Soundbooth

So as some of y'all know, I have a cover channel on YouTube and lately I've been having problems recording, since I've moved and the floor in the new house is very creeky and the mic is picking up all this random noise and it's soooo hard (sometimes impossible) to remove with my free editing software.

So I've decided I needed an upgrade.

Of course, I can't have an actual sound-proof room in the house (tho that would be really cool). So I needed some cheap alternative. Then I discovered the concept of a tiny sound-proof booth for your mic. Which I could easily make myself out of trash. So I did.

Matterials:
- cardboard box
- synthetic wool thingy (idk what's it called, grandma gave me some lol) (or I guess some sponges would work (?))
- double-sided tape (or strong glue, which I didn't have)
- tape (optional)
- colored tape or paint (optional tho)
- a lotta patience, if you want to make it look presentable

Step 1:
I cut off the box flaps and cut a tiny hole where the mic's cord is supposed to go, then taped up the bottom (but it's not necessary, especially if you're gonna decorate it with tape later)

Step 2:
I put in a lot of double sided tape for the wool (I ended up needing more by the edges)

Step 3:
I glued the wool in and cut off the excess. Then I covered the entire thing in like 15 layers of yellow tape because I was too lazy to paint it but I didn't want the logo of the company I got the box from to be visible and I went the hard way...
And the finished thing with the mic inside looks like this:

I have not tried it out yet, hopefully, if I'm able to finally finish arranging a piece, I will try it out tomorrow. But it does seem like it's canceling noise, so that's good.
