I For Some Reason Am Obsessed With The 1920s And It's Getting Out Of Hand Pt 1.
Yeah, so the title is pretty clear ig...
Basically what's happening is that we're hosting this new year's party and we've hosted one before and it was a costume party and it was super fun so I suggested we give the guests a theme this time and everyone was up for it and then I used the opportunity and said that the theme could be "time machine" and everyone really loved it because of how wide it is and, if needed, you can just say you came from yesterday or like 5 minutes ago and boom, you fit the requirements for a costume.
Of course I had to go with 1920s.
Tbh, this whole thing was supposed to be happening last year but we had to call it off because of restrictions made due to covid situation at the time and people were literally not allowed to leave towns (there was police everywhere), so it's happening this year and, honestly, for the better, because last year, when I had proposed the theme, I had the idea of how I wanted to look but I didn't know it was the 1920s (I had quite the ride to come to that conclusion and I should shut up before I start rambling about random stuff again)
So yeah, enough of words
I made a headpiece or whatever this is called
And I made it totally from scratch
1. Cut some threads (featuring grandma's sewing machine)
2. Put it into this cardboard thing and started making a rope. The whole process is described in the part about the pride bracelet if I remember correctly (why am I even telling this?)
3. Made a rope
4. Found some wire and put it inside the rope
5. Tied up the loose ends
6. Cut some yarn pieces
In this pic I think there're around 50 of them I think but in the end I used 100 (plus minus because math is hard with these things)
7. Started tying them on a soft wire (or whatever that fluffy-bendy thing is called)
This is how:
8. Finished 'em
9. Started combing
10. Finished combing, put some more wire on it to make it stay bc the soft thing didn't hold it up properly bc the thing turned out to be too heavy. Then I put it on the hoop from earlier and bent in a way I wanted it to stay. Then I put some wool that came off when combing on the part where the two things connect to hide it and here's the finished thing:
Turned out way better than I was expecting considering that I couldn't find any tutorials on it so I just combined a bunch of random ideas I found with some of my own ideas and it for some reason worked
