Cosplay Stuff?
Started this last week zonly managed to finish this morning. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out and it kinda sucks that I can't show it in a way that I would want to (bc I'd have to show my face and that's a nono)
So yeah...
I decided to do a cover of this one song from a cartoon and it's sung from my fave character's POV so I thought I could dress up as him in the video (so those of you who know of my channel on YouTube will be able to see the full thing (yay, views heh))
And I've been watching a lot of cosplayers struggling to make one detail of his outfit which is this gravity-defiant monacle, so I thought I could give it a go.
Actually, this came from my random urge to do something with a tape and I ended up coloring it in red and realized it could make the lense for the monacle.
OK, pics now ig
The lense:
1) tools used (paper so I don't color the desk)
2) colored tape (it has multiple layers of tape and therefore multiple coats of the marker)
3) the lense
The thing is that in the end I used a different lense because my stupid ass decided to burn this one with a flat iron in attempt to get rid of the air bubbles stuck inside of the tape. But the process was the same, so I decided not to take pics (and I also wasn't really in the mood for it as I made it this morning and it's been kinda gloomy bc of... You know... (I'm posting this now solely for the reason to get my mind off of it bc I'm supposed to sleep but I'm not sleepy and social media shows nothing else) )
ANYWAY
So the idea I had for that monacle to stay up but just below my eye (as in the cartoon) without it actually touching my face was to make it like glasses but backwards. I know that probably doesn't make any sense, so I'll explain: basically, imagine normal glasses people use to see better. They are being held up by person's ears and nose. They could stay up with no problem without the nose if they were lighter and would hook up better than they do. So I thought that I could make this wire thing which would resemble glasses but it would go on the back of one's head (the part that normally goes on your nose would now be on the back of your head) and only the part that is seen in the actual cartoon would be visible as the wire would be covered by hair. Of course, it isn't absolutely accurate bc the lense o ly seems to be attached to wherever it is attached to by a couple of beads that aren't connected in any way, so that would be kind of impossible to do.
OK, enough rambling for now, this is the wire thing that I made:
(the lighting is amazing, I know)
And then with some beads to cover up the wire up until it goes on an ear:
And then the finished thing from two different angles bc it looks really bad when not worn but I'm not doing a face reveal and I don't have a mannequin head:
That's it for this ig. Hopefully I'll see some of you when the video comes out in two weeks (I think??)
