tim hesitated. "You're my best friend." He smiled weakly and looked at Jay, who seemed unaffected by this.

"But, Tim, I... I don't want to be just your best friend. I feel something special with you, something that I can't explain. I've never felt this way about anyone." While Jay spoke, he remained looking at the floor. He needed to get this off of his chest, but he couldn't dare look at Tim. He knew him much too well. He knew exactly what he would do. He knew exactly what he was thinking as he continued to speak. "And... I know what you're going to say; and don't be afraid to say it, because I won't be upset. But... I really do love you, and I want to give this... give us a shot."

"Jay... I honestly had no clue that you felt this way about me. Now I feel like a shitbag," he chuckled. "I've been leading you on, never even thinking about your feelings or what I was doing to you." He lead Jay's eyes towards his.

"I'm willing to give us a shot."
