Chapter 1
Y/N's POV
I woke up to the familiar sound of police sirens running up the street. My window, left open letting a small breeze blow past my curtains. The sun rays shining through the curtains, illuminating my room with a yellow glow.
I stretched, and tore the warm duvet from my body, letting the warm air brush against my body. I put on some fuzzy socks, and head down the hall to the kitchen. The hall was filled with the aroma of pancakes.
I enter the kitchen, where I see Emily setting the table for breakfast.
"Good morning!" She exclaims.
I moan in reply.
"Someone's still not a morning person." She laughs.
"Never have, never will be." I laugh.
"Orange juice?" She asks.
"Orange juice." I reply.
"Maybe orange juice will be our always." She says in a serious tone.
We burst out laughing, and begin eating our freshly made pancakes. They were cooked to perfection. They were fluffy, sweet, and golden brown. We discussed our dreams, our plans for the day, and laughed at our old jokes.
"Oh, Y/N!" She exclaimed.
"Yes?" I chuckled.
"Remember we're getting neighbors today!" She said.
"Oh yeah!" I remembered.
"We should go say 'hi' later!" She said.
"Sure, why not." I giggled.
I picked up our dishes, rinsed them off, and placed them in the dishwasher. I looked at the clock on the oven, seeing it was only 10 I still had time to get ready.
"Want to head over at 12?" Emily asked. She seemed really excited to meet them for some reason.
"Sure." I rolled my eyes laughing.
I headed back to my room, and laid on my bed scrolling through my phone. Not many notifications, but enough to keep me busy for a few minutes.
After what felt like only half an hour, was actually an hour and a half. The sound of Emily knocking on my door shook me out of my daze.
"You ready?" She asked, peeking her head through the door.
"Oh shit! No!" I panicked.
"Calm down. We still have half an hour." She laughed at me.
"Okay." I sighed.
"Be ready soon though." She said leaving.
"Will do." I replied as she shut the door.
I sighed and got up, looking through my closet. I picked out a pair of black skinny jeans, a ripped white Rolling Stones shirt, and my blue Vans. I headed to the bathroom, and straightened my hair, then set out my makeup.
I put on simple makeup, nothing too fancy. It was only meeting the neighbors after all, for all I know they could be an elderly couple. I finished up, looking myself over in the mirror, and headed out to the living room where I saw Emily on her phone.
"Done." I giggled.
"Oh my God! You look so good!" She gasped.
"Really? I just threw on what I saw first." It wasn't a lie.
"Oh whatever." She laughed. "Let's go?" She asked.
"Let's!" I said trying to act as enthusiastic as she was. I wasn't that much of fan of meeting people, like she was.
We headed out our front door, and headed to the door across from ours. Emily knocked on the wooden door, and stood there with her infamous adorable grin. I stood off the the side, regretting doing this.
The silver door knob began to turn, and the door was pulled open. Two boys stood in front of us, both in muscle shirts.
"Hi. Can I help you?" One said.
They looked identical, and it was so hard to tell them apart.
"Hey, I'm Emily! We're your new neighbors across the hall." Emily pointed at our door. "We just wanted to welcome you!" She exclaimed.
"Oh, well thanks. I'm Grayson." Said the boy that opened the door. He was slightly taller than the other.
"And I'm Ethan." The other boy said, grinning at me.
"Oh- uh, hi, I'm Y/N." I shyly waved.
"Nice to meet you guys." Ethan said, still staring at me.
"Nice to meet you too!" Emily giggled.
"Well, we'll get out of your hair now. Come by anytime." I smiled at them.
"Thanks. See you around." Ethan said to me.
"Bye." Emily and Grayson said in unison.
We turned around and headed back across the hall, back to our apartment. Once inside Emily lost it.
"Oh my God! They're so hot! Did you see the way Ethan looked at you? Oh, I bet he likes you-" She exclaimed.
"Em, Em, calm down." I laughed at her. "Yes, they're hot, but they're justo our neighbors, and we just met them." I giggled.
"Okay, okay, whatever. But! We have to see them again!" She exclaimed.
"Okay, okay, we will. Now let's just go out and get some lunch." I laughed.
"Okay." She replied.
I grabbed my purse and phone, and we were out, walking the crowded streets of Los Angeles.
