Ⓗis hair wasn't blond anymore. It had turned brown, back to its original colour. It suited him, the raven-haired male thought, though it didn't make him stand out as much as it did before - overall, he was still a beauty; he was perfection.
During the lecture, Jungkook rested his head on his arm tiredly - he could barely hold his eyes open; he had been awake the night before to finish up his project that was due today, and as his class was split in two to present their project, he grabbed the opportunity to rest and accidentally drifted off.
He immediately woke up as his teacher called his name, though he wasn't supposed to present his project until tomorrow. "Yes?" he answered.
"What's on your face, Jeon Jungkook?" the professor asked as she tried to get a closer look at him, though he sat pretty far back in the auditorium. "Who drew on his face?"
No one answered, only faint giggles were heard throughout the room. Jungkook touched his face to try and see if he had markings on his face, and some black ink was caught on his finger.
"That's really childish of you, to prank your fellow classmates," the professor continued as no one answered her, "and Jungkook, don't fall asleep during my lectures." He nodded instantly, and finally, the lecture was over and he hurried to pack his books into his backpack.
He caught sight of the student who usually sat in front him smirking amused in his direction, which made him frown back. "Was it you?" he asked with a slight glare.
"Your roommate asked me to do this favour of his," he smirked back, and then he disappeared with his friends.
The young male hurried over towards the bathroom and caught his own reflection. It was indeed some markers on his face. On his forehead, it read "GAY AF" and on his right cheek it said "SUCK" and on the other "ME", and on his nose was a poorly drawing of a penis.
His face was burning up in both embarrassment and anger as he aggressively washed it off of his face and stormed towards the dorms.
Jungkook slammed the door to his dorm harshly, startling his roommate awake.
"What the fuck is your problem?" he cursed as he glared at the elder one.
Jungkook, who was now a junior at the same University, stared at his new roommate ever since his boyfriend had left to study abroad, and now he was sharing his dorm with the person he despised the most on Earth. "You're my fucking problem Chanyeol! Why did you do that, you cunt?" he yelled at him.
The tall foreigner grew a smirk on his face as he realised what the elder was talking about. "I did it for the laughs, obviously," he muttered tiredly, resting his head back on his pillow. "Now let me sleep, I was out all night."
"Now that's your problem mate," Jungkook murmured, still having his piercing glare onto the exchange student. Although his name, Park Chanyeol, was Korean, he grew up in Australia and didn't arrive until last year. He was fluent in their language and culture, but he was still a spoiled brat who acted as if everyone was below him and he managed to get under the raven-haired male's skin all the time.
"Can you just get the fuck out?" Chanyeol grunted as he covered his head with his covers, trying to block his noisy roommate.
Jungkook was more than happy to not be near his presence and stormed out of the room, and instead, he went over towards his now best friend's room. "Can you fucking believe that prick?" He threw himself on the bed, the black-haired male laying on the other, glancing at him worriedly.
"What did Chanyeol do this time?" Jimin asked.
"He just annoys me at every chance he gets," he grunted, "he either comes to me personally to pull a prank on me or makes his friends he somehow managed to gain to do it for him, like today. You know Oh Sehun in my class? Chanyeol had told him to draw on my face as he must've noticed I had been up all night to do my project and was drowsy during the lecture. And do you know what he drew on me? It said 'GAY AF' and 'SUCK ME', and also had a drawing of a penis. How embarrassing," he explained, still feeling embarrassed and angry over the immature prank.
"He got no chill," Jimin agreed, chuckling slightly.
"You think it's funny, don't you?" he glared back.
Jimin tried to hold back his smile. "Not at all," he lied, but then he couldn't hold back his laughter any longer. "I just wish I was there to witness it all."
Jungkook rolled his eyes. "It's not funny," he muttered. "They think they can do whatever they want with me, and whenever. I'm sick of their pranks. Can't they go and prank someone else? This is basically my freshman year all over again," he whispered the last part, though his friend still heard him.
"So you expect to fall for Chanyeol then?" Jimin teased.
"No, I don't," he muttered back. "Chanyeol is a prick. Besides, I know he fancies this senior in another course, though I only know his name."
"Wait, who?" he asked.
"Byun Baekhyun," he said, "I heard his friends chat about it in class when they thought no one else heard, though I haven't mentioned it to Chanyeol. I bet he'll become even more aggressive towards me as I'm not supposed to know." He sighed at the thought.
"Why not use it against him then?" Jimin suggested. "To defend yourself, I mean."
"He'd kill me before I'd have the chance of using it," he said sadly. "Seriously, he'd just see right through me right away." He sighed deeply as the memories of his roommate's pranks on him rolled inside his head, making him feel anger right away.
"Just try to hold on or request a room exchange?" the elder suggested. "By the way, have you heard from Taehyung?" he asked.
Jungkook's heart sank as soon as Jimin mentioned his former lover he loved dearly in the past and still loved. "I haven't heard from Taehyung in seven months," he replied sadly.
Jimin seemed surprised by this. "Really?" he asked with wide eyes. "You don't know about him returning to Korea then? He graduated from school and he wants to come home and start work. He's actually having an interview in two weeks, so he'll be home by then, depending on the tickets. I'm actually going to get him with my parents' car at the airport when he's bought the tickets."
Jungkook was stunned hearing this news. How couldn't Taehyung have told him about his return? Although they've had some complications and their relationship hadn't been the best ever since the elder had left, he still could've told the younger when he'd return.
Didn't Taehyung want to meet him? Didn't he want to fix up what they left unfixed? It broke Jungkook's heart.
Jimin could tell how sad the younger was and just continued to stay quiet, and eventually, he left his room. He was sure his roommate was still in their room, so he decided to wander around instead; he had no classes left and the only important thing left was getting started on an assignment he hadn't started with yet, and decided to spend his remaining time in the library before his roommate would most probably go out by the evening and stay out all night, as he usually was doing.
He brushed his fingers through his hair frustrated as he just stared at the screen on his laptop, staring at the few useless sentences he had created. They didn't make sense and he pondered whether to remove them, but then he'd end up having just a blank page, which definitely didn't motive him more.
"Need any help?"
Jungkook raised up his head as he spotted a familiar figure hovering over him with a grin forming his face. "Hoseok?" Jungkook smiled as he stood up to give him a hug. "Why are you here?" he asked surprised but happy.
In the past, Jungkook used to hate Hoseok, and he pretty much had it mutual, but they managed to clear up the hard feelings and overcame them. As Taehyung, the mutual crush of theirs studied abroad, they had loads of time to befriend each other and just focus on their friendship instead. And when Jungkook first got to know Hoseok, he found out they had a lot of common interests and they often hung out. Now that Hoseok was out of college and started working, he saw him less, though they tried to hang out whenever they could.
"I'm here to see my best friend," he grinned as he sat down beside the raven-haired boy and glanced at his laptop. "Mate, you're struggling," he chuckled.
"Then help me instead of laughing at me," Jungkook said as he rolled his eyes.
"Sure, but I can't stay for long. I was just nearby so I thought of dropping in. Didn't actually think you'd be in the library though," the elder laughed amused.
"Why did you come here then?" Jungkook muttered. "Anyway, can you start a few sentences for me? I can manage to continue, but I always have a hard time getting started."
Hoseok read through his assignment paper and then back up on the screen. "Firstly, these sentences are complete trash, so I'll remove them," he pointed out and replaced them with his own formed sentences that made much more sense to the younger student than his own, and so he seemed to grasp how he could continue the paper.
"How did you do that?" he asked amazed as Hoseok shoved the laptop back to the student and stood up from his seat, ready to take his leave.
"I've done loads of these assignment Jungkook," he chuckled, "I know how to write a paper. Besides, I do that a lot now because of work. But I gotta blast now, my flatmate is waiting for me as we need to go grocery shopping. I'll contact you soon, yeah?" Jungkook nodded back and told him to take care, and then the elder left again after a quick visit.
Jungkook felt much more refreshed by his friend's visit and managed to come pretty far with his assignment; he was almost done, actually, but it was starting to get late and it was almost past curfew, and so the raven-haired male returned back to his dorm, and just as he had predicted earlier, his roommate was nowhere in sight.
He crashed his body onto his bed, though it felt uncomfortable when he felt something weird poking his skin. He lifted himself up and checked his mattress, and, of course, there were crumbs of chips everywhere all over his bed.
"Fucking Chanyeol," he cursed under his breath as he brushed off the crumbs and laid back down again.
The male struggled to fall asleep as he couldn't get his mind off of what Jimin had told him earlier - about Taehyung's return to be exact. He still didn't understand what he was thinking about or what he wanted.
From Jungkook's point of view, it seemed as if the elder didn't want to see him anymore, and certainly not being in a relationship with him any longer. Actually, they agreed to end their relationship about five months when Taehyung left as they found it too hard and stressful when school kept on occupying them, and so they agreed to just chat whenever they could. But seven months ago was the last time Jungkook had heard from him, and the fact he had told Jimin about returning home and not Jungkook made it clear to him that he didn't want to continue their friendship anymore.
