I'm waiting for Justin's answer. -"Li-Lina. Something terrible happened"- I can tell he's downhearted, nervous, and low-spirited. It must be a tragedy since he doesn't get sad easily. -"Jordan had a car accident"- I hear my phone hit the ground. I can't believe what he said! Jordan is an excellent driver.

I slowly pick up my device. -"Li-Lina, Lina are you still there?"

"I am"

"Jordan has a traumatic brain injury"

"A, what?'- I shout.

"Traumatic brain in-injury"- as soon as he finishes the sentence, I hear him snivel. This is actually real.

"How is he?"- I say in a weak voice.

"He...he's unconscious"

I feel tears forming in my eyes.

"I'll meet you at the hospital, send me the address"

"Sure"- I hear him snivel again. -"See you there"- I feel a tear falling down my cheek.

"See...see you there"- I hang up.

Another tear falls down, and before I realize it, I'm crying, wailing, moaning.

The man of my life is laying in a bed motionless, I feel horrible.

"36.80 dollars"

"Thank you"- I give him 37 dollars and quickly get out of the Uber, I want to see my beloved.

I see Justin, Jordan's parents, Jordan's brothers, five close friends of his, and his cousin Lucas with his wife Amelia. -"Lina!"- says Sarah who's also a close friend of mine.

"Sarah"- we hug tightly and cry intensely.

"Lucas and Amelia are with Jordan, you can visit him after them"- says Justin. After several minutes, I turn around and hug him.

"Thanks, Justin"- I whisper. He hugs me tighter for a few seconds, I wonder how many hugs will I get today.

"Who's next"- asks Lucas, trying to hold back his tears.

I feel my heart beating very fast and my whole body shaking. I'm not ready to see him...

"You want me to go with you?"- says Sarah in a low voice.

"No, no thanks"- I reply trying to control myself. I have to face this on my own.

"Good night madam"

"Good night"- I murmur at the doctor.

Jordan looks like he's sleeping peacefully.

I carefully get into the bed and put my right hand on his chest, just like I would do in a normal situation.

"Jordan"- I whisper, knowing that he can't hear me, knowing that he won't respond, knowing that he won't hug me with his strong arms!

A tear falls from my left eye, I miss him terribly.

I hear a sudden creaking sound. -"Please exit the room, Madam, the ambulances just arrived to take him to the emergency room"- tears roll down as I leave the room and watch the medical staff carry his body, this is a living nightmare!

Although Sarah, Lucas, and Amelia left, seven more people arrived to visit Jordan. -"How was the car accident?"- asked one of Jordan's co-workers.

"A pickup truck surpassed the speed limit"- answered Justin. -"It wasn't his fault at all!"- I knew it! My Jordan would never exceed a speed limit.

"Li-Lina"- I turn around to see my mother-in-law, with red eyes and quivering lips.

"Mrs. Brown!"- I give her a strong hug, it's heartbreaking seeing everyone cry, especially Jordan's father, who I've never seen cry before.

After many hugs and tears, I request an Uber to go home, I wonder if I can get some sleep after all this.

"Lina"

"Yes, Justin?"

"This is for you"- he gives me red roses and a note.

I really hate it when we fight. Even though the reasons for the fight were not so big, it turned very ugly. Both of us could not ignore the anger we had within us. But I have come to realize that it was my fault to behave that way and I should have behaved maturely.
You're the second-best decision I've made in my life. With you, I'm a happy man, and I know it's not momentary happiness because it's based on Jesus. He deserves all the glory and he takes the first place in our relationship.

"I forgive you Jordan. Please forgive me, I was the one that behaved more immaturely!"- she says in a cracking voice. I move towards her and put my hand on her shoulder.

"This short letter and these flowers were found inside Jordan's car. I guess he planned to give them to you as soon as he saw you"- she looks at me with watery eyes and then gives me a hug.

It hurts me to see so much pain and sadness, and it hurts even more to see my friend and colleague in this condition.

Despite all this, I don't feel hopeless, because I know Jordan hasn't finished God's plan for his life, I know our Heavenly Father will help him get through this!

"There's still hope Lina"

"You're right"- she replies with a smile. -"Miracles happen"

"Nothing is impossible for our Father in heaven"- I say as I pick up the flowers she accidentally dropped.

"Thanks, Justin"- I make sure she takes all her things and, then we go outside.

"Did you bring your car?"

"No, I'm waiting for an Uber"

"You want me to wait with you?"

"Yes"- I check the time and see it's 1 a.m. I'll probably sleep between 3 and 4 hours because I have to work early today. -"What time is it?"

"1 o'clock in the morning"- I hear a sudden stomach growling, she must be hungry, so I search for food in my messenger bag, but I only have a half-eaten cookie.

"It's alright, I'll eat as soon as I get home"- we started to giggle, and organized my things. I wonder why there's never food in my bag when I want to share it!

"That's the Uber"- she shouts.

"Bye Lina, see you around"

"See you around"- she replies and fastly gets on the Uber.

I get in my car and put on my Christian Playlist, it always gives me peace and joy whenever I listen to it.
