Chapter 4
Ash has defeated Calem's Tyrantrum and Lucario with relative ease. We now rejoin the battle as Calem is about to send out his third Pokemon.
No one's POV
Calem: Return Lucario...
Ash: Great Job Snorlax, Thanks! Now return!
Snorlax: Snoooor!
Referee: Please send out your next Pokemon!
Calem: I've had enough of your bullsh*t Ketchum! Dragonite, win me this one!
Dargonite: BWAAAAAAARH!
Ash: Alright, Charizard, I choose you!
Charizard: RAAAAAAAAH!
To the stands
Serena: Well, I guess Ash is in trouble now right?
Gary: Actually Serena, I'm already feeling sorry for Dragonite. As far as I know, Charizard is Ash's strongest Pokemon. I fact, his Charizard is the reason why I became a Pokemon Researcher.
Serena: Huh? What do you mean?
Gary: Don't worry, I'll tell you some other time. The match is about to resume anyway.
They turn their attention back to the battlefield.
Back to the Battlefield
Calem: Alright Dragonite, lets start this off with Dragon Pulse!
Dragon fires a beam of purple at Charizard. It kicks up a small cloud of dust, but, as the dust settles, Charizard is revealed to be just fine.
Ash: That's the way to do it Charizard. Now, use Sacred Fire!
At this point, nobody even bothered to question. Ash had taught his Pokemon moves that only Legendaries knew. That doesn't mean that everybody's mouths were hanging wide open.
Charizard engulfed itself in bright blue and orange flames and shot them towards Dragonite. It looked like a combination of Will-O-Wisp and Draco Meteor. Once the attack made contact, Dragonite landed on the ground with a resounding thud. Ash thought it was over but he was surpised to see that Dragonite was still standing.
Ash: Calem, that is a strong Dragonite you have there. You have trained it quite well!
Calem: Shut up! I don't need you telling we what I'm doing right or wrong! Dragonite, use Thunder!!
Dragonite sent multiple bolts of thunder towards the sky which accumulated and sent down a massive bolt of Thunder back towards the ground.
Everybody including Ash and Charizard, was suprised by the power of Thunder. Ash starting panicking a little until something pinged in his head.
Ash: Charizard, use Dragon Tail to stick your tail into the ground.
Charizard followed Ash's order and dug its tail deep into the ground. Just seconds before Thunder struck Charizard, Ash gave Charizard another command.
Ash: Charizard, Mega Evolve!
Ash and Charizard were surrounded by Mega Evolution energy just as Thunder hit Charizard. It all happened so quick that almost no one noticed it. ALMOST no one. Gary was watching Ash's every move from his seat and noticed the Mega Evolution.
Once Thunder hit Charizard, a deafening roar could be heard coming from Ash's side of the field. That was a massive cloud of dust and smoke where Charizard once stood. Calem was feeling smug as he thought he had taken Ash's Charizard down.
To the stands
Drew: Well, Ash had to lose a battle eventually. There's no shame in losing. Charizard fought well.
Gary: I wouldn't count Ash and Charizard out just yet.
Kenny: ARE YOU SERIOUS!? Did you see how powerful that Thunder was? Charizard is weak against that!!
Gary: I can't explain anything to you just now. Wait till the dust settles.
Back to the Battlefield
As the huge cloud of dust started settling, Calem was still smirking as he was confident that Charizard was down and out.
Calem: There's no point in waiting Ketchup! Your Charizard is out! There's no way it can survive that Thunder.
Ash: Its Ketchum! And well... you don't know how wrong you are Calem!
Just as Ash said that, a hint of blue could be seen though the dust. As the dust got thinner, Calem's smirk got completely wiped off his face as a Mega Charizard X stood right in front of him. It didn't even have a scratch on it! Its tail was still dug into the ground.
Calem: Wha... How did i...
Calem was cut off by Ash.
Ash: Now Charizard, use V-Create!
As Ash said that, Charizard roared and the blue flames from its mouth got larger and hotter until it created a V shape. Charizard then released it and the giant V-shaped inferno hit Dragonite instantly. Dragonite was thrown back, past Calem as it smashed into the wall surrounding the battlefield. Everybody in the stadium knew Dragonite was out of the battle.
Referee: Dragonite is unable to battle. Charizard wins. Calem, please send out your next pokemon.
Back to the Stands
All of Ash's friends couldn't even move anymore. Ash has been completely annihilating Calem in this match so far. Clemont finally spoke up.
Clemont: Using Dragon Tail to ground Charizard was a stroke of genius. That way, Thunder just passed straight though Charizard and into the ground completely minimise any of its effects.
Gary: That is classic Ash. Always coming up with ideas no one ever thinks of. He then used the time he had to Mega Evolve his Charizard. Mega Charizard X loses its Flying typing and gains Dragon typing. He further minimised the effects of thunder y doing that. Ash isn't holding back in this battle. I know Calem has some strong Pokemon but I can't help but fear for them.
Everybody in the group nods while Serena is staring to the battlefield. She was staring especially at Ash and Charizard.
Serena watched on as Charizard reverted back to its normal form. She heard Ash say "Great job Charizard! You were amazing out there!" with the widest grin on his face. To her surprise, Charizard smiled back at his trainer and they fist-bumped! She couldn't help but smile back at the scene. She wanted Calem to do well, for obvious reasons, but, for some reason, she didn't want Ash to lose. Serena was impressed by how strong Ash and his Pokemon were. They all seemed to love and respect Ash and she could see that Ash cared for them. She had seen Calem with his Pokemon and Calem always followed a harsh training routine with his Pokemon and didn't always treat them nicely. He would always force them to fight each other to the absolute limit... which Serena found cruel. Serena had tried to voice her concern before but Calem would always shut her down as he said that it was the only way to make Pokemon stronger.
Ash seemed different to Serena. His Pokemon looked happy and healthy. They always looked like they were willing to do anything for Ash. She could sense their loyalty towards him. His Pokemon loved him with the bottom of their heart. Serena doesn't even know Ash but she already liked his calm, cool and collected personality. She had taken quite a liking to Ash's unpredictable battling style too! She had only watched three of Ash's battles but she could already feel the excitement around her. Ash's battling seemed to have hyped everybody up. Serena looked around the battlefield to see everybody as surprised as her, if not, more! Some where pointing towards Ash and talking while others had their phones out and were recording the battle. The rest the sat there, completely astonished by the battle. Of course, there were Calem's fangirls who were visibly upset because of the fact that Calem was losing so badly. Serena didn't feel that way though. She was content... almost happy that Ash was winning.
She didn't know why she was happy. Maybe it was because of the fact that the better trainer was winning. Serena wasn't liking the way Calem was treating Ash earlier. She thought it was too harsh of him. Serena was worried before the battle. She thought that Calem would eother be too ruthless to Ash or Ash would seek revenge and do something to Calem and his Pokemon, however, those thoughts were completely wiped off her mind as soon as she looked at Ash. She could see confidence, excitement and a burning passion for battling in his eyes... but she couldn't see revenge. Ash was just doing his very best in this battle, after all, it would be rude and quite an insult to your opponent if you go easy on them, wouldn't it?
As Serena was thinking this, she hadn't realised, but she had involuntarily and unconsciously switched sides. She had moved from supporting Calem to supporting Ash in this battle.
Soon, there was a slight smile and a little blush on Serena's face as she looked towards Ash. This didn't go unnoticed by the four girls in the group, Misty, May, Dawn and Iris. They all had very similar reactions when they first saw Ash battling. With smirks on their faces, they knew exactly what Serena was thinking and knew exactly where this would lead Serena. However, they couldn't help but feel sorry for Serena as they all had experienced pain trying (and failing... or so they though) to break Ash Ketchum out of that dense shell of his.
Back to the Battlefield
Calem: Return Dragonite... *staring at Dragonite's Pokeball* honestly, I'm disappointed in you! What as useless Pokemon.
Ash felt a tinge of pain as Calem said that. He knew Dragonite tried its very best for Calem and that's all you can ask from your Pokemon. Ash had managed to stop himself from raging at Calem. He controlled his emotions again as he waited for Calem to release his next Pokemon.
Calem: I never wanted to use my next three Pokemon on anyone Ketchum... but now, you will pay for what you did to my first three Pokemon.
To the Stands
Calem's voice sounded cold and venomous. It surprised everyone in the crowd. Especially Serena. She had never seen Calem this way before. She looked at Calem and all she could see was hatred and a thirst for vengeance. She was scared. Calem didn't look like himself. He was completely controlled by his emotions now. Serena then looked at Ash and was surprised to still she the calm and composed look on his face. Serena really started admiring Ash. Even in the heat of battle, he could take complete control of his emotions. Serena started watching Ash in awe as the match resumed.
To the Battlefield
Calem: Lets go Darkrai!
Ash: So, you have a Mythical I see!
Calem: Yeah, I do. So... you scared yet?
Calem smirked at Ash. Ash hated that smirk and wanted to wipe it off of his face. Ash knew exactly what to do. His next Pokemon had defeated a Darkrai before, it could defeat Darkrai again! Ash did his very best to hide his emotions, however, he was absolutely furious at Calem. Not only had he made his first day at this school a living hell, he had also had a negative impact on Serena but changing her. She wasn't acting like the Serena he met in Summer camp... or so Ash thought. Adding salt to that wound, Calem's treatment towards his Pokemon reminded him of Paul. Ash was about to make sure that Calem sees that treating Pokemon with love and care is the only way to make them stronger.
Ash: Sceptile, lets do this!
As Sceptile came out of his Pokeball, he looked back at Ash. Sceptile could feel what Ash was feeling as the bond between Ash and his Pokemon was very strong. Ash didn't need to orally say it but Sceptile knew Ash wanted this to be a swift victory and Sceptile would do anything to provide this victory to Ash as quick as possible.
Referee: Alright, battle begin!
Calem: Darkrai, Shadow Ball!
As the ball of Dark energy sped towards Sceptile, Ash gave quick commands.
Ash: Sceptile, dodge it then use Quick Attack into Leaf Blade!
As Ash said that, Sceptile quickly leapt out of Shadow Ball's path and used quick attack to speed towards Darkrai. Sceptile used all the power he at in his legs to get to Darkrai as fast as possible. Sceptile then extended the leaves on his forearms into long sharp glowing blades of green. He then swung his right blade at Darkrai and struck it with full power. He used the momentum to spin and carry his left blade towards Darkrai's body and hit it with another full power leaf blade. Sceptile did a full 360 and landed right in front of Calem. Sceptile stood up and glared at Calem who was now in Sceptile's shadow. He was a lot taller than Calem. Darkrai dropped to the ground and Sceptile kept glaring at Calem which sent chills down Calem's spine. His Mythical Pokemon was knocked out with just one move. Calem was left speechless as a cold sweat dropped down the side of his face.
To the Stands
The group of friends were in absolute awe this time. All they could see was Sceptile travel from one side of the field to the other in the blink of an eye. The only indication that there was contact between Sceptile and Darkrai was because of the fact that there was a spark of green light when Sceptile approached Darkrai and the fact that Drakrai dropped to the ground moments later... unable to battle. Yet again, there was an eerie silence within the group, but Dawn soon broke it.
Dawn: Ash did the same thing with Sceptile in the Sinnoh League. I knew Sceptile could win this, but I did't know that it would only take seconds...
The group then look up to Dawn, surprised by the fact that this is the second Darkrai Ash's Sceptile has defeated. At this point, even Gary didn't know what to expect. Three years ago, Ash just a normal trainer, and now, he comes back with the very same Pokemon he left with... The only difference being the amount of power his Pokemon now posses.
Serena was left completely speechless... again. She had never seen Calem's Darkrai being defeated. The fact that it only required one move and a couple of seconds completely blew Serena's mind. She then looked at Sceptile, who was still glaring at Calem. The scared look on Calem's face made her giggle a little. Obviously, the whole group noticed this.
Misty: What's wrong Serena? Why are you laughing? I was expecting you to be quite upset, seeing as Calem is losing.
Serena: Oh... it's nothing.
Serena then smiled at Misty. The whole group noticed this and were surprised by her actions. In almost every battle, Serena would be worried sick about Calem. It didn't matter how well Calem was doing, Serena would always worry. Seeing Serena laughing and smiling while Calem was losing confused everybody in the group. They all gave her a weird look but Serena spoke up cheerfully again.
Serena: Come on, they are sending out their next Pokemon now. We don't want to miss this.
The boys shared unsure looks with each other while the girls had a knowing look on their faces.
Back to the Battlefield
Referee: D-Darkrai is unable to battle. Sceptile wins. Calem, please send out your next Pokemon.
At this point, anyone would have lost hope, but not Calem. He had saved his two strongest Pokemon for the end. Although he was surprised by how quickly his Darkrai was defeated, he couldn't help but smile at the next Pokemon he was about to release.
'Ash Ketchum, this is where it all turns around. My next two pokemon will completely ruin your team!' Calem thought. Little did he know that Ash had also saved his two strongest Pokemon for the end. Ash, however, decided that he wouldn't switch out Sceptile for his next battle as Sceptile didn't really get to battle properly against Darkrai. Sceptile couldn't even reveal his full potential.
Calem: Alright Ketchum, take this. Yveltal, help me destroy him!
The whole stadium gasped as the Y-shaped Pokemon materialised in the battlefield. Ash, however, was still confident that Sceptile could take Yveltal down.
Ash: Sceptile, lets do this together. You up for another battle?
Sceptile: *nods in agreement* Tileee!
Referee: Alright Yveltal vs Sceptile. Battle begin!
End of Chapter 4.
Serena has started taking a liking towards Ash and Ash has been defeating all of Calem's Pokemon one-by-one. But will the battle between Yveltal and Sceptile change anything? What will be Calem's Final Pokemon... and what else does Ash have up his sleeve? Find out in the next Chapter. I will try to release it later today!
Next chapter should be the final chapter for the battle between Ash and Calem. I hope you guys are enjoying this book so far!
Anyway, Thanks for reading!
