twenty two
Abrar was so dead today.
Haya glared at her phone as she walked upstairs, after taking one last glance at the entrance. Her husband has promised to take her out for a long drive but there was a problem at his election party's office and he had to stay back. Which is why she's so pissed right now.
It's been a few weeks since their first kiss. It was slightly awkward in the first two days but they brushed it off eventually, they were married and it was okay to be attracted to your spouse or to kiss them.
The family apologized to Haya for leaving her alone in the function, except for Bano of course. She was rather happy that Abrar was hurt in the process. Nothing makes her happier than seeing Abrar hurt and sad.
Meruza though was very sorry and had to apologize for almost three days straight to get Haya to smile at her. Turns out she was with Iflan the whole time.
But things moved on pretty quick. And that incident was long forgotten. Life has been going on just fine with little fights every now and then. But Haya was beginning to fall in love with Abrar, slowly.
Looking at her reflection in the long mirror in their room, made Haya angrier. She has taken lots of efforts to get ready for him. But Mr Shah like always couldn't make it at the last moment.
A loud horn from outside brought her out of trance, she knew this sound! It was his car's horn. With a mischievous grin, she jumped onto the bed and completely covers herself with the duvet and waited for him to get upstairs. Time clicked fast and Abrar was in the room before she could even pretend to be asleep, but she shuts her eyes anyways and wondered what he'd do next.
"Haya... You're asleep already? What about my dinner?" Abrar smirked as he stood beside the bed but she didn't even move to make it more interesting. From inside Haya was fuming with anger, all he cares about was his dinner? What a sick man. She cursed in her mind as she continued to pretend to be asleep inside the duvet.
"I thought I'll give this diary milk to you. It's okay. I'll eat it myself then." Abrar tried hard not to laugh as she moved under the duvet deciding whether or not to grab that chocolate from him. She was extremely cute sometimes.
"Oops, it slipped from my hands." he feigned innocence whilst dropping the chocolate just beside her, which she grabbed almost instantly with just her hands, which came out and went back in as soon as she got the chocolate. He bursts out laughing at her antics.
"You're crazy." he dropped yet another chocolate, which was also grabbed by her. He was wheezing at this point.
"I'm sorry, Haya. The election is so near and it is very important to me, you know right." Abrar sighed as he dropped another chocolate which was also grabbed by her. She refused to show him her face, by this time she had a box of chocolates under that duvet but she was still mad.
"We can go for the drive right now if you want." he trailed of sceptically which almost got her as she threw the duvet away from her face instantly and smiled excitedly at him, "REALLY?"
"Well, if you're so excited. Then sure. We can go." Why didn't he try this earlier? Haya threw herself at him in happiness as she hugged him tightly, who hugged her back with a grin.
"Thank you for the chocolates, you're the best." a wide smile adorned her face as she broke the hug and stared at him, who was staring back at her hazel eyes which twinkled in happiness.
"Anything for seeing this beautiful smile." he smiled flirtatiously making her blush hard.
"And you look extra beautiful tonight." Haya flushed red as he gave her a mischievous wink whilst checking her out shamelessly. Lately, Abrar has been openly flirting with her. He no longer shies away from complimenting her or saying anything to her like he used to be at the start of their marriage. And Haya was loving the new changes in him.
"Let's not get this beauty wasted. Take me to the long drive." Haya demanded excitedly, Abrar nodded with a smile.
"I have much better plans though." he trailed off with a teasing smile but Haya punched him in the stomach as she dragged him out of their room, "let's go!"
"Okay, fine. Don't pull me, I'm coming."
"Faster! I want to go on your motorbike." Haya dragged him down excitedly, who followed her behind with an amused smile. His wife was so cute.
Both of them had no idea of what is waiting for them. If only they knew.

"THIS IS SO COOL!" Haya screamed on top of her lungs as Abrar drove his bike at a high speed as per her demand. He was scared though; they were literally driving the bike in the middle of the night and no living being was visible as far as their eyes could go. And his wife was going nuts behind him.
"Hold onto me, tightly," he yelled whilst continuing to drive, she hugged him tighter if that was possible and shut her eyes close to feel the ride. Abrar was feeling things which he probably shouldn't be thinking while driving a bike, but having his wife hold onto him so tightly was making him go crazy, with her pressed against his back, leaving no space.... he's controlling everything in him to be sane.
The cool breeze was making them both shiver, as she held onto him. The strong smell of banana trees mixed with the woody scent was something different that Haya has never experienced before. She always wanted to go on a long drive and when she told the same to Abrar, he promised to take her on one. And that too not with any ordinary vehicle but with his favourite motorbike which made Haya all the more excited.
She has never seen him drive one and truth to be told, she didn't know that he had a motorbike, to begin with. So, you can feel how very excited she was when Abrar told her that he'd take her on a long drive in his motorbike.
And now that the moment was finally here, Haya was enjoying it to the fullest. She felt shivers passing down her spine as he drove to nowhere in particular. They were in the middle of their village's highway which would connect with the state highway if they drove any longer.
"Stop the bike..." Abrar abruptly halted the bike and turned around curiously, wondering what happened. She gives him a sheepish smile.
"I want to drive this too." She gives him a cute smile but he looked at her with a horrified expression., "NO WAY!" Abrar loves his bike. And there was no way that he's letting her touch it.
"Please." she fluttered her eyelashes making him cough.
"No. I am not letting you drive this." he was still very stubborn and sticking to his point.
"Well, think about it again," Haya smirked mischievously. He shook his head in disbelief, "you're a woman, how can you drive this?" he provoked her further which made her smile at him evilly.
"Get down the bike or... I'm going to... I'm going to tickle you!" Haya threatened him like it was the sanest thing to do. He bursts out laughing at her threat but she still had that serious expression plastered on her face.
"I'm serious, Abrar Shah. Get down or I'll tickle you. So hard!" she whispered huskily making him stop laughing. Was she really serious?
"I'm going to..." With a smirk, she brought her hands near his stomach and he stopped her instantly realizing the fact that she wasn't joking.
"Alright. I'll get down. If something happens to my baby." Haya cuts him off with a shrug, "don't worry about it. If anything happens to your baby." rolling her eyes she continued, "I'll get you a new one."
Abrar started at her in disbelief as she started the bike so damn casually like she was an expert in that, "hop on." she said with a proud smile on her.
He sat in the back seat still in disbelief as she roared the engine to life and began to drive his bike. She was so good that it was getting unbelievable for him.
"WOO-HOO!" Haya cheered excitedly as she accelerated the bike and increased the speed.
"Who says that women can't drive. How about this." Haya took a U-turn and continued to drive faster. She felt so cool right now, messing up with Abrar Shah is always her favourite job. Whether they're on good terms or not is the other thing.
"Haya you're driving it just good. I'm really impressed but slow down for goodness sake. We both will get into an accident or something." Abrar said with a concern filled voice, his hands held her waist as tight as he could; what if she fell down or something? was his worry.
She shivered at the realization of where his hands were, he's holding onto her waist tightly and that was making her go crazy. Were they this close before? She shouldn't be thinking about these things in the middle of a bike ride but Haya couldn't help it. Did he also felt the same way when she was holding onto him tightly?
She had no idea.
"Live a little, Abrar Shah. I've never had so much fun in my life. So, let me be." Haya managed to speak and he couldn't argue more after that. So, he simply hugged her from behind and enjoyed the ride. Haya felt the goosebumps all over again.
What are you doing to me, Abrar Shah? She sighed dreamily while continuing to drive.
"But be careful, you're responsible for both of us." he mumbled after realizing that talking with her was of no use tonight. Taking her mind off his hands, she concentrated on the driving, "I will. Don't worry."
Her loose hair was flying in the air due to the high speed which she was going in, it disturbed his face for a long time, with a groan he tied them a bun with slight frustration. An involuntary smile formed on her lips.
"Thanks," she mumbled audible enough for him to hear, whilst continuing to drive.
"You had enough fun for a day. Let me drive now. It's getting late." Abrar looked at the time and it was already quarter to twelve. Haya groaned from inside as she felt him take away one of his hands. She immediately missed their touch.
What is wrong with me?
"You're such a spoilsport." huffing dramatically, she halted the bike and both of them got down from that. Abrar felt so relieved that nothing much happened to his bike, it was his favourite. No kidding.
"You are a good rider." Haya grinned shyly as he took the keys from her.
"Thank you." Abrar was about to hop on the bike but a loud honk stopped him from doing so and the last thing he remembered seeing was Haya's panic-stricken face.
Somebody has hit his head so hard and then it was pitch black.
