hey guys! alekhya here. some of you from my previous stories might know me as "lexi", my pseudonym. call me whatever.
before i begin, i need you guys to realize why this story is so important to me, and why it's so different from the rest. in 99% of the stories i've read on wattpad, there's always a bitch who takes away the guy. just harmless fiction, right?
wrong. this toxic downplay of every. story. ever (not going to lie, my previous ones included) makes it look like IT'S OKAY to blame the girl for everything. people preach feminism but are so ready to bitch about someone else when it comes down to it. i realized that i'd started painting these images of girls in my grade as bad, slutty and bitchy without really knowing them, because that's how the media portrays anyone with either an ounce of popularity or confidence.
this isn't a typical novel, although it will have some cliché bits -okay, a lot of them smh but it's me okay? it talks about how the girl empowers the bitch. how the bitch empowers the girl. how it's NOT THE PERSON IN THE MIDDLE'S fault.
welcome to my unconventional story, "Don't Blame the Mistress".
i realized that me- being on wattpad- can use this platform to express these opinions. i'm tired of seeing the regular stories and stereotypes. i'm tired of the boring and insecure good girl. i want a little reality in here. more positivity.
i'm not just here to tell a story. i'm here to spread a message.
i hope you enjoy it and start looking at everything around you differently, and not just through the tinted-glasses that all the wattpad teen-fiction so graciously provides you with. that the player who breaks hearts is actually just a dick even though everyone seems to love a guy who claims to be a "f*ckboy" when they're reading about him, for some reason. that the "popular, fake girl" might actually just be nice.
take everything you read with a pinch of salt. have a great day (:
