The fight
Once everyone had gotten comfortable, well not really comfortable, just a safe distance away from what would become a warzone, the fight begin.
All of Team Emperor had no idea what the two were fighting about, but they would always have Y/n's back. The gist of it, seemed as though they were kidnapped and knocked out by some purple octoling with purple eyes, and her squad of goons, then rescued by Y/n, and now the two were duking it out with magical harry potter powers you'd see in a movie, all in the real world.
Maeve and Y/n were staring each other down, and Maeve was the first to make a move. She lunged at Y/n with speed incomparable to lightning. Y/n however, was fast too and dodged in the nick of time.
"I see you've been practicing with your powers huh?" Y/n asked, eyes glittering. Maeve nodded smugly.
"All that time you've been in isolation, trying to keep your powers down, I've been HERE, practicing for the moment I'd kill you," Maeve responded confidently.
Y/n chuckled. "I've always been better then you. Why's now an exception?"
She saw Maeve's facial features twist. She definitely got Maeve mad now. That meant there was no holding back. Y/n hadn't used her powers in ages, ever since her parents had been annihilated a long time ago. Y/n wasn't exactly sure how old she was, she stopped being conscious for years on end, and it wasn't until she had met Team Emperor that her thoughts and consciousness had returned to her.
In rapid succession, Maeve launched balls of fire towards Y/n, wish she blocked with walls of water. How these were summoned? Y/n figured she'd explain this to Team Emperor in due time.
With every blow Maeve failed to land, she seemed to grow angrier. Y/n ducked behind a column of water to avoid collision with a scalding hot plasma ball that whizzed past her, scarring her shoulder.
"Damnit," Y/n hissed. That wound felt miserable. After all, it was pure plasma anyway. Dragging her limp shoulder, Y/n hauled herself out of Maeve's sight.
Maeve shrieked in delight. "Playing hide and seek now are we?" Excitedly, she started hurling more fire balls faster and faster, around the arena, to find out where Y/n had been hiding. All of a sudden, Maeve fell off her misted-cloud platform.
Y/n looked incredulously and realized Emperor had pushed her. When the hell did he get up there? Actually, a better question is HOW did he get up there in the first place? Maeve shrieked as she fell. Landing on her knee, she got back up quickly, looking up in rage. "YOU! How dare you intrude in our fight."
With a snap, the mist-cloud disappeared beneath Emperor's feet. Anyone would have been incredibly panicked, but Emperor looked as calm as ever, landing on his feet. Where a normal person would have heard a CRACK in their bones and passed out, Emperor seemed to just glide down.
Y/n let out a breath of relief, not questioning how he wasn't dead. After all, it was Emperor anyway. One of the top battlers in Inkopolis Square. It was understandable, she tried to convince herself. Focusing back on the battle, she met face to face with Maeve.
Maeve sneered at Y/n, but Y/n payed her no heed and smacked her in the face with a strong SLAP. Maeve looked shocked for a second. Perhaps she was expecting there to be some form of element embedded into it, but at the end of the day, Maeve just got slapped.
Eging burst out laughing when he saw Maeve launched halfway across the arena. Prince averted his eyes, as to not see the blood when she landed. SPLAT. Only, what Y/n hoped to see wasn't there. It looked like a shell lying there, Maeve's entire body split open, looking like it gave birth to ANOTHER full-grown Maeve.
Y/n shook her head incredulously, for the second time that hour. Maeve learned to clone herself? Since when?
Y/n heard a low giggle over her shoulder, and felt herself flying forward. Y/n closed her eyes, bracing for impact, yet it never came. She slowly opened her eyes, and looked up at a frowning Emperor. "Emperor...?"
"You didn't retaliate," he said casually, bringing her back to her feet. "Go," he instructed, motioning towards a seething Maeve.
Y/n decided the battle was getting too long, it was just her and Maeve taking turns dodging and dealing blows. Y/n sunk to the bottom of her bottomless pit of power, drawing out what she had left. In her left hand, grew a huge ball of lightning, metal, and parts.
She turned to face Maeve and was shocked at what she saw. Emperor had put her in headlock and she was thrashing and screaming, hurling fireball after fireball at him. He was taking the damage and was bleeding heavily.
It made Y/n's heart hurt. He nodded at her, and she felt her eyes water. She and him were on the same page. Nodding to Emperor, she mustered up all her courage, knowing full well what could happen if this went wrong, and slung it at Maeve.
A huge splatter of blood hit Emperor, turning his golden shine into more of a bloody mess. It was truly a sight to behold. Y/n looked over at the 3 Team Emperor members still seated. They were at the edges of their seats with pursed lips, wondering what was going to happen. After all, what they saw was Emperor about to be hit with a huge ball of lightning.
A flashing white light dazzled everyone's eyes, as everyone saw scene after scene play out from Maeve's head. These were... Maeve's memories? Y/n looked away. She didn't want to see any joy that Maeve had seen. After all, Maeve's happiness was Y/n's sadness.
After the blinding light died away, Y/n rushed over to Emperor who was slumped under Maeve's body. "She's really heavy..." Emperor grumbled, forcing his eyes to open.
"Shhh, and don't say that. If she hears you you're dead," Y/n consoled, trying to lift him up from Maeve's body. She then proceeded to check if Maeve was breathing or not. Thankfully or not thankfully depending on how you see it, she was.
It appeared as though the 3 Team Emperor members finally had it in them to walk over when Y/n heard a voice. "So... what do we do with her?" she looked up at N-Pacer who was motioning at Maeve's body.
"I mean, we could bring her in, as long as she doesn't do the whole 'knock us out with a drug' thing," Eging said, shooting an inquiring look at Emperor. Emperor sighed at nodded.
"Well we can't leave her here, or she'll come looking for us the moment she regains consciousness," he decided.
"I'll carry her?" Eging offered, to which Emperor shook his head. "If anything, Y/n should be the one to bring Maeve or whatever her name is over. After all, she's got a LOT of explaining to do."
Y/n huffed. She knew he was right, and there was definitely no way she could erase all their memories in time. Not that she wanted to of course. She had been longing to get this off her chest, after all, all the years she was alive she told nobody. And she definitely wasn't going to confide in Maeve.
Prince whispered, wide eyed. "I think she moved."
N-Pacer clapped her hands, "We'd better get moving then. Y/n, you're on Maeve-lifting duty."
Y/n rolled her eyes but complied. Using her magic to drag Maeve. As they headed back to the Team's house, nobody spoke. It wasn't that they didn't want to break the silence, it was just that they didn't know how to.
