Ever since Accalia can remember, she had lived in the absolutely boring town of Beacon Hills. She had an absolutely normal family consisting of her mother, father, and brother up until their family wasn't a family anymore. Her mom completely disappeared without a trace, which left the O'Connells in ruins. After about a year after the woman's disappearance, Henry married again, leaving his children thinking the man had been cheating on their mother.

The only two that really got Ace through besides her brother Tyler was Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski, her best friends since like, forever. They helped as much as any teens could help and it worked, sort of. It made Accalia bury her feelings deeper and deeper, waiting to come up to the surface.

Then out of nowhere, Henry informs his daughter he is sending her to a counseling camp. One suggested by Evelyn herself, which only made going more annoying to the young O'Connell girl. What she didn't know was that would be the worst summer of her life and what her best friends didn't know was, she'd come back a completely different girl.
