Vee's been in a depressed mood again. He won't smile, he won't eat, and I know he hasn't been sleeping.
His godfather and sister came to the house to tell him and Jessie that they have a place to stay, so they went back there. I still saw Vee every day after school though.
I'm gonna do it. He makes me worry way too much. I love him, but I can't keep worrying about him every day of his life.
Vee was sitting on my bed, staring at his inner forearms. I took a deep breath and sat next to him.
"Vee, we need to talk."
He looked at me.
"I think. . ." I trailed off for a moment. "I think we should take a break. . ."
"Wh. . . What do you mean?" He said.
"I just- I can't take this anymore, Vee. I can't take the constant worrying whether or not you're gonna kill yourself." The look in his eyes made me feel even worse.
"I thought you cared about me. . ." He said quietly.
"I do care about you Vee!" I said. "I love you, but this is just too much for me right now."
Vee nodded and looked down again, but the look didn't leave his eyes. "So. . . We're through?" He said.
"I guess so. . ."
