"good morning," ms min greeted as the two boys walked into the sitting room. her voice startled them as they were not expecting her to be home until later that evening.
"mom, what are you doing here?" yoongi asked incredulously and his mother threw him a glare.
"i could say the same to you two. you're supposed to be at school, not cuddling. don't think i didn't see you two. why are you home so early? you didn't even go to your first lesson! jimin, does your mother know you're here?" she questioned angrily and jimin nodded slowly, explaining he had phoned her when they got to the house. his mom had understood completely and sent her sympathy.
"i wasn't feeling well so-" yoongi tried to lie but ms min interrupted him.
"bullshit yoongi, i can see the bruise. did they attack you again? why won't you let me talk to the school? they could do something! get them expelled," she exclaimed and yoongi focused on his lap. jimin moved closer to him to comfort the blond.
"it's okay eomma min, they won't come at him for a while. i landed a few punches so they'll be scared for a bit." the younger said confidently and ms min laughed.
"i don't know whether to be upset at the fact that you punched a few boys or happy that you protected my son."
"be happy. you did that for me jimin-ah?" yoongi asked softly making the brunet blush and nod.
"they were beating you up so it was only fair for me to return the favour since you weren't able to do so at that moment. it isn't that big a deal i mean-" he was interrupted by yoongi launching on him and hugging him. he returned the hug and they stayed like that until they were interrupted by yoongi's mother clearing her throat loudly, making them pull apart
"okay, i'll leave you lovebirds and make dinner. please join us jimin, as a thank you." ms min invited and jimin politely declined, saying his mother probably wanted him home.
"nonsense. you call her up and tell her you're staying for dinner because i need to at least repay you for rescuing my son. and if she says no then tell her she is invited too!" ms min exclaimed and walked into the kitchen, before jimin could protest.
"you beat them up? how the hell did you do that?" yoongi questioned after his mother had left and the brunet hit his chest lightly and glared.
"don't be rude! i took a couple self defense classes. my mom signed me up for them when i came out, she figured that i would need protection. never thought i'd be the one doing the protecting." jimin shrugged and was attacked by a hug once more.
"i don't know how i'll ever repay you-"
"don't be ridiculous. you're my best friend, i'm supposed to protect you. i don't like seeing you upset, or bruised. i'll always be here for you yoo-yoo hyung," the brunet interrupted and rubbed the older's back comfortingly.
"yeah, best friend. hey um, speaking of not seeing me upset, we need to work on that piece for my music class. i've finished the sheet music for your cello part so you can practice it. and you better practice it or i'll be very upset." yoongi spoke into his shoulder and he could feel jimin's laugh reverberate through his body.
"well, my cello is in the music room so you'll be there every time i practice. not that you ever pay attention to me when we are in close proximity to that piano." jimin teased and caused the elder to laugh.
"are you seriously jealous of a piano?"
jimin turned scarlet. he was not expecting for the blond to hit the nail on the head with his answer. he tried to deny it, feigning that he was just not used to having friends so now that he had one, he was quite possessive. but yoongi saw through it. he always knew when the brunet was lying and now was no exception. but yoongi also knew that it would only make him more uncomfortable if he carried on teasing.
"alright jimin-ah," he assured and nuzzled back into the younger's neck.
jimin knew he was lying too, but he didn't really care. as long as he was able to hold him close, that would be enough.
