Chapter 13

Emily's POV

As I finished getting ready, I heard a knock at the door. I immediately jumped at the sound, my heart began to race. I quickly said bye to Y/N, then made my way to the door. I flattened my dress, and quickly opened the door.

"Hey!" Grayson greeted me.

"Hi!" I said, cheerfully.

"Ready to go?" He asked.

"Ready!" I giggled.

We made our way down to the lobby of our apartment complex, and called an Uber. The walk down wasn't too eventful. We talked about how Ethan almost broke his wrist carpet boarding, and how anti social Y/N always is.

"So which movie are we watching?" I asked, still oblivious to what we were watching.

"I was thinking 'Sing'." He smiled down at me.

He knew it was my dream to be a professional singer, but I didn't know he cared so much.

"Ah! I've been dying to see that movie!" I squealed.

"Me too." He giggled.

Our Uber, then pulled up, and we hopped in. The car ride was silent, until the driver piped up randomly, and whispered: "I ship it."

I acted as if I'd heard nothing, but I could see Grayson tensed a bit. His face seemed more serious now. Not a mad serious, more of a sweet serious. He had a small grin, just enough for the corner of his mouth to barely curl up. He was look out the window, the multicolored lights of Los Angeles illuminating his beautiful face.

It wasn't that long of a drive until we finally reached the mall in which the movie theater sat.

The day couldn't have been more perfect. The sun was shining, clouds placing a beautiful pattern of white. A slight breeze, gently blowing past, tickling my skin. The slightly warm temperature, peaking at around 75 degrees Fahrenheit, warmed my tan skin.

The sunshine seemed to make Grayson glow. His bright white shirt stinging my eyes, as the sun rays bounced off of it. His laughs getting carried on for miles with the wind. His skin brushing mine as we walked along the sidewalk next to each other.

I was happy, and not just a simple happiness, but a complex one that only comes every once and awhile. You could see the way I smiled was different. My smile spread from ear to ear, and my laugh was loud and had an echo, which happened to be the boy I liked laughing next to me.

I really hope he asked me out soon, because I'm looking at him in new ways. I knew I liked him, but all along I believed it was a small crush. Now, I'm believe I have completely fallen for the boy I'd met only this week.

I wonder if he felt the same.

As we neared the ticket booth, I began to buy my ticket before Grayson stepped in and paid for my own and his.

"Grayson! You have to let me buy snacks now!" I felt so guilty!

"Nope! I'm paying for everything, and you'll see why later." He cheekily smiled at me.

"Ugh Gray!" I felt butterflies coming alive once again.

"Go get seats, I'll buy snacks!" He giggled.

"Fine." I rolled my eyes, but giggled showing him I was joking.

I handed a man running a booth my ticket, then made my way down hall. The aroma of overly buttered popcorn and body oder filled my nostrils.

I finally reached my theater, and began looking for two seats next to each other. The room was packed, but after a few minutes of searching I found two perfect seats.

The seats were cramped between two families, but they were dead center and had an amazing view. I sat there alone, until my phone began to ring.

Gray !!!

I slid my finger across and answered.

"Hey! I'm in the middle of everything. Where are you?" I asked.

"I'm in here too.Wave your hand in the air." He quietly chuckled.

I stuck my hand in the air and began waving it randomly around.

"I see you." He laughed.

I jokingly rolled my eyes, even though I knew he couldn't see, and then hung up.

He made his way up to me, barely squeezing past the family to our right.

"Hey! So I got popcorn, a large soda to share if that's okay, and two boxes of candy." He said in his adorable Jersey accent.

"That's perfect!" I smiled.

The room then darkened more than it already was, and the movie began.

-

The entire movie was amazing! I knew most of the songs and mouthed along as the characters sang, Grayson and I's hands bumped into each other too many times to count as we ate the popcorn, and he told me that I was a better singer than anyone who sang in the movie.

I couldn't stop smiling, my face must've been crimson read by this point!

"Before we leave, I'm going to use the restroom." I said as we exited the theater.

"Sounds good, I'll meet you back here." He replied.

I nodded, and walked to the bathroom, quite quickly actually.

Once I'd finished, I walked back to where I was to meet Gray.

There he stood, but something was new. I'm his hand, he help a bouquet of daisies, and in the other he had a box of chocolates.

I walked up to him with a questioning look built on my face.

"What's this all about?" I giggled.

"Emily, will you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?" He asked, giggling.

"Um... Yes!" I giggled.

I hugged him, and he hugged my back, picking me up off the ground, spinning me around in the process. He gently set me down, and leant down, gently pressing his pink lips onto mine.

Sparks flew, I must say. The world seemed to stop, but continued in motion as we did. When we parted, a smile grew on my face, while a devilishly handsome smirk grew on his.

We walked hand in hand to the street as we water for the Uber we'd called. My yellow daisies bouncing the setting suns rays in every directions. My heart still seeming to be going a million beats a second, it hadn't slowed nor quickened from the moment he picked me up today.

Our Uber, pulled up and we hopped in. Still hand in hand, we road in a comfortable silence back to our apartment. Getting stuck in the usual LA traffic that bustled around this time of day, I watched the sunset beautifully behind the hills, as I held my perfect boyfriends hand.

Once we neared our apartment, the sun had almost completely gone, only leaving a few rays to light the darkened sky. We hopped out into the now chilled air, the breeze blowing my silky brown hair behind me.

As we entered our lobby and made our way up to our homes, we not once separated our hands. Although we hadn't spoken a word, our eyes said all that was needed when they made contact. His beautiful hazel eyes, staring into my bright blue ones. We had an entire conversation, with our eyes, telling the beautiful story that will be Grayson and Emily.

He walked me to my apartment, we said our goodbyes, kissed, and parted ways. Only then did I realize my heart slowed to sad speed. I longed to stay by his side as long as I could, but I now had to leave him.

I explained this all to Y/N now, and her reaction was better than I had expected.
