Things were tough after Ron had come back from the hospital. He would act differently, he was so afraid and extremely quiet. Things Ron never was, or at least things he never showed to Haru. Haru would try his best to help his husband, but nothing seemed to do anything. And no matter how many times he'd ask what was wrong or how he could help, Ron would never give him an answer. Many would have given up, but Haru wouldn't give up on him. Never.

Haru walked to the front door, his normal light brown sweater in hand. He was going to the store to buy some groceries, and to make a quick stop at the pharmacy. It was a quick trip, and Haru thought it would give his husband a break from Haru's almost maternal behavior.

"I'm going to head out for a bit," Haru spoke as he began to put his shoes on, "I'll be back in an hour. If you need anything, call me, I'll come running back."

He stood up, put on his favorite sweater, and put his hand on the doorknob. Just when Haru was about to open the door, he heard quick footsteps behind him. As Haru began to turn around, he felt Ron grabbed his hand and laced their fingers together.

"Ron, are you okay?"

Ron was quiet, as he slowly laid his head on Haru's shoulder. Haru reached his other hand to slowly run it through his husband's snow-white hair. The two were silent until Ron spoke...

"Don't leave...please. I can fix things, so please...don't leave me..." Ron trailed off, muttering words that Haru couldn't understand. But all he could focus on was how scared Ron sounded. The tone broke Haru's heart.

"Ron?" Haru spoke as he turned around, and wrapped his arms around the man in front of him.

Rubbing small circles on his back, Haru spoke, his voice gentle and quiet only loud enough for the other to hear...

"I won't leave you, I promise.
