Fortunately, Chace didn't attend the detention today. And I am definitely glad about it. My prayers finally came true for the first time since I have arrived here.

Just before 10 minutes the boring detention would be over, I asked the teacher if I could leave early as I had to go to my job and he gladly let me as he also wanted to be somewhere.

I thanked him and exited the school, hoping that I won't run into someone, specially a specific guy.

I took a breath of relief when I didn't see anyone in the school parking and on my way to barista. I reached there just 5 minutes before my shift starts. I quickly entered and saw Maria sitting on one of the tables at the corner of the shop. She was concentrating on some very important papers so I didn't disturb her. I then saw Alia taking an order from a group of youngsters, so I waited for her to finish.

After she was done, I went up to and put aha d on her shoulder.

"Hi alia, how are you?", I asked politely and she gave me a smile, showing her dimples.

"Oh hi Sophie, right?", she asked with a confused yet happy expression.

"You got that right. I just wanted your help",

"Sure, what's up?", she asked while preparing the orders which she just took.

"Today is my first day here and I wanted to know what do I have to do?",

"Oh yeah, Maria told me to show you around and help you with the machines and stuff. Just give me 1 minute, I have to attend this order", she said and kept the coffees she prepared in a tray. I nodded and gestured her to go ahead.

She smiled gratefully and went to the table to give the people on that table their orders. As promised, she came as quickly as possible but she was carrying an apron which had this shops logo.

"This is your uniform. We don't have to wear anything specific but please try to dress modestly. I don't think it's going to be a problem for you because you already look like you always dress modestly", she smiled and I laughed along with her.

I took the apron and wore it. Fortunately it suited me and I was really glad about it.

"Come on, now I have to show you how these machines work. HEY TALL GUY", she suddenly shouted and called some guy whose back was towards us. He was leaning against the table and telling something to the girls who were customers. By the way the girls were giggling, it looked like he was flirting with them. When alia shouted, it startled me and she noticed it. She gave an apologetic smile and I returned it with assuring smile that I was fine.

"Sorry for shouting but he only listens when I or Maria scream at him like a  madwoman", she joked and it made me laugh.

I looked at the guy and it seemed like he didn't hear Alia scream at him. He just shook her head and had a pissed off look.

"Who is he?", I asked, curious on who the tall guy.

"He goes to the same school as you. His name is No- oh no he can't kiss a customer", she suddenly went running towards that guy and she looked as angry as a bull.

As he was just about to kiss the girl, alia had reached him and she pulled him by his collar. His back was still towards me so I couldn't see who he was yet. Finally when alia reached where I was standing, she pushed the guy towards me by mistake and he pushed me by mistake. Due to his strong body, his push made me lose my balance but he caught me before I could fall and helped me balance myself on my foot.

"Thanks a lot......", I trailed off when I saw the guy in front of me.

"YOU!!!!", we both screamed at the same time. This has happened with us before and I think you have guessed by now who is this tall guy.

Yes ladies and gentlemen, it's Noah the Great.

"I see you both already know each other", alia interrupted mine and Noah's glaring session.

"Yes, this is Sophie who keeps stalking me wherever I go", he said and folded his arms while looking at the girls with a flirtatious smirk with whom he was flirting earlier.
His words made me lose my mind and I gave him a murderous glare.

"Excuse me? I am not stalking you cause your not worth my time. You have helped me a few times doesn't mean you can accuse me of anything that comes into your head", I fought with him and he ignored me.

"DON'T YOU DARE IGNORE ME YOU FREAK", I screamed and everyone looked and gave us shocked and surprised looks. Even Maria was looking at us by now and she stood up, coming towards us with an angry look. Shit!

"Why the are you both fighting? Noah! I know you started it because you are the one who is always the troublemaker in my shop", she glared at Noah and he just shrugged.

"Don't act like that with me young man! I am your boss over here and your my employee right now", he smiled and wrapped his arms around her shoulder.

"Sorry Maria, but this girl here always fights with me", he accused me and I gave them a shocked and confused look.

"I swear if you weren't Andreas brother, I would have already cut you into small pieces, cooked them and world have served them to street dogs", I threatened and folded my arms in a challenging manner.

"Come on Sophie, just ignore this guy, he doesn't deserve your attention", alia jumped in and advices me, which was right.

"Your right Alia, look Sophie, everyone has learned to ignore this stupid boy, I suggest you do the same. Now go with Alia so that she can help you with the machines while Noah, you are going to takeover taking orders and serving them", Maria said and we all nodded our heads, dismissing.

When we got back to work, someone came inside and when we looked, it was Andrea.

"Hi guys, met you all after a long time", she greeted and hugged Maria and Alia.

"Yes you did young lady. You didn't remember you aunt Maria for a long time", Maria glared at Andrea while she gave her a nervous laugh.

"Hi Andrea, you didn't come to meet me and send this idiot of a brother of yours", alia complained and it made Andrea laugh really hard.

"I HEARD THAT", Noah screamed from the cash counter.

"So what brought you here?", I asked Andrea.

"Well, I thought I have to be here to stop you and Noah from fighting like a married couple", Andrea joked, while alia and Maria just laughed at it.

"We are not married", me and Noah answered together again.

"Fine, whatever you both say", Andrea raised her hands in surrender.

"But Noah and Andrea, I am serious this time. This is your job and not a fight club. So I don't want both of you boxing with each other everyday otherwise I have to fire both of you", Maria threatened and looked at us.

We both nodded our heads and she smiled in satisfaction. I have decided that whatever Noah does to trouble, he will get it back when I am not on duty.

"Well, that's my cue to leave now that world war 3 has stopped", Andrea said and we all nodded our goodbyes.

Well, this is going to be looooonnnnnggggg time.

Today it has been 1 week since I have started to work at barista. And it has been 1 week Sinve my last encounter with Chace. During this one week, I haven't seen him. I did notice him attend 2 to 3 classes with me but he never came to talk to me, and so neither did I go to him. I have decided that it's better if we stay away from each other.

In this past week, me and alia have become good friends while Maria has become like a mother for me. She is really caring and helpful.

At the same time, me and Noah have started to cooperate with each other on the job. And as I had promised, whenever he troubles me, I take my revenge when we are not on duty. And guess what, my best friend helps me in it.

Today when I came to barista for my shift, I saw Chace and his group in the cafe, which include two more boys and Veronica. And as aspects, Veronica was sitting on Chace's lap, while he didn't even give attention to her.

"Hi Sophie, can you please take the order of table 5. I am busy with some work", Alia begged and I nodded. But deep down, I didn't want to because table 5 was where Chace and his group were sitting.

I internally cursed but I had to do it. I can't stay away from him for a long time. I have to face him sometime, so why not now. I wore my apron and took a writing pad and a pen with me.

As I reached the table, Chace must have noticed me because he stopped doing the work he was doing and turned around, meeting my eyes. I immediately looked at his friends and smiled at them. And two of the guys in the group gave me a friendly smile.

"What would you guys like to order?", I asked.

"You are Sophie right? You go to our school", one of the guys who was smiling earlier asked. I just nodded my head, smiling nervously.

"I am James and this is Jayden. And I think you know Chace and Veronica since they are really popular",

"Oh yeah, I am Sophie", I introduced myself.

"Yeah. Everyone knows about you and your the new girl", they smiled again and they seem like really nice guys.

"Well, we would like to order one cold coffee, one lemon slush, two raspberry cupcakes and just a minute. Chace and Veronica, what do you guys want to order?", James tried to call both of them, but by now, Chace and Veronica were making out. But you know what was unusual and awkward? Chace was kissing Veronica, but his eyes were on me and I could see him smirking against her lips. It looked like he was trying this to make me jealous or something. Well, I am not falling for his act.

When they didn't answer, James shook Chace's shoulder hard enough to stop them from making out.

Chace looked at me innocently while Veronica looked pissed off.

"What do you guys want?", Veronica asked angrily while Chace was still smirking at me. And I tried my best not to look at him.

"Order whatever you guys want to. Can't you see we are busy", she scolded James and turned to kiss Chace again. Now she is the one who is pissing me off.

"Can't you guys get a room? This is a public place and kids are here as well. And your porn is definitely not helping them", I finally exploded and Veronica gave me challenging look, asking me to shut up. But I won't.

"Well, tell those kids to get out of here", Chace said and smirked.

"Oh Chace, you're so intelligent", Veronica squealed and hugged him. This girl is seriously cracked.

"Umm if you both are done with your PDA, can we please order?", Jayden asked with a pissed off expression.

"Fine, we want to order two chocolate milkshakes", Veronica finally ordered and I wrote it down.

"So one cold coffee, one lemon slush and two chocolate milkshakes. Is that all?", I repeated the order and asked.

"Yeah", James smiled and I smiled back.

"It will take about 7 minutes", I said and headed towards alia to give her the order slip.

"Alia, can you please make one cold coffee and one lemon slush while I prepare two chocolate milkshakes?", I asked her for help.

"Yeah sure", she smiled and went off to work.

After all four drinks were ready, I put them in a tray and headed off to table 5 to give their orders. I noticed that now Veronica was sitting on chair and not on Chace's lap.

"Here is your cold coffee, lemon slush and chocolate milkshakes", I smiled while putting the cups on the table.

"Thanks", Jayden smiled and as I turned to leave, a leg came in my way which made me lose my balance, making me scream in surprise that brought everyone's attention to me. But a pair of hands caught my waist and pulled me back until I was sitting on someone's lap. As I turned around, I was met by a pair of light brown eyes which belonged to an annoying guy.

"Oops, did the princess fall for me?", he taunted and smirked. I gave him an annoying look and tried to stand up, but his hands only tightened around my waist, not letting me stand.

"I think I am fine now so can you let me go?", I asked with annoyance, but it seemed like he was unaffected. By now I could feel everyone's staring at us with amusement, even Alia. But when I looked around, two people were not happy about this situation. One was Veronica who was glaring at me and the other person was me. Duh!

"Hmmm", Chace made a face like he was in deep thought if he should let me go or not. "No!", he finally decided and smirked again.

"What do you mean by no? Let me go", I started pushing him back but he didn't budge.

"I mean that I don't wanna let you go until I get something", he demanded.

"What do you want?", I asked finally giving in.

"A kiss", he demanded again and my mouth fell open.

"No0ooo", I argued and he raised his eyebrows.

"Only one kiss princess and you are free to go",

"No", I folded my arms and huffed in annoyance.

"One", he asked again.

"No",

"Yes",

"No",

"Yes",

"No",

"Yes", and as the word yes left my mouth, I covered it with my hand.

"So you said yes and now you have to do it", he said and brought his cheek forward.

"Fine", I said and gave him a quick peck on his cheek. And as promised, he let go of me and I got up, running away from him.

"That was quiet a show you out there", alia smiled naughtily and pissed me off further, so I decided to ignore her.

After recovering from what happened, I returned back to doing my job. Fortunately, Chace and his group left after sometime and I took a breath of relief.

Today I have a extra shift till midnight since it was Noah's job, but he is visiting his grandma with Andrea since their grandma is sick. So I am a substitute in Noah's place, although I am really scared to work till so late. Alia and Maria are going to be with me till 10:30 in the shop. After that I am on my own until midnight with Maria only. You must be wondering why a cafe will stay open until midnight? Well, to answer your question, the cafe will stay open until 10pm and extra 2 hours are for cleaning and preparing the cafe for the next day.

It's 11pm right now and alia has already left. She wanted to stay but I refused because I didn't want her to be tired. I had started my shift last today so that I can work till late.

As I was cleaning the tables, I heard someone banging on the door. Maria told me to lock the doors, dim the light put the closed sign board on the door. So that anyone who comes knows that the cafe is closed.

I tried to wave them off, telling them that the cafe is closed, but they didn't stop banging the door and shouting at me to open up. I started to ignore them, although they were now creeping me out.

As the banging sound got louder, Maria must have heard it because she came out of her office immediately.

"Who is banging on the door?", she asked as she looked towards the door.

"I have no idea. I tried to tell them that the shop is closed but they are not listening to me. Can you do something?", I asked her with hope.

"They are the same group of guys who usually come drink and trouble me. Today they are going to get it from me. Give me a minute", she excused herself and went to the list hen. After some minutes, she came outside with a knife to which my mouth fell open.

"Are you going to attack them or-" I asked but she cut me off.

"Oh no dear! This is just to scare them and warn them never to mess with me again. They usually come here but thanks to Noah, he handles them", she smiled and went towards the door, and I, being the stupid girl I am, followed her.

"WHAT DO YOU BOYS WANT NOW?", Maria screamed so that they could hear her over the locked glass door.

"OH HI OLD LADY, WHO'S THIS CHICK?", they asked, pointing at me. From the way they were stumbling on their feet and talking, it looked like they were really drunk.

"THAT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS", Maria glared and showed them the knife, which only made them laugh.

"DO YOU THINK YOUR TINY KNIFE IS GOING TO SCARE US AWAY?", they laughed and by now, I was panicking and from Maria's expression, it looked like she was in the same boat as me.

"WHAT DO YOU BOYS WANT?", Maria asked.

"WE WANT A PIECE OF THIS CHICK AND WE WILL LEAVE", they said, pointing at me again.

"NO! NEVER. NOW LEAVE BEFORE I CALL THE COPS", Maria argued.

This time the boys were whispering something and the guy who was answering us smirked and nodded to what the other guy said to him.

"FINE! WE ARE ARE LEAVING. BUT WE GET WHAT WE WANT", he said and they all left, but not before looking at me from head to toe, which disgusted me.

As they left, I sighed in relief and looked at Maria, who was still looking outside.

"They're gone. What are you looking at?", I asked with curiously.

"Sophie, I think you shouldn't walk till your house. Can't someone come to pick you up? I am really scared for you. I am sure they will do something", she said with a worried look.

"Don't worry Maria, I will be fine", I assured her but I don't think she believed me.

"I would have come with you to drop you at your house but as you know by house is on the other side. It would be very far for me",

"It's fine Maria, I will be fine", I assured her again.

It's 12:00am right now and I am finally done with my shift. After a lot of assuring, Maria finally let me go. But deep inside, I wish I would have accepted her offer to drop me home. The kind lady later offered to drop me but I refused.

Right now I was going towards an alleyway which leads to my colony. But this is a long creepy alleyway. As I was walking, I heard some footsteps behind me. But when I turned around, there was no one. Thinking it as my illusion, I shrugged my shoulders and started walking again. But this time, I swear I heard footsteps, and this time, they were really near to me.
I then started walking faster and the footsteps grew louder and faster and.........nearer. Safe me god!

Walking faster didn't help so I started running, but then a pair of strong arms came around my waist and as I was about to scream, a rough hand covered my mouth. One person was holding both of my legs, one was holding a knife to my throat.

"Make a noise and your dead", the guy holding the knife threatened me, although I couldn't see him due to the darkness.

"We told you that we get what we want", a guy whispered in my ear, and his voice sounded familiar. Wait! It's the same guy who was troubling me and Maria earlier. My eyes widened and when I looked at him, I was right.

Shit! What did I get myself into? And great! Just great! I didn't bring my pepper spray with me today because my stupid brain thought that I won't need it.

I didn't struggle or make a noise because I didn't want to die. I was waiting for the right time. After sometime of them carrying me, they took me somewhere darker and finally put me down on the ground in a standing position. But before I could escape, the leader came blocked my way and pinned my wrists to the wall behind me.

"You think you can escape me? Well, your wrong", she smirked and started leaning in while all the other guys with him started laughing at my misery. I turned my face to the side to avoid kissing him. I even tried to kick him but he blocked my leg with his knee. After struggling a lot, I finally broken down as a tear ran down my cheek.

"LEAVE ME! HELP!", I creamer but they kept laughing at me.

"Keep shouting you bitch! No one is going to save you", he smirked and started leaning again for a kiss while his one hand held both my wrists to the wall and one hand went to my thigh, slowly going upwards toward my there. And this made me cry harder.

"WHO SAID NO ONE IS GOING TO SAVE HER?", an all too familiar voice shouted from behind all the guys. As I tilted my head to the side see who it was, a wave of relief washed over me when the figure came into my view, because I know he was going to save me from there demons.
