"Ⓙeon Jungkook!"

Jungkook snapped his head up and met eyes with the professor who was glaring in his direction. This is the second day in a row I've caught you sleeping during my lectures!" Mrs Yong barked at him. "Do you find my teaching boring?"

Students around him started snickering as the male tried to hide his red cheeks with his sleeves. "N - No Professor," he stuttered embarrassed, "I'm really sorry. It won't happen again."

The professor scoffed as she continued the lecture, though Jungkook noticed her gaze always went back to him to check if he was still following.

"What's up with you?" Oh Sehun, who sat in front of him (also a friend of his douchy roommate), laughed at him.

"Like you care," he muttered back as he rested his head on his hand, trying to stay awake through the rest of the last lecture he had for today. At least it was Friday, and that meant the weekend in just half an hour away.

"You okay Jungkook?" he heard a sweet voice from behind him. When he turned his head, his eyes met with the same hazel eyes that he met when he first started college.

"Jihyo?" he asked. "Yeah, I'm fine," he forced out a smile.

She smiled back.

Jungkook felt a bit guilty. Ever since he first asked the girl to hang out after a lecture, he completely bailed on her that day and they never spoke ever since. He believed she was angry with him, but she didn't seem to be anymore. Maybe she'll even ask him what exactly happened that day.

The lecture ended before Jungkook could drowse off and shoved his books and laptop into his backpack and was about to exit until he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Jungkook, hey, can we talk?" she asked.

He was a bit surprised, but he nodded and followed her through the hallways.

"So, I might've seemed like the biggest bitch to since two years ago, but I don't know if you noticed I just recently got back to school."

Now Jungkook felt like a bigger douche. He hadn't even noticed. "Uhm..."

"I didn't expect you to have noticed," she smiled reassuringly, "but I've been sick so that's why I was absent, and I was lucky enough to be taught whilst I was at the hospital and I could return back here just a few weeks ago. I hesitated to approach you again as you didn't look at me once, but I sincerely want to apologise for leaving so suddenly without explaining anything to you. I hope you weren't hurt."

Jungkook was utterly confused. "Wait, you left that day?" he asked as he frowned. "I didn't return until later because I shoved the door on my roommate's face and had to guide him to the school nurse. When I returned, you were gone and I thought you were angry with me for taking so long."

Jihyo's eyes widened by his explanation. "Oh," she mumbled. They both avoided each other's gazes before she spoke up again. "Uhm, so I guess we both left, huh?"

Jungkook nodded guiltily again. "Sorry. I did return, but you were gone. And I had to help him, you know?"

She smiled. "I get it. Wasn't your roommate Kim Taehyung? Didn't he study abroad?"

"Yeah, he left two years ago. He's about to return," he explained simply.

"I guess you won't be too happy about his return then?" she chuckled.

Jungkook frowned again at her. "Don't you know?" he asked. "We went out before he left."

The girl's jaw dropped at the sudden news she just heard. "Wait, Kim Taehyung is your boyfriend?" she asked unsurely.

"Well, we were boyfriends...to be honest, I don't know anymore. We haven't spoken in a few months now so I'm confused, but once he comes back, I'm sure we'll clear things up," he smiled.

Jihyo patted him on the shoulder and snickered cutely. "I'd like to catch up with you again. You were sweet since day one. Wanna grab a coffee on Sunday at Mingo's?" she suggested.

Jungkook nodded immediately. "Would be great. See you there," he grinned and they waved goodbye. The raven-haired male was happy by chatting with Jihyo again he almost walked into Park Jimin, who was just behind him.

"Got yourself a girlfriend now, Jeon Jungkook?" he teased.

"Never mind me," he giggled, "did you guys enjoy yourselves after I left?" he asked as he wriggled his eyebrows at his best mate.

"Nah, you totally killed the mood," Jimin laughed.

"Sorry mate," he grinned. They went to a diner to get something to eat together and continued chatting as they always did. "How are you and Yoongi by the way?"

The two males had been together for a while now. Jungkook had never seen a happier couple than them. Or, actually, he had.

"Not as good as Namjoon and Seokjin hyung," Jimin snickered.

"Yeah, they're probably at it right now as we speak in their apartment," they chuckled, though they tried not to imagine it too detailed.

Namjoon, Taehyung's older brother, had confessed his feelings to Seokjin right after Taehyung left abroad, and not too long ago he proposed to him as well. They planning their wedding, though they want to take it slow as they're still young. But overall, they're happy together.

Jungkook to be honest: he felt jealous of his friends. From the bottom of his heart, he wished he had something like that with Taehyung. What if Taehyung had stayed? What if he chose to stay with Jungkook? Maybe they'd already be engaged. Maybe they would've moved out together. Maybe they would've dropped college and ran off together.

But the thought didn't scare Jungkook. As long as I'd be with him.

"Jungkook?" Jimin said as he waved his hand in Jungkook's face. "You here?"

"Sorry, what?" he asked as he returned back to reality.

"You always doze off," the elder commented, "you okay?"

"I'm fine, hyung."

"Did you hear what I said?" he asked.

"Yeah, I did."

"So you're okay with that?"

To be honest, Jungkook had no idea what Jimin was talking about. "Yeah."

The raven-haired junior student returned to the dorms and headed for his room after he had eaten with Jimin and started on his homework straight away. By each day with lectures meant each day with homework. The male didn't bother though - it kept him busy and distracted, and it also kept his roommate out of campus. How he wasn't kicked out yet was behind his imagination.

As the student opened the door to his room, he immediately heard yells from inside, which made him freeze on the spot.

"Just calm down!" he heard Chanyeol's voice yell, though the other person didn't calm down one bit.

"Did you just tell me to calm down?" the other person yelled. "Has that ever worked on you?"

Chanyeol went silent for a moment so Jungkook guessed he was a bit stunned, and then he seemed to have been spotted by the door. "Jungkook, I'm sorry, but you need to leave right now."

Jungkook was stunned by how Chanyeol was surprisingly nice and didn't just yell at him and slamming the door in his face, and it made him act tough. "But I sleep here. Where else will I go? It's soon curfew."

"Don't make me throw you out. Stay with that little boyfriend of yours or something. I need you to leave right now," he growled at him, which made the elder whimper and quickly closed the door.

He didn't leave right away and tried to eavesdrop but he couldn't form their yellings to words through the door and decided to text Jimin and asked if he could crash his room for the night. His roommate didn't allow it though, and so Jungkook texted Hoseok instead since he didn't live at the campus any longer and shouldn't have strict rules.

'Sure thing mate. I'll text you the address.'

Surely enough, Hoseok sent him his location and Jungkook ended up taking the bus to Hoseok's apartment and were about to meet his flatmate for the first time as well.

"I'm outside," Jungkook said to the phone as he had called his friend.

"Just enter. I'm in the kitchen right now," Hoseok said as then hung up.

Jungkook did as told and entered. At first, he thought he heard his flatmate in the lounge and tried to search for him.

"Ah!" something screeched. "A burglar! A burglar!"

Jungkook turned around right away, spotting a massive cage just by the door frame.

"Is that...a parrot?" he asked.

"Jack, calm down, calm down. It's not a burglar," Hoseok whispered and petted the bird in the cage that was staring intently at Jungkook whilst flapping its wings.

"A burglar!"

"No, it's okay. See?" he hugged Jungkook to show the bird he was being affectionate and so the bird calmed down.

"A friend. A friend!"

Jungkook couldn't help but snort and stare at Hoseok. "Your flatmate is a parrot?"
