Author's Note
This poem was a pain to choose a title for. I looked up a whole bunch of Latin and French variations of "eternal," "eternity," and "circles," as well as a few English titles such as "Don't Fall Off," "Climb Back On," "The Bracelet," "Bended Line," "Twisted Line," "Bended Dreams," "Twisted Dreams," and "Circles." When the poem was finished, I had decided on "Climb Back On," but changed it to "Don't Fall Off" shortly after. I wanted the title to not be directly stated in the poem, and I wanted the last stanza to be more positive. So, I switched the title and the last line ("don't fall off" used to be part of the final stanza).
Other than titles, this poem translated from my mind very awkwardly. I started writing this out at my second Girls' Camp of 2018 (I wrote One during my first), originally using the rhyming scheme ABCCB to show repetition and to set the tone as an inability to escape. I'm entirely sure why I changed it at the last minute - it was probably a mixture of simplicity, reflection, and familiarity.
As stated in the summary, this poem was a branch off of Stuck, Hand on a Window, One, and Escape. Keeping this in mind, maybe you can guess the purpose of the many symbolisms used. ;)
