A/N: Civil discussions only, people!

Alright, first of all, every story that is created on Wattpad deserved to be loved and fanned over, am I right? But, I think we can all agree, that some are better than others. But are the gems out there getting the attention they deserve? The answer is no. There are countless undiscovered stories out there that are a million times better quality than some of the books getting more attention. I've read books in the high thousands of reads and millions of reads that, not that they don't deserve their ratings, but do come in second to some other books with wayyyy less attention. Factors such as error in word choice to simple grammatical mistakes can be found in popular books and not even remotely present in some undiscovered novels, which is completely unfair. 

The way Wattpad rates stories is which ones have the most activity. That's why it can be hard for some stories to climb and surpass other ones, because the ones that are lucky enough to hit a lot of activity at once just keep getting more of it. 

Now, I know that Wattpad tries its best, but sometimes the stories that I'm shown on my home screen are just not that good, but have sky-high votes, comments and reads. That's because only a few books are lucky enough to get the attention of Wattpad, for them to say hey, this has a lot of views, and plaster it across all kinds of people's profiles. However, I also could be totally off in saying that, but I think we can all agree that the pattern of books with high ratings on our home screens are common. And if you take a look at a couple, you might be shocked at the quality of them, whether that be good or bad. 

Don't get me wrong, there are also just as many stories that have ratings that they truly deserve. There are lots of books out there in Wattpad that are extremely well done and do make it, becoming famous with real talent behind them. I just don't think that all the books that are truly great get what they deserve, and some that aren't as enticing somehow still have super high ratings. 

Now, don't even get me started on how Wattpad contests are won. Stories are usually voted on, and then the ones with the most votes are read from a Wattpad staff member. Take the #/OnceUponNow contest for example. Stories are voting on during a specific time frame, and then the Top 25 are read, and the Top 10 win. Sounds good, right. NO. The stories that are already popular are going to get the most votes because of their ratings, although some stories farther down the line are much better. Then, the ones that'll win the contest have already won over the entire Wattpad community, and the other ones didn't even have a chance to get their big break.
